  • Quote: Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well. I just scheduled an appointment for the next two Monday's with an IP coach at my local clinic. I'm about to place an order. Lots of drama at home lately. My wife of 16 years filed for divorce last Tuesday. I was devastated but now I am doing much better. I need to re establish some short and long term goals and get myself back on IP and to GOAL!
Ah man, I am so sorry I missed this!! I sure hope you are doing alright. Send me a private message either here or on facebook if you want. I'll be here for ya.
  • Newbie
Hey guys. New to this forum. Glad I found a place with other guys doing IP. I’m a 50 y.o. married guy with two teenagers. Name is Joe. My weight was really getting out of hand. I’m 6’2” and at initial weigh-in was 339.8. Totally disgusted with myself. Anyway, I’m now 11 days in on IP. So far, so good. I lost 10.6 lbs in week one. Hoping for some significant loss this week as well.

How is everyone? Would like to get to know some of you.
  • Welcome
Welcome to the forum Joe. Lots of guys in the same boat as you. Visit often.

I'm not a guy and haven't been on IP for a while. I was just wondering if anyone heard from Vet lately. He was on this forum a lot a few years ago. This must be a hard time for him, I remember he is a wonderful father, I hope he is doing OK.
  • Success!
Long time lurker, just wanted to post my journey so far. Started March 26th at 230lbs, looked at myself in some photos taken on a vacation we just returned from and decided it was time, happy to report by July 26th I was down to 160lbs.

I had set my original goal at 200lbs, and like many here I revised my target, then re-revised, etc, etc..... Big NSV for me about a month into the diet came when my 7 year old daughter gave me my morning hug before work, except this time she jumped back and looked startled, when I asked what was wrong she announced with a smile that her hands had touched for the first time ever! Talk about motivation, from then on the hug test was more important than the scale .

I am maintaining my weight at 160lbs, I've gone from a 38 waist to a 32, my collar went from 17.5" to 15", I never thought i'd hit those numbers. I haven't been this size since my early teens.

For those of you just starting out, it works! Stick to it! Oh, and you may want to start saving for new clothes now lol, it adds up!
  • Big NSV when I had to order some 38" pants and shorts, never thought I'd see "normal" clothes again.
  • Great work joe & knel!!
    Keep it up!
  • I forgot to say a big "Thank you" to all on this site, the wealth of knowledge and encouragement here is awesome.
  • Hey folks checking in. I hope everyone is doing well. Life has been a roller coaster. I cried at the drop of a hat for over three weeks. I am now ready to move on. I have a house under contract and I should be moving with in 6 weeks!

So I need to get back on OP. I had fun over the weekend knowing I was back on the plan today. Doing well with it. I hope you are too.
  • Hello gentlemen,

I am now just wrapping up my third week on IP. I had a rough start...as I'm sure many of you had...and lately I was just really trying to talk myself out of doing this. Lots of reasons why...not being able to eat all the holiday foods, feeling left out at parties, etc...same stuff I'm sure everyone encounters.

WELL I have resolved to KEEP THIS UP until my goal date of January (our vacation, which I would like to be OP for). I suffered--and I do not use that term lightly--through the first few weeks, and I am not about to let that all go to waste.

With that said, I'm excited to have discovered this forum and this thread and look forward to getting to know everyone and be a part of this online community!

  • New guy here. Just started IP on Oct. 26th. I decided to ease into the program slowly, but I'm just about fully on program now. My goal is to hit my goal weight by May (which is plenty of time...). I really appreciate all of the support and information available on this forum. It helped me decide to try this out.
  • Another new guy here!

Just finished my 5th week and I'm down 24lbs, 30% BF & a loss of 21.75" so far! Should be finished P1 by Christmas and that will make take-offs & landings so much easier this ski season!

How is it going. Reaching out for support has always been helpful for me. Checking in here regularly was part of why I was successful. It helps. I am going to start getting more active here on the forum again.

Goals are important. Make sure you reward yourself when you do well and hit a mini goal.

    Crash that's awesome.

I have gained back a bunch of my weight. I am still down over 70#'s but I am frustrated with myself. I have OA pretty bad in both knees, The pain is back again, it felt so much better when I was down 155#'s. So I need to get my *** in gear and get it done again and keep going.

My wife is closing on our house today and I should be closing on mine on the 30th. We are getting divorced. Being OP will help me with tough times. I need the structure.
  • Wow the word beginning with "a" followed by "ss" is now a banned word. That one is clear for TV! =)

I just want you to know to hang in there. Divorce is hard and it takes a while to move on. But wanted you to know that after 22 years of marriage I was divorced but have been remarried for 23 years. There is that perfect soul mate out there for each of us.

Have a Merry Christmas and hope your New Year is filled with happiness and love. Hugs
