  • Halfagain,

I am a fairly "new " knitter, just the last couple of years. I love that sweater, I have been making fingerless gloves in several patterns for nieces and my daughter. Keep knitting, it keeps your hands busy in the evening when I used to snack. lol.
  • Quote: That's a scary place to take a nap - hope you didn't wake up with some tubes hanging out!
Area not used at night, its an outpt area but needed to be out around 0600. Was not a problem, got sleep and had power for using my CPAP but the bed/gurney only fair. The cath lab staff knew when they left Thursday at the end of the day that people would be staying there that night. They made up the beds and left a mint on each pillow.
  • Mints on the pillows! They may get repeat business.
  • I was going to learn to knit while I recovered from this surgery then I remembered what happened the last time I was operated on and did a counted cross stitch. My sister was getting married and I was doing this WELCOME sign for her new home. Each letter had its own building. I was almost done with it and put it away for a few weeks. I was so excited to show my sister and I pulled it out to show her and it was an awful mess and said WELC that's all I could fit on it!!! the stitches were everywhere! So Im not gonna try to learn something new this time. I may end up with a 5 legged sweater!
  • Happy Christmas Eve! Up way too early this morning because I feel asleep on the couch and then tried to go back to sleep in bed....didn't work! Wrapped some last minute packages, steam cleaned the kitchen and living room floors. Still not feeling well, whatever this flu/cold thing that is going around sure is taking it's sweet time leaving.

So glad everyone has their electric back..here in Chicago no snow but I'm praying for some white stuff tonight and then it can go away until next Xmas.

Have a great Christmas Eve and stay safe and warm!
  • Happy news today. Last night we picked up our Texas family (DS, DiL, 4 kids under the age of 7). When they saw me at the airport they ran into my arms! Wow, I didn't expect that since it has been a year since I saw them and they are so young. Such sweethearts!

When I got their tickets I put all 6 across one row, with a parent in each middle seat. Paid for the DIL and 4 kids tickets with frequently flyer miles I had been saving, and paid for DS with my DHs miles. United Airlines was so nice to my DH that they moved DS to first class and sold his seat between his 2 kids to someone else! When I called to reverse it they put DS back in Coach, but 12 rows away from his family. What a mess. Got it all fixed at the gate and they had a great flight.

Time to go play, I hear young pitter patters across the floor.
    Merry Christmas, everyone!

  • Merry Christmas Eve Day to everyone!

Glad to report that I'm finally feeling much more like myself. That bug really hangs on... and on..... I'm so thankful that it's pretty much gone, so that I won't be coughing or nose-blowing continuously at our family get together on the 28th. There's a 1yr old grandniece who will be there, and I'd so hate to pass a bug on to her.

Things are going well in P3. I'm a little sad to see that I've gained a couple of pounds back, but they do warn us to expect it so it wasn't a surprise. I've also definitely noticed, now that I'm on my 10th day of P3 and no longer in ketosis, that cravings are more noticeable. So far so good. I'm enjoying my first fun day on the 28th (in moderation). In fact, it's been so long since I've eaten anything with much sugar in it, that I'm a bit concerned re how my body will adapt to a sugary dessert. For sure, I'll be just indulging in a small portion.

Happy Holidays to everyone. I wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas.
  • Merry Christmas Eve! At work waiting for my print job to complete so I can put the bulletin together for the Christmas Eve service tonight. Then I'm out of here until Wed.

Unfortunately, my cravings came back too, once I got out of ketosis. Really having trouble not giving in to them. After New Years Day I think I'm going to do a solid week of P1 to get back on track. Beginning maintenance just before Christmas is kicking my butt. Should have just stayed on P1 until after the holidays - would have been a lot easier :/

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy the time with your families.
  • Merry x mass all you fab 50 chicks, you are all so wonderful and I want to thank all of you for sharing our new way of life journey, it's so nice to all be doing this together!

You look so excited. Now for a moose. Maybe you'll see one. So happy for you. Hope Santa comes and treats you.

Up really late. DH and I had just gone to bed to discover the cat had chased the water slosh sound in the waterbed and punctured 5 holes. Had to get up and patch them and then unload the guest room bed to have somewhere to sleep, but now we're wide awake. Sure glad it's a holiday tomorrow so no critical timing.

    Happy holidays, all.
