I'm going to my inlaws this evening. They cook everything with gravy, fatback, more fatback, and then they fry it. Not exactly conducive to losing weight.

Any advice besides grazing on their lawn?

Oh my, I know what you’re facing! I recently survived a family reunion with enough high fat stuff to sink a ship. My challenge lasted only one day. As rude as it may sound, I think I would take my own stash of food and snacks. Can you offer to help cook or will that be interpreted as an insult? When all else fails, I would probably just explain that I have to restrict what I eat and just pick out the things that will fit in your plan. After all fatback is called fatback for a reason!
