  • Last month of 2005!! Time flies when you're having fun

Let's make this a good month even it is full of and food!! Running WILL burn those extra calories so lets run a mile or kilometer more than than usual...

  • I'm making a mini-challenge: To go running tomorrow and either Saturday or Sunday! I WILL get a full week's running in this week!
  • I ran 5k on the treadmill this morning. Now I've done the 10k I'm trying to concentrate on increasing my speed a bit, and I just about managed a 28 minute 5k this morning which I'm really pleased with as I've been stuck at about 29.30 for what seems like ages.
  • Did 5.5 tonight it felt really gooooood!! I was stressed from work I was smilling afterwards ... I almost missed my running group but I made it, I was glad I did I would have gone alone anyways if I would have missed them...
  • I've managed to run a couple times in the last few weeks, and am doing OK, but my consistency really stinks since I've gone back to work. It seems like some weeks I work out 6 days a week and others I maybe am lucky to walk to the mailbox.

Hoping to get my day care worked out soon--it has fallen through twice which is a big part of the problem.

YP good for you on your 5K time!
  • I made day3, week3 couch to 5k! I'm getting into this running thing! Although it's hard, but nothing that's worth working for is ever easy!
  • 20 minute run today on the
  • Hello everyone!

I have been absent from the Cool Runners thread for a while because I haven't been running. Started to slip back a little in the past few weeks and decided to do something. Finally getting back into running, just in time for the holidays. Ran 2 miles on Monday...And I'm still sore today! Have another 2 miles planned for tomorrow. Managed to run the whole distance, VERY SLOWLY, but pretty pleased with my start anyway!

This patient part at the beginning is tough.

  • Another 28 minute 5k this morning to prove that Tuesday's wasn't a fluke!
  • Welcome back skinnyjeans , nice to see you again...

    Way to go YP1 ....

I had another great run today, I love this cooler weather...
  • Girls, am I too late to join you?

I just discovered this thread last week. I've been dying to get running again (Ilene, have you heard that one before? ), and you're all so inspiring!

I just got on the treadmill for 20 minutes, and during that time, ran an 8 and a 2 minute stretch.
  • It's never too late to join us

    Welcome!
  • I started a run tonight, and my knees are better. Unfortunately my hubby gets home too late and it is too cold to run outside, I had to leave when they locked up.

I'll try again tomorrow, I'll have to move my C25K days to Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • Hello everyone! I'd forgotten about these running threads.

I ran three days this past week. I was going to run today, but decided not to because it was so yucky and gray out. Yesterday's run was nice. It was sunny out and about 35 degrees. I walked for a while in just my t-shirt because I got hot. The sidewalks were a bit slushy, so I was praying that I wouldn't fall and look like a total dork!

Running goal: 3-5 days a week, at least half an hour each.
  • Well I ran three times this first week back and managed to make it all the way through each run. Really proud of yesterday's because I had to run through 3-4 inches of snow in some sections. Wow that really works your legs. I have never run in the snow before.

Yesterday it was bitterly cold. In the low-20's and wind chill down in the teens. I am just not used to winter yet. Layered up and put on hat and gloves but could have used a second layer on the pants. My legs were cold and red by the time I got home.

I am just going to be dedicated about getting out and flexible about my timing to deal with the weather. I don't know how you Canadian gals do it. Aren't you in a snow belt?
