foods that boost?

  • what foods boost your metabolism?
I have been reading alot of post the past day and see so many of you loosing weight. what foods do you eat and when?
example, for breakfast i had a piece of dry wheat toast. not the yummiest, taste sort of like cardboard *HAHA
Lunch i plan on eatting fruit and veggies
dinner maybe a salad and chicken breast.
eatting like this can be very boring. I need someone to tell me what to eat, when *HAHA
  • Well so far today, I had a small bowl of Fruit Harvest cereal with skim milk, one poached egg and a couple slices of tomato for breakfast. For lunch, I had ham and provolone with mustard, lettuce, tomato and pickle on low carb whole wheat bread (the Pepperidge Farms is soft and not like cardboard). I also had a serving of pretzels. I'll eat an apple shortly, then for supper, I'm thinking of a seafood salad.

Each day I do something different. Sometimes it's boiled or scrambled eggs and whole grain Cheerios or a wheat muffin with fruit spread for breakfast. Rotisserie chicken, turkey, grilled fish of various types, seafood kabobs, with long grain brown rice, whole wheat pasta or various veggies for dinner. Or try a turkey burger on a wheat bun. Stuff a pepper or cabbage with ground turkey and long grain brown rice. I also have a lot of meals throughout the day. I eat fruit or cottage cheese or a slice of ham or turkey with a piece of white cheese or nuts or beef jerky between meals.

If you don't have a lot of time to cook, spend a day on the weekend and make large batches and freezen them. But they're putting out so much stuff that we don't really have to eat cardboard anymore. I've grown to love the Tyson rotisserie whole chickens. Nuke em for 6 minutes and you have dinner for 4. LOL

You can spice up any meal though and have some naughty foods by just getting little bits of it. Take the holidays for instance, put a tablespoon of stuffing on the plate and 4 tablespoons of green beans, rather than the other way around. Experiment a bit too. I've frozen lots of good experiments and thrown out lots of bad ones. But that way I didn't get bored with my meals.
  • I know what I will do, just have you come live with me for a few weeks and teach me all this fun stuff *HAHA
ok for lunch I had 3 celery sticks...goes well with the cardboard I had for breakfast *HAHA
  • Just look for as many shortcuts as you can and it'll ease the learning curve. Like the Tyson whole rotisserie chickens. Those are excellent, precooked, 6 min. prep time. For meals on the go. Just had dinner, and it was the left over rotisserie chicken with string beans. I just toss some frozen string beans into a hot skillet with olive oil, drop a bit of sea salt over them and cook em up for about 10 minutes. Plus, while fixing the beans, I boiled some eggs. It's 7:00 p.m., but they'll come in handy for breakfast with no cooking required in the morning. I'm figuring a couple of boiled eggs with a whole wheat bagle and fat free cream cheese. Dinner and breakfast in under 15 minutes.

Slap some PB on those celery sticks next time BTW to get some protein and fats.
