Back to Sugar Busters need some help

  • undefined Hello I just came back to Sugar Busters and I need some help. Can someone please tell me where I can go to find out how to get started on Sugar Busters again. There was a site that gave you information on what to eat and what not to eat etc. But I can't seem to find it.

  • Hi gingerspice,

Welcome back to SB. Do you have the paperback version of the book? It's been revised since the hardcover version, which I used to have but loaned to a friend and never got back. That's all I've really used, plus other nutrition and recipe books that fit the plan. There is an official Sugar Busters website, but it really doesn't help much. I can give you my typical shopping list, but everyone likes what they like or not, so it's really up to you to review the lists of "legal" foods in the book and pick those things that you like and can turn into meals you'll eat and enjoy. I too have returned to following the plan after about 2 years of eating whatever the heck I wanted. Ended up feeling tired, sick, fat, depressed, etc. I've been back for a month and it's been like riding a bike. All my old shopping and cooking habits just came right back to me. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but you'll find your way, I'm sure. Just keep coming back here for support, post your questions and keep faith in yourself. I'd be happy to chat anytime!
  • Thanks For The Reply
    Thank You
I Checked Out The Sugar Busters Web Site. You Are Right Its Not Very Helpful. I Will Look For The New Paper Back Book.
I Also Had The Hard Copy And I Gave It To My Daughter Who Lives In Il. She Has Lost 20 Lbs Already And Is Feeling Much Better.
I Like You Have Been Off Of Sugar Busters And Feel Very Tired And Not Happy With My Weight. I Know Its To Much Sugar Because When I Cut Back I Feel So Much Better.
I Have A Daughter Your Age So I Can Understand How You Feel Also.
    Good Luck To You.

  • If you have any questions about Sugarbusters, you can get answers more quickly if you post them in the weekly support threads. There are a number of us who post there daily, and many of us have been doing SB for a long time, and would be happy to help you in any way we can.

As for getting started on SB again, my suggestion would be to get off sugar, and don't eat the white flour, white rice, white potatoes, sugar etc, and get back to whole grains, and eating legal foods. Once you get off the sugar, then start working on the portion sizes. For weight loss, most successful SBers keep their starchy carbs at 2-3 servings per day.

Hope that helps! I hope to see you on the weekly support area!
