  • Hello everyone glad to see your all hanging in there! I have had my little vacation to Maine which I didn't do too bad could of been worse. I had a super time and the wedding was wonderful. They ran short on the food end but that was okay for me. I did manage to eat a few too many dill potatoe chips. But I did have some time to swim and workout at the hotel. So that was nice. Haven't been feeling too good the past couple of days a bit of a stomach thing going around I guess. At any rate I am ready to jump back in and try to keep up with the journal it seems to help me be more alert of what I should and shouldn't eat. Oh well on Thurs. I will weigh in and see what damage if any has been done. I really enjoyed having my clothes fit better and 12lbs.off my body sure felt good. It sure is hard to take off and easy to put on huh? I will check in on Thurs. Have a great day everyone~!

  • Today is the start to watch what I am putting in my mouth again. I was lucky got on the scale today and lost 1/2lb.. I was just pleased that it didn't go up! At any rate today is the start for me to start the journal again.
I will chart later my intake for the day. Did anyone ever try the low carb one day, high carb another I just read about it? It stems from Wendy's Diet where with wwpts. one day is high another low it suppose to get your system going and weight loss to increase. Please let me know if anyone has tried or heard of it?
    Thanks,
    Skyfirefly
  • Skyfirefly, I saw a magazine story about the high carb, low carb idea. I think it makes loads of sense ... I'm not a low carb person, but for those who are doing this, it seems like a good idea and a healthy way to jumpstart the metabolism and try out low carbing without depriving oneself of carbs, which IM(NOT HUMBLE)O are essential to good health! Just my opinion ... I'll be watching your quest with interest!!! Good luck!

I just declared my new 21-day challenge to myself on the challenge thread. Since the pb cup eating seems to be related to my blowing the calorie limits, I decided to forget about the calorie limit as far as the challenge goes and declare a no pb cup policy as my goal! I'm on day one and will be back as per usual with my menu report tonight! Gotta travel today for work!
  • Skyfirefly, congrats on losing 1/2 pound!

Amarantha, I think that I'm going to loosen up with the calories counting for a while too. Still watching portion sizes and geting in lots of fruits and veg, but going to lighten up with the math for a while. I'm a touch bored with it but can always come back to it. I have a really good sense of calorie counts at this point anyway and will still be ciphering in my head, I'm sure!

Yesterday we had luch at an Indian restaurant and my weight's up a few pounds this morning. That always seems to happen with Indian or Chinese food with me. Anybody else get that? Must be the salt? So---I'm gong to eat very lightly today and drink lot sof water and hopefully tomorrow all will be back in balance again.

    Here's yesterday's!

    coffee w/ ff 1/2 and 1/2
ww bagel w/ lite cream cheese, spinach

Lunch at Nawab's [it was a buffet and I must remember that the 2nd plate is never as good as the first! Still I didn't overeat---almost, but not quite!]

    peppermint pattie

    2 slices homemade pizza
    a few cherries

    exercise: 3 mile walk
  • Yo! Eydie, I'm still counting, though, out of habit, but I'm thinking I'm going to taper down to a lower count more slowly, even if it means a weight gain this week. Rome wasn't built in a day, they say!

Here's the damage for me, with nary a pb cup in sight, though I bought some Pria bars as a substitute. They are NOT pb cup flavored. I'm pummelling those pb cups into submission (as E saith) (new fav smilie):

    Greek mini pizza 250

    2 cans van Slimfast 440
3 van Pria energy bars 330

    EAS van CC shake 100
    7 fiber tablets 5
EFA supplement (Omega 3, 6, 9 from flax, fish & borage oils) 10
    Greek mini pizza 250

2 van Pria energy bars 220
    EAS van CC shake 100

Shake: 1 c mixed berries, water, Splenda 90
    EAS van CC shake 100

    Total 1895

Exercise: 35 min , 5 min ab machines
  • Edyie,
I have the same problem when I eat those wonderful foods too!
They have a lot of sodium in them. I was up on the scale a bit this a.m. how depressing oh well! Anyways today is another day and it could of been my bread yesterday, few chips or that potatoe salad. Today I know I am going to have pizza later so the breakfast and lunch I will try to becareful. Have a great day and my diet is a bit of this idea and watching the intake which somedays are better than others. If I don't get on the scale at least a couple of times of week then it gets out of control. The weight is too hard to come off to let it just get right back on I figure!!!!!! Have a super weekend everyone and together we can reach our goal
Breakfast- Heart to Heart cereal with milk 2 coffees
Lunch- 2 slices jalopeno cheese bread with sliced roast pork, onion, potatoe salad
Dinner- turkey pastrimie rolled up , 2 chicken nuggets, 1 banana
before bed!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 bowl of cereal heart to heart
This was an odd eating day for me and not my usual schedule or like dinner wasn't a meal just grab and run! The journal helped with taking a look of what a crazy type of day it was. When things get out of routine one tends to screw them self all up. Who says kids need routine and structure? I know I DO! ooops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
