Good Morning Kids,

Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend. I am home today w/a sick little one. 102.2 fever this morning. Its amazing even with a fever/cold she still manages to get up and dance with the disney shows on TV. Kids are wonderful.

I prepared a little food for the week so I'm not caught off guard. I made coleslaw, deviled eggs, mock mashed taters w/cheese for side dishes.

Today I'll finish folding laundry and pick up here and there, especially in my kitchen, its a disaster.

Good Morning Leenie! poor little darlin! I hope she feels better quickly. When my boys were little and had fever they just laid around like little limp rags. Do you think it's a guy thing?

I really appreciate your post from last night about atkins. I know I don't sound ready and I'm probably not, but I've been thinking hard about it since the day after Christmas when I got back on track, and been reading off and on for the past 2 weeks and if I don't get started now I think I'm gonna panic and really mess myself up. Sooooooooooo ready or not, I started this morning. I stopped at Walmart on my way in and bought some things I will need to have at work, so I don't get caught without the food I need. I also bought The Atkins Journal, that has the condensed info you need, and 120 days to journal on. In it, it says that there are 3 convenience foods I can have on induction, Atkins Advantage Bars, his Ready to Drink Shakes and Morning Start Breakfast Bars. Of course, I have to count the carbs and not have too many of those, but I really think those things might help me with breakfast since that is what seems the hardest for me. So I weighed this morning, took my measurements - the whole nine yards - so that I will have something to compare to in a month or so.

I've got to get off the internet and get to work, but I will check back later.

What is everybody doing today? I'm not sure where I have to be yet, fixing to check in with mom to see if I need to tend to MawMaw at noon.

Cathy is really sounds like you are going to get this done. I wish all of the best for you too. You have it good being able to talk to Leens about atkins.

Leens I have noticed that with kids too. They can be sick as dogs and they act like nothing is wrong. I wish I could be like that. I have to hide under the covers and be left alone.

Not to much happening today. I am trying to figure out if I can stop work and go to school full time though. I am just not able to stay here for much longer. I know Cin told me that I need to make the best of it but I feel like I am losing myself here. I am just not the happy smiling person anymore. I really have tried but it is just not working. So, I am going to make a plan for myself and move on from there.

YEAH CATHY !!! I'm so glad you started GOOD LUCK!! Does it really say you can have those bars on induction? gee I really thought you couldn't. I find the simpler I keep the food the better in the beginning.

my bootay *snickers* I just got done exercising and eating a half a sandwich.Now i am going to eat a yogurt.I think I may be ready for a nap but I am debating on it.Plus I need a shower....I smell like sweat.

I was up at 5:30 checking out some things on e tools for Weight Watchers...............a lot of helpful info I never have time to read!

I worked until 10:30 at the CAFE for the teens at church last night........an am a bit tired. I have 2 meetings today and go directly to church for a Leadership meeting right after work. my tongue will be hanging out by 9pm! I will survive!(hopefully)

Cathy..how is Grandmother and Granfather?

Yea Leenie - it surprised me too, but that's what it says. It concerned me a little so I went back to the 2002 book "Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution" and I hadn't seen this before, but on Page 129, under The induction Phase, there is a section called "Convenience Foods". It says

"Although it is important that you eat primarily unprocessed foods, some controlled carb food products can come in handy when you are unable to find appropriate food, can't take time for a meal or need a quick snack."

So you are definitely right - the simpler the better, and I'm not gonna go wild with them. I'm really not crazy about their bars so doubt I'll bother much with them, but I did buy their strawberry shake bec I want to try one of those for breakfast and see how they taste.

I'm happy to say that so far, today has been no big deal at all, so that is encouraging. Of course it's only 3 pm but its the mornings that I find the hardest. I want them carbs in the morning. But that will pass.

Today has not been bad at all, but I sure could use something sweet right now. I'm not hungry - just wanting something sweet. I think some caff free diet coke may do the trick - well I guess it will have to huh!

Kem, full time school would be awsome !!!! I would love to be a full time student. The few times I attempted to go back to college I was working full time and it was to much for me to handle. I give people credit that can do it.

Cathy, watch the diet soda, you might wanna run out and get some thats made with splenda, diet rite, and I think Crush now has splenda, gotta check it out. Regular diet soda can play w/your body and have an effect on weight loss. I hope you don't get mad at me for making comments, its just that I want this so bad to work for you and any of my mistakes I would happily pass on to others so they don't do the same.

If your really craving sweets, a little sf jello won't hurt, plus you can make whipped cream w/the divinci syrups. That helps. So does glugging down some splenda soda. Do you like coleslaw ? I have a great recipe and ITS SWEET!!! CRUNCH and good, if you want.
