The Ultimate Weight Challenge (Dr. Phil)

  • Well, I am doing the challenge. Have started work on it as of yesterday. I am going to work through this for the next 10 months as the people are doing on the show.

I have the book so will be able to work on it daily.

Am feeling good about this -- I believe it is going to open the unlocked doors of why I am the way I am and to permanently get rid of all of this weight. As one woman on the show said today "I am worthy -- I need to get this straight and done once and for all."

Anyone else going to come aboard and commit to doing it for the next 10 months?

624.75 miles walked as of today!
  • I am doing this for the rest of my life.
  • Actually I am too!
But this is the start of a new era in my life -- so this will be a record of how I have done.

I am going to be getting weighed tomorrow -- hoping for a loss but whatever -- my main aim is to be down something at the end of every month.

  • Me, too--I've been too complacent on this plateau for too long. Now I'm in for the long haul. Wish me luck, as winter is the hardest time for me b/c I'm craving chili & soup & carbs, oh my!

    We can do this!
  • Love the book so far - I'm in
  • Have made up my goals!
Well I have redone chapter 1 and set up my goals -- done all the questions / writing he says to do on this, then I did the readiness profile (chapter 3 of book).

Started now on Key #1 -- have taken the Weight Locus of Control audits -- and read about my scores -- really has gotten me thinking!! Really has hit home as I see so much of what he says in me.

Today i will be working on the Internal dialogue audit (page 63 of book) -- the question he has asked here is

'In this next important audit, I'd like you to tune in to your self-talk in order to identiyf exactly what it is that you tell yourself. Write down what you saya to yourself about these topics:
    *Your appearance
    *Your body shape
*Your ablity to manage your weight
    *Your exercise level
    *Your self-control
    *Your general health

    He then continues to say

'Next look back over your writing. How would you describe the overall tone or mood of your self-talk? Is it positive, upbeat? OR is it pessimistic, defeatist, or self-condemning? Underline any writing that you think illustrates either especially positive or especially negative self talk.'

So that is where I am at on this -- my journal is going to get fat fast with all the writing I am doing!!
