I work today and we all think it will be busy with skiers off for the holiday. Works for me! I miss DH and the pup but kitty and I are doing just fine. I'm enjoying a respite from cooking AND I've been working odd hours at home (what's new) trying to get the company books done. I'm almost there!

Wow, you guys are chatty for a Monday morning! I have a breakfast date with a friend, and am really looking forward to it before work. I just took DS's temp, it's still at 101, so I'm betting he'll be staying home from school tomorrow as well. Although I'm allowed to bring him to work sick, I hate to spread the funk, so we'll see how the temp is tomorrow.

I'll skip the personals since I'm leaving in a few, but glad to see y'all checking in!

I did not sleep well last night The floor guys are due to arrive soon so my day will be crazy since we need to be out of the house and I workout with my mom this morning then work this afternoon. I have a list of all I need to pack for my day! Tomorrow will be the same, but yoga instead.

I'll be glad when it is all over. And very glad when the smell goes away! Too bad it is so cold this week - we won't be opening any windows to air out.

I love reading all your stuff but can't remember what you said when I get down here to type. haha

I am very proud of myself b/c I have stayed on plan!! I really enjoyed a smoothie I made myself with greek yogurt and blackberries. I am so glad I can add fruit back in. Also I enjoyed some brown rice with pork at lunch yesterday and it was very good.

The bad part is my weigh in day is Wednesday and when I was on phase 1 I was cheating and weighing more. So when I weighed last Wednesday the scale had went up 3 lbs and yesterday I had to see if it had moved BUT it hasn't. I use another site to track what I eat b/c I like to make notes and look back so I know it is not that I am overeating or under eating. Hopefully by Wednesday it will move b/c I am supposed to get to add more fruit and grains this week...

I know the scale not moving is no big deal but at my weight I would think it would more so than someone who has less than 100lbs to lose.

Good morning, chicks. I am not on the govt holiday schedule, so I'll be working today, but the kids are off school until Thursday, so things will be loose.
Today I start full-on phase I. I was thinking I could ease into it last week, since I still had some apples, grapefruits, etc. around. But then realized if I'm going to do it, I may as well really do it. I think I'll make roasted red pepper and black bean soup for lunch and fish for dinner. I like to have things planned out a little better, but just didn't get it done over the weekend. I hope to get myself back in the habit of using fitday to track things too.

I'm having a bit of a tough Monday. My goal for last week was to be motivated by staying on plan and not by the scale. I think I can no longer weigh myself daily -- only weekly.

I'm going to spend some time today re-reading the Phase 2 threads so I can feel secure in the carb I'm going to introduce into my diet tomorrow. Since three weeks of Phase 1 didn't result in a dramatic weight loss, moving on to Phase 2 is scary!

OK, I'm going to be positive! My victories last week: I was completely on plan (hooray) and I went out to dinner with friends and was not at all tempted by the bread and butter on the table (woo hoo) or by their crazy decadent desserts. I guess, for now, these are bigger victories than the number on the scale going down.

Elise, sometimes when you plateau, your body needs a little change. After a week of not losing any weight, two days into Ph2 and I'm down a pound. Every little bit helps!

Sounds like we are fighting the same demon. My thought is I know I am eating healthier, less calories and through out the day. Where as before I may not eat breakfast or lunch and my choices were on the fly - some good, some bad. The scale has to budge soon b/c we are doing so good!!

Thanks for the responses, Weezle and PayDayMom. While, logically, I know that weight loss is not linear and immediate, it's still good to hear from those that aren't having consistent weight loss. These boards are reminding me to focus on the long-term healthier lifestyle that I long for! I'm at the end of my third week on this and finding it fascinating that when I don't use food to reward or punish myself (thinking binges, ugh), I have fewer occasions for self-recrimination. So, I'm being kinder to myself with the food I eat, how I use food, and I'm being kinder to myself with my thoughts, too.

That said, I guess I'm processing a lot because for two weeks now I've been breaking out in random skin rashes. A friend who is into homeopathy said it's my body finally getting rid of toxins and that I shouldn't use any topical ointments to control the rashes. Did anyone else get skin rashes when they started South Beach...especially if it was a big change to stop eating processed foods and start drinking lots of water?

Just a quick fly by. It was a busy weekend and I feel like I hardly had any time off. HOWEVER, I did manage to wake up just before 10 AM on Saturday and score 2 tickets to the Elton John concert for me and my mom, so yay for that!!! Went out w/ friends on Saturday night for my bestfriends birthday and, needless to say, I had to start over on Phase I Sunday, LOL

Aside from that, just working all the time. Today starts my stretch of 11 days w/ just 1 day off (this Wednesday...and that's only b/c the Meth Lab Awareness class was canceled). Bah!!!

I still have not stepped on a scale since the holidays. My bestfriend is trying to get me to do a weight loss competition on the other forum I'm on but there is NO WAY I'm getting on the scale until I know I've taken off some weight. I know if I did right now I'd just get mad at myself and get depressed...not doing that to myself.

Busy day yet again. There was a protest at GCT today. Well we looked very prepared, but this "group" was no match for us. They were a branch of the occupy Wall Street movement who were protesting Mental illness profiling with the new gun control laws. The majority of the protesters physically and mentally challenged. You can never be too prepared, but our appearance was a little over kill. Many of the protesters thanked us for being nice to them (sad because many people probably are not). One woman asked if we could give her a push up the ramp. I escorted (wheeled) her to where she needed to be. I told my "guys" I try to do a good deed every day when I am working. I believe if you don't you can become sour.

So today was a good day. Despite being called the "worst of the worst names" to call a woman this morning before 9 am lol
