Thin4Life - Week of April 28, 2003

  • Hello everyone.

DH and I just returned from Nashville for a mini-vacation. DH ran the Country Music Marathon. He did very well. It was cool and windy, but that's great for runners. The rest of the time it was very nice there.

We also visited with a friend and had a great time. I ate too much, but I also walked a lot, so I'm hoping I didn't gain too much (haven't gotten on the scale yet ).

    How is everyone else?
  • Hi everyone!

Welcome Back Domina! Sounds like you had a nice time. I hope the scale is kind to you

Things here have been very hectic--we're gearing up in our office for the summer orientations and we're working on some mailings. On top of all this we're still going back and forth to the doctor with DS #2...the doctor has ordered another CT scan of the eye area because he's still seeing double when he looks down. I'm just hoping that he's not going to have permanent damage. My DH had his knee surgery yesterday and they trimmed the cartilege and cleaned things up so he should be as good as new once he heals up. I'm ready for a vacation!

Not much else happening around here--I'm trying to maintain some sense of normalcy and not eat everything that's not nailed down. *sigh* At least the weather is nice and my flowers are all blooming. I might even have lilacs by Mother's Day.

    Hope everyone is doing okay.
  • Hi everyone,

I have been really bad about posting. I don' t know what has gotten in to me.

However, Domina your vacation sounded great! I love Nashville.

Melissa- oh dear on the family health issues. I hope DH heals nicely and DS gets over his double vision. I think its probably just a shock to the system.

Other than that, I have nothing particularily positive to report today, however, hopefully tomorrow will prove to be better.

  • Melissa, I'm sorry about your son's eyesight. I do hope he heals soon. Also, I hope your DH is soon running again.

Lala: good to hear from you.

What has happened to Seasaw? I know that she went to Hawaii; does anyone know how the trip went?

I still have not gotten on the scale. I'm a big chicken.

I'm happy to report that I heard from an old school chum who has spent her entire life being overweight. She joined Weight Watchers last year and has lost 70 pounds!! I am so proud of her. Also, my other friend who backslid has joined again and has lost 7 pounds!!

    Write more later.
  • Hi Domina,

You are doing fine. I love the chicken icons!

Nothing doing here, I have tons of work and it seems that though budgets are tight, all I am doing is pitching, pitching and more pitching for potential funding. Nice as it is, and probable that we will get more work, it means that other deadlines are not getting met.

Argh. I also leave in 10 days for a good 10 day biz. trip and then back and then gone again for another seven days, back and gone, back and gone. Can you see why its so hard for me to lose weight?

Good news is that I am exercising a lot, bad news is that I am eating more points than I should. So, I am trying hard to eat fewer points during the day so that I have a point reserve for the evenings.

I hope Susan surfaces soon. I hope she had a nice trip to Hawaii and is enjoying a bright canadian spring!

    Hi to everyone else!

  • Okay, deep breath, I got on the scale--gained 2 pounds. That wasn't too bad. I'm glad that's over with.

    How's everyone today?
  • Good morning! It's warm here this morning, 66 degrees, and it's supposed to get up into the mid to upper 70's. The forecast is also calling for thunderstorms and it seems like they're moving in as I sit here at my desk typing. I love a good thunderstorm (as long as I don't lose my power)!

Lala: I can totally see why you're having such a hard time losing with all the traveling. Gosh just a weekend away throws me off!

Domina: Good for you for taking the plunge and getting on the scale! Now you can move forward! 2#'s isn't that bad and you'll be able to get that off.

I've been using the WATP tapes in the morning and I feel good. I'm really not a early riser but I find the mornings that I'm doing the tapes I'm up and ready to go. I've been getting up at 5:45 to do my tape before getting ready for work and it seems to be working out pretty good. I started off doing the tape 3x a week and am planning on adding another day this week. I was down .8 at my WI this week and I'm pleased since it's the week before TOM and I usually post a gain...so maybe that means that once TOM leaves I'll have a nice loss. Here's hoping!

I have a busy weekend coming up...Saturday I'm going to a wedding for the daughter of a co-worker and Sunday there's a food show at my DH's company. It's a lot of fun and we get to see what products they have available and get to taste samples. I love hitting the seafood area

Susan: Hope you had a great trip!

Patch: Where are you???? I sure hope everything is okay!
