Newbie here.....

  • I posted in a few other spots so far, mainly trying to figure out what program to follow....and I decided on Body Rx. So now I gotta read the book :-)

    But one question I had....what is L & S? that I keep hearing about?

So far I like what I see here, and look forward to reading and contributing to the forums :-)

  • go to Lean & Strong.com to find out !! i don't want to get into any more details here because i don't want to cross the line of advertising (God forbid )

welcome to our world !! you're going to love being here. these women are filled with great inspiration and motivation, not to mention fantastic information

please feel free to jump into the daily thread that's titled Week # something !! that's kind of where we all hang out on a day to day basis.

    good luck,

    adriana
  • Congrats on choosing a program! We BodyRxers do post sometimes on L&S but we all post here as well, so your options are many as for questions.

    Hope you enjoy the program!
  • Hmm, I don't think posting the L and S url qualifies as advertising because they are a free site and no one tries to sell you anything there.

MrsJim, please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

It's a great site btw. Loads of information.

Robin- I had fantastic results on BodyRX. I cut my BF in half and loved the eating plan.

  • Well actually....

It is one of the 3FC rules...
    Quote:
    6. You agree not to solicit our members to join other weight loss forums. This is considered "competitive" behavior which deteriorates our purpose.
Now, many people here do lurk/post at L&S, so it's not exactly a big secret or anything - but in consideration of the rules of the board here...I've removed the URL in adriana's post. You'll note that in the Basic Info sticky, the L&S URL (along with other forums) has been removed as well. However I have left URLs to Krista Scott Dixon's website, Dave Draper's site, and ABC Bodybuilding since they offer valuable info and (as far as I know) don't require you to 'join' a forum.
  • I don't understand

I want to make sure that I don't make a mistake! If the above is wrong (with L&S) then how is posting for ckd.com and theketogenicdiet.com okay since both of them contain forums as well?

(I'm a Lurker, but thinking about coming out to talk to people about the Bodyrx program.)

    Thanks for your input!

  • Tracy - I've asked Suzanne 3FC (owner/administrator of the board here) to post a clarification...
  • Hi

I guess it is time to clarify, or possibly revise the rules.

We've had problems in the past with people coming here just to advertise sites with the intent to make a profit (links to MLM products, or affiliate programs, that sort of thing) We've also had problems with people coming here just to advertise other websites or free forums with the intent to take our membership or traffic away.

It's ok to tell someone about a website that may be helpful if someone has inquiries about that particular topic. We assume everyone here is here for the same reason, and that is to support each other in a common goal.

It's not ok to join our forum just to post and say "Come check out this nifty forum/site I found" because that person didn't come here to look for or provide support, they just came here to use our forum for free promotion.

From a business standpoint, there are two other reasons we prohibit this.

Our monthly bills are semi-fixed. They can increase under some circumstances, but they will not decrease, even if traffic is reduced. However, reduced traffic will seriously reduce the amount of funding we receive from our advertisers. As everyone here knows, we already cover some of the costs out of our own pockets. Reducing our advertising revenue further could literally shut us down for good. This is not just true in our case, but this is a general situation for all websites.

Also, we want to improve 3FC, and make it more comprehensive for more people. We know we cannot be everything for everyone, and if someone doesn't find what they need here, they know how to use search engines and find what they need elsewhere. That's just the way of the internet and is not unique to people seeking weight loss support. However, if someone is looking for something in particular and we don't offer it, then we'd really like the opportunity to try to provide it!

In other words, we really want to keep you here! It not only helps keep this site open, but it also encourages us to expand and make the website better.

We had to crack down on the advertising rule in January, because of the influx of people selling products/services in response to New Years Resolutions and the increased interest in fitness. It's always bad at the first of the year. However, things have settled down and I guess it's time to let our guards down a little.

Therefore, it's ok to provide links to other websites, as long as they are not blatant advertisements, but are genuine suggestions of support or information. I'll update the rules to reflect this.

If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please let me know
  • Thanks for that clarification Suzanne!!

  • I understand about "solicitors," and I thought Robin's message was innocent enough, but had to ask.

    Thanks, Suzanne!
