How do I eat...

  • Celery. As crazy as it sounds, I want to eat celery, but I hate that stringy taste. Feels like there's hairs in my mouth. I haven't tried chopping it up yet, but other than that, any suggestions?
  • Why do you think you have to eat celery? There are plenty of other vegetables that are just as good for you. There's no need to eat food that you don't even like! But if you really must, slice it thinly and add it to salad, or use it in green smoothies.
  • Celery can br cooked.
  • You can de-string it... hard to explain though. Maybe you can google or find it on youtube.
  • Slice it thinly, and add cubed Granny Smith apples, nuts and light Greek yougurt.
Or: in small pieces, with grated carrots, apples and a light mayo+ketchup combination.
Or: use the potato peeler to take away the green "hairy" part, and fill the whiter part with your favourite filling, to take as appetizers. That's delicious! I like some blue cheese and yogurt on mine...
  • They make great addition to soups. They can also be added to chicken or tuna salad when cut into tiny pieces.
  • I like it cooked in soup or chopped very small in egg white salad.

I only find it to be stringy or tough if I'm eating it as a stalk.
  • I don't notice the strings when it's chopped or cooked.
