Just wanted to stop back by and say "Hi!" I started IP exactly 2 years ago today, weighing in at 264 pounds. I was a "100%" type for 6 months, and by Thanksgiving, I had lost 100 lbs. Kept it mostly off, but fell back a little into old eating habits (although I *do* exercise an hour a day), and slowly, slowly, weight crept back up to 192. Went back on IP "100%" on April 2nd, and today? I'm at 159!
I never transitioned off properly the first time, after one more week, I'm going to do it the right way.
My high weight was 313 on my 42nd birthday (1-13-07), and in December 2009 I weighed 296. So I'm down 154 lbs (not quite half!) from my high, and 137 from my IP start weight!
I truly believe this is "The Last Diet" I'll ever need, for several reasons. One, it has taught me what my body needs to be lighter. Two, if I do backslide? I know just what to do to nip it in the bud.
Keep up the good work, everyone!
Great job!!!! Very impressive!!!! I sure hope this is the LAST DIET I ever need!
It's always good to hear from the 'alums' who have gone the course with IP.
I found it particularly interesting that you have decided this time to phase out properly. From what I've read here, I think it's pretty essential to long term success.
Kudos to you for getting back on track and working towards your weight loss goal again. Your insight is appreciated.
Thanks for sharing. For newbies like myself it is useful to hear how others have handled phasing out into the real world. Even if you go off track there is a way to get back on the program.
Thanks for the motivation!
Kat2500 - we have very similar stats, starting at 179.6 with a goal of 130!
How inspiring! Your stats are close to mine (my high was 304#) and I'm just an inch shorter than you and have the same goal.
You look GREAT in your photo.
Thanks for posting - helps keep me going to hear how people have been so successful with IP.
Way to go! I began maintenance four weeks ago and it is so helpful to know how to get back to goal! It's a lot of work...and so easy to slip!!!
Keep up the great work and know you're not alone...
Wow that is so inspirational!! I don't know the last time I was 160, oh yeah I do, it lasted 2 months lol! This time I'm blown' by that number and gonna keep going until I am in the normal BMI for me.
