New here & a plateau question...

  • Hey, my name is Wes. I'm a 23 year old professional female. I'm on a diet (of course) and from time to time I need some advice. I also have a lot of knowledge about nutrition and dieting (not my first rodeo!) So feel free to ask me any questions, and hopefully I can help.

I've dropped two BMI points since I started this diet- really excited to get going and reach my goal. However- recently I hit a roadblock. I've kept my calories (1000-1200 a day) and exercise the same (1.5 hours a day walking on treadmill at highest incline) but I'm not losing weight. My skinn-ier clothes feel better, and my friends ask if I've lost weight. The scale hasn't budged for the last two weeks. I have IBS, so I think that may have something to do with it. Is it constipation, muscle or my metabolism going kaput? Any advice?
  • Are you eating the same stuff everyday and working out the same as well? Sometimes your body gets used to the routine. Consider shaking up your metabolism a bit... Increase your calories for two days, only by 3-400 calories, or add weight training if u don't already. I was stuck for 3-1/2 weeks at the same number and tried this, and it really did work. Good luck, don't give up!

  • Thanks, that's very helpful. I've considered starting weight training again... I am always intimidated by the muscly guys who "know what they are doing" over on the training benches... haha.
Thanks for the advice and lovely to meet you.
