hi all! I am starting medifast next week and am going to lose 40-45 lbs. If consistently following the Medifast program, how fast can I expect to lose the weight? What are everyone else's experience with this?
Medifast quotes that people generally lose between 2-5 lbs per week, on average. Generally, the higher your starting weight, the larger your losses will be - at least a first. I lurk on the Medifast boards and it does seem a lot of people lose fast.
I've only been on the program 3 weeks now and I'm averaging a little over 4 pounds a week but I have close to 100 lbs to lose. I've not added any exercise in yet.
Good luck!
It varies from person but so far, from all the trends, I've noticed that women tend to average (in the long run) 3lb/week and men 5lb/week.
Since you're a woman, 45 lbs should be lost in 15 weeks which is approximately 4 months. + 1 month (i think) of transitioning back to regular foods.

It took me 3 months to lose 40 pounds, but since I started at a much higher weight than you, it will probably take you longer.
My coach started closer to your weight, and it took her 4 months to lose 35 pounds.
Good luck - you can do it!
I'm on Week 16, and I've just past the 40 lb. lost mark. However, I'm 56, and have had a couple of off-plan days. I feel like my lost has been very quick given my age and less-than-perfect adherence to plan.
