Day 1, Hour 2: So far, so good!

  • Had my green tea without honey this morning for 1st time in 8 years. Strange, but I found it still nice. No spoon needed, lol!

Enjoying the omelet, it is wonderful and tasty! I added 1/4 c mushrooms to the pan w/ an olive oil spray (I have a spritzer I can use real ex vir oil) first, then shook up the omelet and it cooked up beautifully. Aroma is lovely, texture and mouth feel ideal.

    Very happy camper so far!

  • Get past the first several days and you will be one happy camper. It really is the easiest diet ever!
  • Day 1, hour 4
Ok, but starting to feel a bit spacey. Just had a wildberry yogurt drink and finishing 2 cups broccoli w/ added salt.

I know, I know the combo, but hey. It was easy.

Already had 1/2 my day's water w/ added salt.
  • be careful not to add too much salt
  • Oh crap - too much salt? I'd been going on the advice of adding more salt to hopefully preempt a headache. How much is too much? My paperwork says 1/2 tsp is mandatory, I was thinking mebbe another 1/2 tsp ...

So far, no headache - but I do feel very strange. Spacey, floaty, if I forget and stand up quickly - my head swims for a moment. Think I'll go lay down for a few and see if it passes.
  • I really don't know how much too much would be, but don't want you to retain any water from it. This is ONLY my opinion though.
  • You could need the salt then if when you stand up you get a little dizzy. Same thing happens to me once in awhile, but I'm giving up the salt for a week because I'm retaining too much water. Wish the IP foods had a little less sodium in them. I was pretty spacy for the first few days of going through carb withdrawal myself. It does pass.. Hang in there. About the 3rd or 4th day you will feel much better.
  • Salt and Dizziness
My coach told me that if you are feeling dizzy, it is because of low blood pressure. A sure sign your blood pressure is low is if you get dizzy when standing too quickly. The way to counteract that is actually by eating more salt. Weird, but true.

I felt really kind of out of it days two and three. I didn't feel drunk, but it was like my brain was on a slower speed. I did have nausea and a headache on day three, and salt in a little warm water fixed that.

You should feel great by Tuesday morning.
  • Had a rough night
    Did pretty good yesterday.

Napped on and off, hit a hunger wall 3:30, so made a romaine salad w/ cucumber ... dressing blenderized w/ 1/2 avocado, fresh garlic, 2 tsp olive oil, 2 tsp apple cider vinegar. That fixed me right up!

Then I realized avocado is on my don't list. Oh well.

Still felt pretty good, had my normal dinner 7pm. Made rasp jelly planned for 8pm ish - but only wanted a few bites. Wasn't hungry at all.

Woke up 3 am on fire hot. Had a major panic attack, nauseous. Was up and down w/ all that until 7:30, finally got a bit more sleep from there.

Drinking some green tea, vanilla pudd drink for breakfast.

Kinda feels like I'm swimming when I walk, but other than that, I'm ok. No headache so far!
  • Sounds like you are going past the worst of it with the nausea etc. It will be fine after these first few days. One thing you do have to watch is when your hunger disappears is to make sure you get all the required food in. If you don't your losses are slow. Also watch the dizziness if your blood pressure tends to be on the low side, you will need more salt than you would think.
The green tea is a great idea. I wish i could get off my morning cup of coffee but that would be inviting a headache for sure.

  • Had to work the past 2 days ...
... and wow was that hard!!

I work in a grocery store.

But I got through it, and strangely I've had very little appetite. I start to feel hungry at regular times, but have only done 2 packets and the protein/veggies meal so far. I tried to do some raspberry jelly after dinner, but could only get 2 bites. Soooooo not hungry!

I tried splitting the food into smaller portions and eating a few bites every 2 hours, but here it is 7 and I'm trying to finish broc/cheese soup w/ 1 cup added fresh broc. It's mocking me, I tell ya!
