April I read your last post about seasonal depression, I know I feel it too. There are alot more people than you know or who dare to admit it that has this kind of depression. Hang in there toots.

Gonna take an early lunch today so I can go and find my 70 lb MIL a sweater...guess I'll check out the kids sections. My arm weighs 70 lbs lol.

Good morning!
Last night my fiance and I had an argument... it all happened because I watched Oprah's show on marriage and divorce. They were explaining how important it was to ask questions and communicate with each other before getting married... that the engagement period should be used for emotional planning and preparing for the marriage and not exclusively planning the wedding day.
Well, it made LOTS of sense to me. So, I went to her website and printed off the list of 20 questions to ask BEFORE getting married. I know that Chris and I have discussed many of these questions, but not in a lot of depth. So, when he got home (from a bad day at work) I didn't give him enough time to unwind and started bombarding him with really tough questions. And when he wasn't answering them the way I wanted, I got irritiated with him, and we had an argument.

Anyway, the reason I'm telling you all this is because I'm quite proud of myself. Even though I spent the night really upset, I managed to avoid a huge eating binge. I usually do a lot of emotional eating. Before the argument, I had already accumulated enough points to be in the middle of my range. So, I knew I was in a bit of trouble. I promised myself that I was not going to binge on junk foods or bad foods. But I did let myself eat fruit. So, I ended up going 3 points over the upper limit of my range, but it was all in fruit.

When I think about it realistically, 3 points is really not that bad. Especially considering that I've been at the low end of my range all week.

I think I handled the post-argument emotions quite well!

Oh dear! LoKo, men hate those questions! They feel like they aren't living up to our expectations. I know cause I have been around a bit. And, never ask any questions right after he walks inot the door. They are such tender things that men need a bit of quiet time. Good for you for not heading for the junk food!

Leens, how IS your MIL? Is there any improvement at all? By the way, the other day I saw our live-trap in the garage and remembered the story of your mother and the skunk. I laughed all over again. Maybe you should share that one again.

Loko good post...glad you didn't eat...would have felt worse..men don't really ever want to talk to us....but if all the stars are in line they may indulge us for a moment...

I am off and running...I will check in later....Xmas party for dd4 at Kindegarten this morning....tidy and then last minute drop offs and deliveries this eve....hope you are well...get hubby to rub your shoulders and feet and have a glass of wine tonight...I was so tired after I got home from work last night I left all the lights on...hubby thought I had lost it....and maybe I did!

Hey, way to go LoKo! For wanting to get closer to Chris and for keeping yourself to the fruit. My husband is not a talker, either. Just gotta pick the right time and be open to what he says.

I've been to 2 holiday gatherings and am not doing so good. Too much chocolate and do I love it. But I'm trying to eat light at lunch and have fruit and veggies before I go so the day isn't completely planned. The good news is that DH's office party may be canceled so that will save me some calories and stress! Whoopee!

I now have obligations 3x week for working out, so maybe I can keep myself on track. I usually peter out if I'm not taking an exercise class -- you know, have some feeling of "gotta do it" -- and now I'm going to get a general membership so I have to make myself do it. Yikes! But I've made deals with 3 other moms so maybe we can keep each other on track. Whatever it takes...

HI Barca! I am sort of new hear so I don't remember you but I am glad that you are back.

Loko don't worry my hubby needs about 30 mins to unwind after work. I have learned to just leave him alone untill then. Of course by then I am about to exsplode with things I want to say. lol

I am trying to keep busy today so I don't kill anyone. I am still PMSing and all ittake is one little things and BOOOMM!! I am off and running. You name it I can get mad about it.

I'm ready for Christmas! At least in terms of gifts! Still working out a plan for food intake. I'm trying to imagine all the food that will be on the table, and trying to pick which items I like best and how much of each I"ll take. I'm trying to add up my points for each meal IN ADVANCE! So far I've planned out one meal... still several to go though!

How are you all planning to survive the meals? Any ideas? Suggestions? Advice?

Oh Barca, it is a early Christmas gift to see you posting again! Welcome home...missed you!

Hey Barca - unbelieveable! I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how in the world you were doing! I was even gonna email you - I may still do that haha - it is just so crazy around here! Please tell us what you have been up to. Thanks Leenie....I am hanging in there. Mental Health called today. I have an appointment on the 31st.

LoKo.....One thing I have learned in all my years of marriage was to give DH at least 30 minutes before I started to talk to him....when he came home from work.

Barca....I don't remember you.....but welcome back.

It's overcast here today & we still have no snow. I heard that we won't be having snow for Christmas....we always have snow for Christmas....it would be a first.

Barca, gee hmmmmmmmmmmm do I remember you ? OF COURSE I DO !!!!!!! How are you lady, gee its so nice to hear from you. Hope you can hang with us. How' are thing, how's your daughter?

Loko, MIL is my Mother-In-Law, she is very sick and frail, she weighs a whoppin 70 lbs if that. She's the sweetest thing next to M&M's

My Mom and her skunk..... Well my family just adores animals, a little to much you could say. My Mom had my brother in law set a have-a-heart trap for something, I can't remember what it was but in any case, a skunk wondered into the trap. The next morning my Mom decided to check out the trap to see if she caught anything Low and behold a skunk. She went back into the house got some SALAMI because she thought the poor skunk would be famished being he was in the trap for a whole - maybe - 6 hours. She fed the skunk, talked to it saying oh how pretty you are, here you go honey. When the skunk was done eating, he managed to thank my Mom by turning his butt around and spraying her legs.... Needless to say, she stripped down naykiddd and ran from the back yard into the house giving the neighbors a show they would never forget..... That's my Mom !

Wow, that is funny. I would be the person that is feading the animal we caught. Everytime we see and animal my husband gives me a hard time b/c I always say "come here (insert typ of animal here) i just want to touch you" He dies laughing every time. He has learned to expect it now. Sometimes I do it just to hear him laugh.

Thank goodness I only have 2 hours left. This week and has been dragging but. Even this site is slow. I was hoping more poeple would be posting but I guess everyone is busy getting everything ready for next week. Oh well, I'll keep checking back.

I am exhausted...went to dd 4's kindergarten party this morning....sweet but chaotic for 1 1/2 hours...to the mall to develop film and buy some quick gifts...off to lunch with dd 4.... to the next mall to get dd 11's birthday ring sized...few more gifts...off to pick up dd 11 at school....off to mall to drop her off with her dad to see lord of the rings....after a quick bite....back home in rush hour traffic and now home in my PJ's and my feet are killling me...I have been on the go for 7 hours....I could cry....I am gonaa watch the news, have a light beer and relax...dd 4 can watch a movie and do her playdough...then off to bed with her and I will do my dishes, laundry and wrap a few gifts....
