gave into cravings, went off plan all week--just found out I'm pregnant

  • I'd been having the most wicked cravings all week long. Not for anything new or different, for instance, one night I had a craving for something 'cold, sweet and creamy' so I had a cup of soft serve. Then the next day it was stir fry from a particular asian restaurant. I just found the cravings to be SO STRONG that I would just give in, and then beat myself up over it. I never had more than 2000 cals a day with all my indulgences.

Well, today I found out I'm pregnant--it probably goes without saying that today wasn't an on plan day either. I'm only 22--it's really not plausible for me to have a baby right now so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. Just thinking about weight, if I carried it to term, I would surely gain 20 or so lbs putting me into the 300's!

Tomorrow is supposed to be my weigh day but after a whole week spent giving into cravings I think it would just be a huge disappointment to weigh myself now. I don't think I'm going to weigh myself until this whole ordeal is over with, lest I become discouraged and give up.
  • hmm... that's a tough situation... i wouldn't worry too much about weight-loss until you resolve it if i were you (just make sure you don't gain though)...

    hang in there!
  • I'm sorry to hear that you are finding yourself in a difficult situation! Best of luck with any decisions you have to make! Hang in there, no matter what happens you will come out of this situation a stronger person!
  • Just hang in there, you have some tough decisions to make, and it is YOUR choice, no one elses. Don't let someone talk you out of what you feel is right for you. You have the right to choose.
  • Big hug. The same thing happened to me when I was in college. I gained something like 5-7 lbs in only 4 weeks of pregnancy. The cravings were something from another solar system entirely.

Wishing you the best in whatever you do. If you need to talk or want to vent, please feel free to PM me. I know how it is.
  • Giving you a big hug as well! I agree with the above poster, I wouldn't worry so much about weigh loss until you resolve whatever you want to do. And also, no one can make that decision for you.

One thing at a time. Wishing you much luck and success. =)
