So all year I have been bike commuting and doing a lot of biking in general. I'm not very skilled, but have been working on endurance. One of my goals was to learn how to jump a curb.
Yesterday my neighbor and I went out and he taught me how to do it! I was terrified, but I actually jumped a curb! Several times!
Now I just have to see if I can do it in real life on the city streets!
Great job Mahalia! I've always been terrified of jumping curbs!
Me too! Still am, but with more practice that will change!
I'm impressed, Mahalia! Can your neighbour teach you any other tricks, once you've got the kerb jump sorted?
I'm terrified to jump curbs as well! Good job on learning how!
Silverbirch,
What a good idea! I'll have to keep an eye on him to see what other tricks he can teach me. He's a martial artist, so maybe there's something there I can learn.
I love being around people who know how to do things that I don't, and are willing to teach me.
That's awesome! I've been toying with the idea of riding a bike to work, but I'm way too scared to ride on the streets. And I always here the drivers here complain about cyclists, and the cyclists complain about the drivers. I feel as if a secret war is brewing and I don't want to be in the middle of it, haha.
Do let us know if you learn anything else! What about the one where you pull the front wheel right up and cycle along, nonchanantly, on one wheel?
