I am making a promise to myself...

  • Ok, right now, August 16, 2010 at 9:20pm, I am making a promise to myself to QUIT buying candy bars and soda. Those are my triggers. I will go to the store to buy something else (even though that really isn't the real reason) and end up stocking up on candy and soda! AHHHHH! I'm DONE! I quit. I surrender. Whenever I wanna do that, i'm gonna go on here, and I'll realize I shouldn't... Now, I am gonna finish the soda I bought this afternoon, and freeze my credit card.
  • Good for you
  • Okay, about five thousand people just heard you make that promise, so you better watch out lady! We'll be on every corner.
  • Do you like diet soda? Yeah its artificial sweetner, but sometimes I need that sweet craving filled and a Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper or something can help!
  • We're gonna be watching you now!!! Think about that when you go to the store
  • That's a great commitment. Maybe you can take that couple of dollars a day and stash it in an account to buy a reward for yourself!

    That is a GREAT idea!
  • Woohoo! You can do it!

I agree with punkrprincess though, I need diet soda (1 or 2 max) to help alleviate sweet cravings sometimes.

I also keep a bag of dark chocolate kisses in my desk. They generally last at least a month and at less than 20 calories a kiss its a good alternative to the vending machine. I can usually just have 1 and be good with a max of maybe 3 per work day.

Of course if these are triggers for you as well please ignore my suggestions.
