Chic Chat for Tuesday, Sept. 24th

  • Starting us up, coffee is on, strong and leaded. Back in a minute

    -------------------------

Good Morning Everyone! It is actually cool this morning outside.

I have talked/typed so much about the band let me give you a link to a couple of pictures on our, "just getting started" web page. I took all three pictures with my new digital camera, the pictures were taken when we played at the opening of the Ford dealership a few weeks ago. The first picture is of part of the drumline, the second picture is of our Drum Major collecting trash on the bus, this child has a heart as big as he is, he is such a doll! The third picture is of the flutes, my daughter is third from the left, she is looking away, whenever she sees me coming close with a camera she looks away, BRAT!! http://www.shiloh.high.gwinnett.k12....and/page3.html

peachie have you started any new crafts?

Ruth what is going on with Hershey? Is she home yet?

    Have a good one all!

    Debbie
  • Good morning everyone! What a glorious day! Wow, can we say good mood? I got my shot in the hip yesterday, so the hiney is a little sore, but the good news is the flood is gone. Already. And I am so happy I could do a jig (if I could figure out how) Let's see how long this lasts, hmmmm.

Ya'll have a great day, I'm off for some more coffee, gotta wake up today, busy busy at work. Talk to you later!
  • Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning...

don't know why I'm in such a "decent" mood (the weather outside my window looks yuk!) but I guess we should be thankful for small favors!! Today will be busy.... some tax work for a client this morning, then a(NOTHER) job interview at 1 - this one is for a one-day per week (I think Fridays only) job - but maybe it would lead to more days??? we'll see, meanwhile, I have to interview today..... hopefully I'll know SOMETHING about SOME job by the end of the week, this is getting really really hard.

Other than that, not much happening...... oh yeah, dh got a "callback" 2nd audition for that commercial to be shot in Toronto, and he filmed a series of commercials for P.C. Richards, a local (I think) chain of appliance/electronics stores -- woohoo -- chickies, I think I'm married to an "almost" star!!!

Deb -- those are great shots! It's great to finally see (and hear??) the band you call your own! What a nice-looking group of kids....... It figures that your dd would sorta turn a bit from the camera!

Sherrie! GREAT NEWS!!!!! I'm sooooo glad you're feeling better and that the shot seems to be working! I never expected that it could work so fast! Hooray!!!!!

Sue... I'm working on (thinking about)my goals for boot camp - you are sooo inspiring!
Ruthie... where IS Hershey? I guess you're really busy getting ready for your surgery.....
Dottie... still excited about kitchen construction?
Peach..... it was great to see you back!! How's craft-ing going? I'm back to doing crochet (in small doses - to try to save my wrists which are starting to hurt again )
Jif.... I sure hope things are getting better for you at work. How's the knee? Any better?
I haven't had my coffee yet, so I can't think of everyone else.... but I hope you're all gonna have a great day......
  • Boo !
  • Good morning you busy chicks!

I am taking the wee one to drop in to burn off that extra energy she muct have bottled. I wish I could save it and sell it!

Cool but sunny morning here, truly a fall day. I was a busy girl and dug up some VERY overgrown peonies and split the roots so I can replant them in the front bed. Crossing my fingers and toes for some great plants come the spring!

I couldn't resist and took a sneak peek at the scale and lo and behold, yet another 2 pounds lost! Grand total: 9 pounds in 9 days! (yes, I am taking magnesium and potassium as well as a maternity vitamin daily)

Hope you all have a great ady!--Oh yeah, Deb, those pics were great!!
  • GOOD TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL!

Tonight there is no soccer practice! Boys will be home all evening. I will be at bunco at a friends house in the neighborhood.

We are having beautiful fall temperatures. 60-70 in the daytime and 40-50 in the evening, how perfect.

debkay, Great band pictures, thanks for sharing!
goodforme, Isn't it great to be in a good mood. Take care of your tender spots!
    leens, double boo to you!
Pooky, The energy of a little one is unending, wish I could keep up with them. Hope your labors pay off next summer with some beautiful peonies!
Jif, Maybe someone forgot to tell you that Monday was "wear black day"
Peachie, Would love to see those school pics of that little guy, and the big guy too!
Ruthie, How is that Hershey doing?
Hi to samsgrandma and all to come!

    Have a great op day!
  • The good news is that my Dad doesn't have to start on dialysis, the bad news is he has to start on insulin shots. I have to go with them today at 2:00 to learn how to do it.

The other good news is out carpet is in in the new buildings, and the phones are supposed to be in by Friday so that means we will finally get moved!!! The other bad news is that I was so excited about seeing what the carpet looked like I fell in the parking lot. Luckly I had a big Sam's package of papertowels in my arms and I felt myself falling so I put them between the ground and my knees. So my knees are okay. The only thing I really hurt was the foot that turned making me fall, and my hand that all my weight fell on.

Got a lot to do to get ready to move the business, so I'm going in early. I've got to make labels for all of the shelves (or as Avlin calls them) bins for parts. And as my foot is really sore, I'm not going to water aerobics today. I was down another 1/2 pound. Only 1/2 more pound until you all hear the BIG KLUNK as I move the weight from 250 down to 200!!!

debkay: the band looks great, and I especially appreciate the fact you were playing the EYES OF TEXAS !!!!
  • I will NEVER be able to catch up.

My pal LindaW is here and we are having a ball! A busy ball as I want to cram in as much as possible for her in this shoret visit. Tomorrow I'll take her to the airport in Ottawa and then will have Thursday to get my life in order before my surgery.

Lucy is in love with Linda and into submissive peeing whenever Linda looks at her! I think she has decided Linda is her missing mother. Hersh is still at Morna's and is not ready to be bred yet! She is being fickle. She will probabl;y be there until next week.

So chickies, I still am around, just busy entertaining and running around and trying to keep my carbs low!

    See you again soon.
  • Hi everybody. Another gorgeous day out here. I should be in the garden but I'm still pooped from overdoing it on the weekend.
Why is it I can stay OP all day but if I stay up a bit too late I get hit with the munchies? And it's not celery I'm craving either. Last night it was crackers and cheese. I must have had a dozen crackers with a bit of butter and a slice of cheddar. DARN! Back on track today but it's so HARD! This Fat Flush woe is very similar to Atkins OWL. I start my day with cranwater and crushed flax seed mixed together, followed by hot water with lemon or lime juice. Then I make myself an herbal coffee and have one slice of Ezekial bread, toasted, topped with 1 tsp of flaxseed oil and 2 poached Omega 3 eggs (regular eggs are ok too IMHO). I'm supposed to have a low glycemic index fruit mid-morning but I usually save that for my evening snack.
Lunch is usually salad with flaxseed oil and apple cider vinegar dressing and 3 oz of protein.
Mid-day I have 1 oz of protein and some raw veggies for a snack or a fruit.
Dinner is lots of low gly. veggies and 4 oz protein.
Once a day I fit in a fruit smoothie containing 8 oz of cranwater, 1 cup of frozen berries, 1 tbsp flaxseed oil, and 2 tbsp whey protein powder. Very satisfying treat. Lots of people on this woe have it for breakfast every day and save their 2 egg allowance for snacking. I'm not that keen on cold drinks for breakfast though.
All day I sip on very diluted cranwater and at bedtime I add another tbsp of ground flaxseed or psyllium husks to it. You have to keep stirring it or it clumps but it's not bad.
And that's the Fat Flush Plan ( Phase 1.5) If you can get by without the bread, it's Phase 1)
Supplements are important. I take 3 Evening Primrose Oil capsules throughout the day, also 3 CLA capsules, a good multivitamin pill and something called Crave Free. Also natural diuretics like milk thistle and dandilion. Before bed I take 3 system flushing capsules which help keep me regular.
Now, if only I could stick with this plan AND exercise, I just might have success on it.
