Morning Ladies...
Just got back from my first day on the job. Kiddos don't start until next week, so it was mostly orientation and planning type of things. It was all pretty overwhelming, but I think as soon as the actual classes begin, I will get more of a feel for what I'm supposed to be planning for (as opposed to now, when I am clueless)and plan thusly (is that a word?). It is working with a really neat bunch of ladies, but you know, there's always one that bugs you right from the start. Not that she's a bad person, but just her mannerisms and the things she says bug me for inexplicable reasons. I feel like I'm back in third grade and she's vying to be the teacher's pet. She is new too, so maybe she's just a bit overeager. I don't know, I'm so petty, but have you all got that one person at work/in your life that bugs the crap out of you for no good reason?
Kier - the @sscrack of dawn...OMG, I fell over laughing at that one. That's a new expression for me, and one I think my hubby plans on using regularly now, because I had to try it out on him right away you know. He thought it was too funny.
Deb, sounds like you have a pretty long day. Maybe being so busy will keep you really focused and OP...I'll be getting up with you at 5:30 to run, so you will know you're not the only one up at the "@sscrack of Dawn". Thanks again Kier, hehe.
Jess, I bet the brownie bar and diet sunkist gave you the funniest pucker face ever. I just hope you were lucky enough to eat it all right after a good tooth brushing so that you got that nastiness in there too. I think that as long as you're taking a multivitamin to get in all of your vitamins and minerals, that your diet is fine. Just be sure you shake it up variety wise to not get bored. A quick question -- do you get really hungry midmorning? I ask because eating something sugary with no protein will really kick your insulin level up high and when it crashes around midmorning, you might be feeling starving and tired. Just a thought...if you tried milk with it, you could get in some extra calcium and vitamin D (there you go, Jess's mom) and just stretch it out that much further. You can do just a 1/2 of milk for a point, even. Think about that. But it sounds like your popcorn is giving you lots of fiber, and that your dinners are healthy. I think that is how WW intends you to eat, as it is a flexible program developed to fit in with the way you live, not the other way around.
Marcie, the 2 point bars are sooooo nummy. I used to just close my eyes and pretend it was a candy bar. When I was teaching, I'd eat one mid-morning at my desk since I had a late lunch, and the kids would all be salivating over it. IN fact, they would ask their moms to get them those for their snacks. They're awesome.
Tonya, I have heard from many people that building a home is number one on the list of life's stressful experiences. All of those decisions to make at once can be really overwhelming. I hope that you are remembering to take some time for you, in spite of this busy time of year. I would be just as overprotective of your little girl as you are...it's scary to think about letting them fly out of the nest on their own like that. You're a really good mom!
Laura, I hope work gets better for you. I'll miss you, and I hope you're able to at least lurk in the next few weeks here and there. We'll be here when you get back!
Lori, I know what you mean about the neverending struggle. Will we ever be able to quit obsessing over what we eat and when we eat it and how many points we have left? No, I guess we just have to accept it, hard as it is. You'll be svelte and sexy for the wedding, tho, I just know it!!!
Ok, I better clean up my sty of a house...it's hard getting out early in the morning without leaving it in a shambles...
Later, Gators!
Thanks, by the way, for all your congratulations and confidence in me...it really helped me to find some confidence in myself!!!
