New Here

  • Hello,
I am a newbie here - not to weight watchers, but back on the program after a couple years of being off.
I was trying the metabolic research center but figured it was too much restriction for me and if I was going to put forth that much effort into menu planning, I should just do weight watchers!
So my mom and I are doing WW together and I am hoping to lose over a 100 lbs.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and the support system since I am just doing WW online and no meetings.

  • This is a great place to get answers to some of your WW questions and support. There are a lot of ladies on here that have been doing the program for quite a while, and quite a few newbies to WW like me.

  • Welcome back!

I am a 'repeat offender' myself, having tried WW back in 2006 but giving up after I let a move to a new state derail me. Back then at my highest weight I was 351, and managed to lose about 40 pounds on my own (with a little up and down) before rejoining WW back at the end of May last year.

I find tracking to be one of the keys to my success; the weeks when I go off plan are typically the week's when I don't bother to write down everything I'm eating.

I have also focused on goals other than weight loss; specifically, fitness goals. I started out wanting to run a 5K and am now working on doing a half-marathon and a triathlon later this year.

Also, support from my husband (who also is losing weight and getting fit), family, friends, anyone who will give it! I know some people don't like to talk about their weight loss with people and prefer to keep it private, but for me, the more people I have who are rooting me on and telling me how proud they are of me, helping me be conscious of my food choices and joining me in living a more active lifestyle, the better. You and your mom can be each other's coach and support.

Good luck! With commitment and determination, you can do this!
