  • Help! I cant seem to find something easy and good for breakfast besides the same ole thing I have been eating. I got sick of eggs and cereal every morning and need new ideas of healthy quick foods. Suggestions?
  • I love making egg-in-a-basket; that is my go-to breakfast in the morning. I also like Irish oatmeal with some apple, craisins, walnuts, and jam mixed into it. Whole oats are really just as easy as instant, and so much better for you.
  • What's egg in a basket?
  • I totally just googled egg in a basket and it looks awesome. I think I might try it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEYP9YvwWvI
  • bah, stupid work blocking YouTube - I'm emailing that to myself.
  • okay so this sounds weird - but when I am sick of breakfast I eat "non-breakfast" food for breakfast. My best is sliced deli turkey on original sandwich thins (Orowheat) with just mustard! Really does a great job of carrying me through the morning!
  • Youtube is blocked here too.

Isn't egg in a basket the breakfast cooked twice in V for Vendetta?
  • My favorite easy breakfast is a piece of sourdough toast with some avocado spread/mashed on top sprinkled with salt and pepper.

Delicious and satisfying! Mmmm I miss carbs...
  • My go to breakfast is a ham,egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and a piece of fruit..

First i use one of the Thomas English Muffins that have high fiber(if your on WW they are 1pt)
then i take a slice of deli ham, i use the prepackaged Oscar Meyer stuff) 1 slice is 0pts
i add a piece of Sargento reduced fat Colby (1 pt)
and i cook 1/4 cup egg beaters in the microwave.(spray the inside of a coffee cup with 0 calorie spray and cook for 45-60 seconds or until firm.

i put it all together and cook for about 15-20 seconds and it melts and is so good!I usually eat a piece of fruit with it like a banana or orange... its got tons of fiber, some protein and really keeps me going till lunch.

All together its about 4 points on WW or about 280 Calories

If that's the case I know what it is...
  • mm i like mexican breakfast! FF refried beans and FF cheese in a corn tortilla with salsa, either as taco or burrito sounds really really good right now. on WW probably around 4 points. and i really think protein in the morning is a good good thing

i know you're sick of eggs, but could def scramble a few and make true bfast tacos.

last night i made a batch of banana nut fiber-one muffins. they are prettttty tasty. i could see myself having a muffin and a yogurt for a quick and easy sweet breakfast.

"Flip it over and pray the egg doesn't splatter everywhere" hahaha! That looks really good. Question, though. What type of butter do you guys use?? I rarely use butter in my food--only just a TAD (like maybe 1/4 tbsp) on a piece of toast...other than that, I don't use it on anything. In the video, he uses a TON of butter.

I was gonna suggest breakfast burritos too. Scramble a couple eggs (or egg whites), cut up a jimmy dean turkey sausage patty into little pieces, maybe add a little FF shredded cheese, and some salsa...on a WW tortilla. Yummy! I even buy frozen 3 pepper & onion mix and saute some of it with my eggs. It's right around 300 calories! It's breakfast food, but doesn't taste like typical breakfast food.
  • Yeah I noticed all the butter. I just always spray my skillet with Pam when cooking eggs. I don't eat butter unless a specific recipe calls for a small amount of it.
  • I use Pam on skillets and things (they also make an olive oil based spray) - if I putting it on something I'll use Smart Balance.
  • JOSTEN FTW on that V reference!!!! HOORAY!!!

Yes, that is eggs in a basket!

I like yogurt with just a little bit of granola in the morning for a crunch or yogurt and a sliced banana.

I also make these little morning muffins. Eggs, cheese and turkey bacon (you could use sausage too). Beat the eggs, put them in a muffin tin (it's best to use a foil vs. paper holder) and bake until done. They're small and you can eat 2 very easily. Plus you can toss them in your purse and microwave for 15-20 seconds at work.

I'm also a fan of making smoothies the night before, throwing it in the fridge and then grabbing it on the way out. I love my magic bullet!

As you can tell, I don't wake up early enough to MAKE breakfast, sit down and eat at home. I get to work at 7 and usually eat around 10.
