Appetite help

  • I am still hungry a lot! Anyone have any suggestions to just stave off hunger? Let me give you a typical day...

B Egg whites, fiber one skim milk
    S grapes
    almonds
    banana
    fiber one bar
    (at school from 9-5)
L High fiber roll up with turkey and lettuce
    apple
    D Fish, potato veggies
    S 100 cal. pack/peanut butter
    Yogurt/fiber one

That was yesterday...And I was hungry and had a huge headache (not sure if it was from food or from fluorecent lights). If I could just not be hungry....
  • How many points do you have daily and how many do you eat? Make sure you eat ALL of your points! This is the minimum amount you should consume. I add big salads to help fill me up and also drinking lots of water helps. If you do salads, make sure you use mostly 0 point veggies. Lots of lettuce (I use romaine hearts) and skip any extra stuff like cheese or other unnecessary toppings. Veggies go a long way. Also watch your dressings. A nutritionist told me to not use fat free dressing, but dressing that has extra virgin olive oil in it (make sure you don't use too much because it is higher in points). The fat helps absorb all the nutrients from the veggies and the fat free stuff doesn't really do anything but keeps the calories down. It doesn't hurt, but you definitely want to get those nutrients!
  • Thanks. I drink about a gallon to a gallon and a half of pure water a day. I do at least one large salad (lettuce, cucs, red peppers, purple onions)with olive oil and vinegar dressing (use that as my oil) everyday with lunch. Lots of veggies with dinner, too. I eat real, unprocessed food (except for an occasional 100 cal pack cookie). I try to limit sugars. Here's the thing about my points. For a couple of months I did exactly the amount of points...31 plus used my weekly points of 35...after doing some calorie comparisons just for fun...I was at like 1880 calories a day (not including the extra 35 points). And I wasn't losing at all. So, I'm down to 28 to give that a try for a few weeks (works out to be about 1600 calories a day which sounds much more reasonable and still not super low...leaves for wiggle room later. So..I have been eating my 28 points and making them count. Any other thoughts on hunger besides water, veggies, protein or fiber?

    Thanks!!
