New Here

  • Hello All,
This is my first post, I just joined and am looking foward to the support on this site for my weight loss goals, as well as recipes, ideas so on. I am 26 years old, and I have 215lbs to lose, and I am going about it with a diet that is close to MRC (Metabolic Research Center)'s meal plan, but without the supplements, I workout with a trainer six times a month, and hope to work up to 2 hours of cardio a day. I just started on the 15th, and I hope to be up to all of my excersize goals by the end of the month. I have a long journey in front of me but I am determined that this is the last time I am fighting the bulge, this is my only real goal this year, and I hope to have a new lifestyle established by next January. Any advise, tips, encouragement or MRC recipes (that do NOT involve supplements) are welcome.

First Question, I have created a tracker, but do not know how to add it to my profile, anyone?
  • Hi, I don't know the answer because I'm a newbie myself, but wanted to say welcome and I wish you good luck on your journey to better health!
  • Welcome. You won't get the option to add your tracker until you have been a member for 20 days and made 20 posts - or something like that. It's to avoid spam I guess. So I don't have mine yet either, but I should be getting close! I think once you've passed that mark that option will come up under your user CP - least that's what I'm hoping! So proud of you for starting this journey!
  • Hi Gladiator!
Sounds like you're off to a great start with a good plan and the determination to get it done - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on..

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired. Try the 20 somethings, the MRC forum in Diet Central and the weight loss support forums, they're active and very helpful - also the Success stories are a definite must for motivation.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here since last fall, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
    Lee

  • Thanks so much for the warm welcome... I am looking forward to it.
