Morning chickens the coiffees in the pot ready to go!!


I am up gettign ready for DH surgery today. I wanted to eat before he had a chance to smell it and smell the coffee!

Back to work today, seems like the weekend was very short. DH and I had a fight last night, we never fight and it was not pretty. I am not sure when I will resume speaking to him, but it is doubtful that it will be this week.

Scooby, fights are so upsetting. So is not talking. I still have to give my DH the silent treatment once in a while.

Would you believe I was awake before my wee one and I woke her up? It's a miracle! Mommy's revenge......

Not much on the agenda today, just some odds and ends and the remains of my laundry to fold.

As for fights with dh, we would be world champions! We fight nearly every day over stupid things. Good thing we love as strongly as we fight--strange how some relationships work, eh?

Had a busy week last week so was not able to post. Hope all is well. Is today's Jiff's surgery?

Sue - Hope DH's surgery goes well. Nothing serious I hope.

Scooby - DH & I are always picking about this or that. I know you're po'd and probably have every right to be, but think about how you would feel if (God forbid) something happened to one of you and you never got the chance to tell him how much you love him. I know you didn't ask for my $.02 and I don't mean to butt in.

Jenny - I remember my brother's pinewood derby days. We have a really big church too - about 1,000 families. Coming from New Orleans where there is a Catholic church (& a bar ) on every corner, it was strange to be a part of such a big parish here in Houston. Like your church it's very close which I really like. DH is converting to Catholicism and will baptized and confirmed at the Easter vigil.

I was so glad to find out in the chatroom Friday nite that it doesn't look like we will be losing the chatroom after all! Yippeeeeee! Makes me glad! The chatroom for me is like a mini vacation without every leaving the building!

I kind of read the Atkins book over the weekend and I am starting it this morning! Honestly I do not know if I will be able to stick to it 100% - but I am gonna try try try! Send your low carb thoughts my way!

I also plan to walk at the mall during lunch today and drink drink drink that water!

I have to say that you've all given me quite the chuckle over the weekend! I can't believe we have such talent and wisdom on this board! And, I must add that Chickadee is a great poet!

We had a rather boring weekend. Dh studied. I cleaned. The kids made messes, so I got to clean some more.

I have been really good about the treadmill. I've been on it everyday and I feel really good. I wish I could say that I succeeded with the coffee, but I wasn't as lucky. I will try harder today. I just don't need all that caffeine.

Scooby, I've been married for 32 years and I can count the fights that we have had on one hand. It's not that I don't want to fight sometimes, but he won't fight with me.
and it's hard to fight by yourself, so after all these years I've given up on fighting.

It's going to be another beautiful day here in Southern Missouri, we haven't had much of a winter at all. About every seven years we will get a good one with lots of snow. But I for one love the milder winters.

Hey Scooby, I fight with dh, but unfortunately he does not fight with me and that sort of takes all of the wind (which I have quite alot of) out of my sails. Hope yours blows over soon, they are pretty unsettling

Jenny, the boat regatta was sort of eye opening! We let the kid do most of it except for me putting on the sealer. The kid that won has a dad who is a cabinet maker...need I say more. NOW! we know!

Kept the little guy home today and I am tying up loose ends so that I can be gone with Jiff tomorrow and that things will not fall apart around here. I think I over-estimate my job here tho!

Sounds like it's back to the grindstone for everyone today. Me too, after a weekend filled with my daughter's sporting events. I'm pooped.

Thanks Jenni and Jenny! Sometimes I thing my calling would have been to work for Hallmark.

Rachel - I hate when we have a big fight like that. It doesn't happen often and when it does, it's a doozy. I have to admit it's usually when I'm PMSing. In my 21 long years of marriage I've learned that an apology goes a long way. And it doesn't have to be for whatever started the fight in the first place, because I'll never say I'm wrong if I wasn't and neither will he, but just an apology for saying something mean in the course of the battle. At least it opens up the communication lines again. Hang in there!

I'm feeling pretty discouraged right now. I have stayed completely OP for the last 27 days and am just stuck weightwise. I was completely OP before that except for the week right before and after Christmas. I was at about this weight at Thanksgiving and haven't gotten lower since. I went up about 4 pounds after the holidays and have lost that, but I'm at 218-220 and holding. I've been exercising almost daily for the last three weeks and thought that might help get me unstuck, but it hasn't. I know about muscle being denser than fat, etc., but I'm not seeing the inches drop that I'd expect either. I'm thinking about switching to Protein Power, because I think it's a good plan, but it makes me sad because CAD is a lifestyle change for me that I really can live with and not feel like I'm on a diet. I absolutely hate the feeling of being on a "diet", if that makes any sense. I hate having to count and journal what I eat, which is one reason I like CAD so much. This sucks, but I will not give up. Even though nobody has noticed my loss, I really don't want to quit and gain it back because I will notice. Sigh...thanks for letting me vent!

Hello everyone! Hoping for a manic monday! Lots to do...had a good couple of days skiing in Jasper...back to work over the weekend and starting nights tonight, so today is my only day to get organized...weighed myself when I was away and I continue to lose, which feels great! Need to keep at it this week!

Fighting with my hubby leveled off in the last year or so...12 years of marriage and been together for 17 years! Both aries so lots of passion both ways!

-25 degrees C here...supposed to get warmer later today.

Liz freezing her big butt off in Canada!

DH drank too much Saturday and shot his mouth off! Dumb, dumb, dumb!! Now the jerk is in the dog house and I'm barely speaking to him! It's so unlike him to do that! He never talks like that! Anyway, I told him that we both need time to think this out and I want to discuss it next weekend. In other words, he can sweat it out and worry all week. Ruth and I should start an advice column on how to handle men!
Anyway...I've decided to return to physical therapy BUT on my terms. It will only be twice a week and I refuse to do certain exercises. They don't realize that there are going to be moves that I can't do. If I couldn't do them when I ws 8, I certainly can't do them now that I'm 59!

Hi all..
I haven't posted a daily in a lllooonnng time!! But I am back now!
I am off to the grocery today, and will be sticking to program only!! I need to go check out the menus first to get some ideas! I haven't paid attention to what I've been buying for a few months now, and DH and I are paying dearly for it!
DH keeps begging me to get back OP, it really helps him. I just haven't felt like it. BUT NOW I DO!!!
I have been training for my walk. I got in 3.8 miles both Sat. and Sun. So I'm on a roll. I know thats a long way form 60 miles though isn't it?? But it'll come!
I have decided that I can not and will not be the fat lady that struggles across the finish line and everyone has to wait for her!
Apperently the closing ceremony for the walk is amazing, but one of the rules is...No one gets to start until each and every walker is done! So can you imagine hearing, oh theres the final fat lady, we can get started....NO!
I don't care if there is one person behind me...just not me!
