  • HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

I hope you all had a wonderful time with your families and friends and I wish you all a very slim but healthy new year.

I enjoyed myself sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much I gained about 13lbs I never said NO THANK YOU I only said YES THANK YOU I WILL HAVE SOME!AAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

My weight this morning stands at 198lbs I think (I hope & pray) allot of it is waterretention, I did not drink enough water and we have very hot days this time of the year.
I told a friend this morning, I cant blame anyone for the weight, I took a calculated risk I knew what was going to happened nobody forced me to eat, nobody stuffed the food down my through I did it myself. AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH I feel like

O, well it will not help me to sit and sulk, today it is back to square one liters and liters of water and ONLY protein for me thank you!!!
  • Morning all-

Hensa, I am with you, protein for me today!

Yesterday was nice, went early to the store, no crowds, just could browse a bit, tried on a few coats- Wow, dressy wool coats were VERY expensive- even with the sales! Didn't get one, but I'll keep looking. Then a nice dinner at DS's and home to bed.

Today I am taking a vacation day to take my SIL to a doctor's appointment in the city, and hope to be back home early enough to cook and finish getting the house straightened up. It is not too bad, and I only have 2 days of work this week, then the weekend! I could get used to this!

Eating is going OK, but we had Chinese food New Year's Eve, which is keeping me off the scale. Other wise, I've been OK, no sugar, just still overeating portion-wise. I'm drinking a lot of water, I feel like I can't get enough in me! Partly from the heat and dryness indoors.

Not much else, I guess I'll check in again later-

    have a good one,
    dottie
  • Good Morning,

Got a tea going then hitting the showers and off to a work out at the Y (Sweatin to the oldies), haven't done this work out yet. I only joined the Y a month or so back, what with the holidays I kinda didn't have time to go.

Back to work today for me for the afternoon only. Mind you work consists of taking a Client to the casino here in Orillia, then shopping.

Nice to be back and looking forward to getting to know all of you

    Enjoy your day everyone.
  • Hump Day so soon?
Amazing what a good night of sleep can do. Miss Lucy decided not to yip and howl last night so we all feel rested. She was in the back room with the woodstove - maybe the warmth and crackling noises did the trick. (She is in a 4' by 4' pen, by the way, so don't worry about the stove.)

Lovely day arriving here - sunshine and 10F - normal for January. I plan to do poop patrol in the dog yard and also give Lucy a romp in the snow. A trip to the grocery store is also in order as most of my veggies are nearly at the compost stage.

Can't seem to shake this damned cold! When I breathe, it's like a coffee perk in my chest. Had a couple of asthma attacks yesterday - the first in a few years. I am going to check with the Doc today if I can get an appointment. I am sure half the township has the same problem so chances of an appointment today are slim. We were at the Reeve's NY's Day Levee yesterday and there was lots of hacking and coughing going on there.

As expected, our friends showed up with oysters and champagne and stayed for roast lamb. I did potatoes around the roast for them but resisted. I had some frozen green and yellow baby beans which I sauteed with olive oil and garlic and served with basil butter. Just yummy! Sometimes you luck out!

    Have a great day, Chickies.
  • Good Frosty morning everyone!

Woke up and did the usual dash to get Miree and dh off to work and school. Heard on the radio that right at this moment it is -20 degrees celcius!!! Don't even ask me in farenheit, all I know is that it is freezing!!!

Ruth, it really is going around, everyone here has it too. My mother sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen.

Wendy, so good to see you back here! Have fun at the Y today!

Dottie, I hear you on the Chinese food, that stuff is very salty and can really throw off your program. I always drink a lot of water when I eat it becasue I get so thirsty.

Hensa love, forgive yourself. We all have backward slides and it is normal. No use beating yourself up over it--look forward and onward and follow your program to the letter and I'm sure the weight will just come sliding right off!

As for me, lots of laundry and reorganizing my office. What a disaster! Have a good day chickies!
  • HAPPY 2002 TO ALL!
    Good Morning Ladies!

Today is day one of recomittment and I have the right attitude. Today is also my first day back to work

We had a lovely holiday, Christmas was great and New Years Eve was a lot of fun. We went to a nearby hotel with a couple other families with kids our boys' age. The kids swam for hours and played games. Everyone brought dishes to pass and we all had a great time. I was in bed with my little Darren by 1:00. Don and dh were up until 2:30 when police told everyone it was time to return to their rooms.

It is 3 F here this morning, brrrrr! but beautiful. We have had the nicest snowfall over the last 2 weeks. We currently have at least 2 feet of snow, it is light and fluffy. The tempuratures have been great for the boys to spend a lot of time outdoors sledding and snowboarding.

Hey Hensa, you are only human, the added weight will come off quickly with a little determination.

Numberonewendy, have fun at the Y, I will begin going there next week.

Ruth, glad little Lucy slept better last night. I am having difficulty sleeping myself, I have that nasty cough that you have been describing, only mine comes at night and I cannot seem to stop coughing. Just read an old posting of yours, inter-species Lesbian relationships. I think my mother has had a few since my father died, 30 years ago. The first was with a Chiwawa (sp?) named Toady, and her current relationship is with a Carin Terrier named Mishka. If I ever lost my dh, I believe that I may follow the same route, although mine would, just be inter-species, I tend to go for the guys!

Pooky, you always seem to be rushing in the mornings with DH and Miree, just wait until you have another one to get ready in the morning!

Good luck to all in 2002, stay op!

  • Good 2002 Morning Chickies!
Hey there chickies! I am practicing writing and typing out 2002! It's gonna take me awhile to get use to this new year! wow! Time sure flies!

I am back at work today and have been opening mail since I got here.

Yesterday we had 5 minutes of sleet here in Lake Charles, Louisiana. You guys would have laughed your heads off at us because of our silly excitement over a little bit of falling ice! We just don't see that sort of thing around here. Really cold and windy today! Makes me glad to have a desk job!

I'm thinking the chatroom will be much busier (hint hint) now that the holidays are over and everybody is trying to get back on track, but I just checked and nobody is in there! rats!

I hope everybody has a great day!

    hugs, Cathy
  • Morning all!!

GOt up at 5:50 this morning and headed to the Y. Walked on the Treadmill for 20 minutes, tommorrow strength training..I am starting slow so I don't burn out.

  • Good morning all!
Hello Ladies! Gents too if there are any reading this.
This is my last day of vacation.Back to work tomorrow.I was on lay-off for 10 weeks and then had vacation today,so,it's going to be a culture shock again for me tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great day.
Hensa,I've been there, believe me!I'm just getting started again.Gained about 30 pounds in 3 months, besides all I had on me to begin with.
I just started last wed.& had been down 10.This morning I'm up one from yesterday, but I was legal all day,so I'll just exercise more today.
    See you all later,lighter. Baylee
  • Hi Everyone!

Today is dreary and cool here. I'm sort of sick of the winter weather because it just will not snow! Gray and rainy can only be digested for so long. I sure am looking forward to Spring.

Today was bill day and then we have to run errands. Nothing too high tone here!

We are trying desperately to potty train DD#2 (she'll be 2 in 2 weeks) and she just will not go in the potty. She won't wear a diaper and she can hold it for a REALLY long time, but she just won't get on with it! The carpet cleaning is getting a lot of use tho-!

Ladies, I hope each of you has a great day!
  • Morning, chicks.

Beautiful blue and white morning here.

Sounds like we're starting to get back to normal after the holidays.

I'm heading into town today -- to make some returns (love those credit card credits!!) and WW. Weighing in again for the first time in 3 weeks -- it won't be pretty, I'm sure. But, it could be a lot worse and I'm grateful for that. I really think the walking helped (even though I took a 10 day break while the house guests were here). I'm doing a little over 4 miles in a little over an hour...it's only been a few months since I struggled to walk a mile in 20 minutes...so that's progress I'm happy with and grateful for. BUT I'm really needing to get back to eating more good quality protein, fruit, and low carb vegetables -- those seem to go by the wayside when I'm eating more sugar (and bread!) than normal. The other thing I really struggle w/is the extra cooking I have to do when the kids are home. The more I cook, the more I eat! Maybe perusing the recipe threads would help me straighten up my attitude and actions. A big pot of low carb soup sounds good and it's something I can grab any time w/out guilt.

Anyway, I'm prattling -- I know that! Sorry!

    Have a great one. It's a gift!

  • I just got home from physical therapy. Oy vey! That therapist kept talking about pressure points. Well, if she wouldn't have stopped pressing that one spot, she would have had a pressure point to the nose! Four more sessions are booked!
I have dinner in the crockpot...Arby type sandwiches. It is a WW recipe and absolutely wonderful. Now, I'm going to take my water jug and head to the sewing room.
Take care all and God bless!
  • Hello All,

Just wanted to say hi and that I'll be here from time to time as I will definitely need some support in this journey. I've been off program for over a year and what a year it has been. However I refuse to dwell on the past and I am back on program now....
  • Snow, glorious snow!!
You wouldn't believe what is happening here is South Carolina. Over Christmas I was in a T-shirt and now it's snowing like crazy. Crazy is the operative word here. Nobody here knows how to drive in it, myself included. Anyway, it's supposed to continue til tomorrow and who knows when they will open everything back up. The last big snow we had stayed on the ground for a week, and the traffic downtown was so awful. Cars were running out of gas and just sitting in the middle of red lights. The buses stopped running and nobody could get home. Just crazy!!

Little Tommie was out in the snow and turning various shades of red and blue. Boots are soaked and so are mittens, so decided to call it quits for now. She's threatening not to speak to me, she's so mad!

    Have a great day, everyone!
  • Slender for Sixty
That's my new motto. In February I will turn 59 and then I have just one year to lose a LOAD of pounds. I am recommitting to my WW program, lots of water, journalling every single bite and staying lower carb. I pigged out so bad over the holidays but at last Friday's weigh-in was only up a pound and a half. I'm sure it will be much more this Friday. It always catches up to us eventually, especially when we're just sitting around on our fat patooties too. I did make it to the pool on Monday but was too lazy this morning. I'm committing for Friday though and I'm going to nag DH until I'm blue in the face to get this aero-glider machine all tightened up and level so I can work out on it while watching Y&R each afternoon.
If I can just get my weight to under 200 lb by my 60th birthday, I will be a happy old gal. Think I can lose 80 lb in a year on WW? So far it's taken me six months to lose just 18! Oh well, at least it's been down and not up which is a step in the right direction.
Nice to see so many newbies and some old friends returning.
    Greetings and welcome to all.
    LindaBC
Ruth I know from our other forum that you have bronchial pneumonia. That's nothing to fool around with. Take your meds and get your rest. We want you WELL.
