Holly, you need to get the book - LOL! I think you can find it for less than ten bucks. Bread is not allowed until Phase III & it only states whole wheat bread.

I'm not sure what lefse bread is but this diet plan isn't just about low fat & low sodium. It's also about whole grains which include fiber.

OK, I looked it up and it sounds like it's potato bread. Although it isn't stated as such, this diet seems to also be about eating low glycemic foods which help keep our blood glucose and insulin levels steady. I don't think white potatoes should be introduced until Phase IV, or maintenance.

If this is simply potato bread made with white flour, then it truly isn't the best thing compared to whole grain bread made with whole grains and offering a good amount of fiber.

This eating plan doesn't tell you never to eat something like this (in Phase IV) but to do so in moderation. IMO, I wouldn't feel full after eating bread made with white flour and it would start my binge cycle again if I started eating things like this.

No problem, Holley. We have the same goal so we'll have to keep each other in line. I always think it's unfair being short & petite even though I have the same appetite (or more) than my 6' husband (who is super skinny). My appetite is definitely bigger than his since he doesn't seem to think about food at all & he definitely eats to live.
