Smile Starting Fat Smash.

Whoo-hoo! my first real diet plan. I never really thought I could stick with a diet plan so I always just made my own. But the Fat Smash diet really caught my eye, because of all the people I've talk too that have tried it swear by it, plus all the stories I've heard here.

I ordered the book last Wednesday so it should be here in a few days. Is there any advice for me? I know a diet plan is only as good as your will power to stick to it. Are there any downsides to Fat Smashing? something you just don't like about it?
We all know the upsides. ^_^ (losing weight)
any warnings I should know about Any help would be great

WELCOME!!!
There is nothing I dislike about this diet. This is the first diet I have ever done and I found it to be easy. I would suggest that you make a list to take to the store and stop at the fresh veggies and fruits first. Try to buy fresh beans, and read labels. Also its VERY important to eat every 3-4 hours. You will always be full. Good Luck to you!

My advice is stay prepared. Have OP snacks at work and at home. Plan out your meals. Check out the recipe section and mix it up a bit...

I agree with Crystal. There is nothing to dislike about this diet. It is important to eat often and drink water. Don't forget to exercise!

I did not get to exercise yesterday for my first day of Detox, but I will start today. Yes, exercise is important. I love the recipe thread. It has really helped me to see that I don't have to make this boring.

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone ^_^
My book hasn't come in yet. though I'm crossing my fingers that it will be there when I check the mail today. lol.
I'm very happy to hear that there is little on the down side of this plan. other than the fact that things can get a bit boring from time to time. I've also been looking at the recipie thread and gathering wonderful ideas.

Well I got the book on Friday, read it over the week, went shopping on Halloween and started the diet yesterday.

I felt really good about it, the only downside I had so far was that I was very hungry by mid afternoon. I had eaten about 3 hours before and it felt like I didn't have a bite all day. But dinner went well and I didn't feel hungry all night.
I only had this strange nagging feeling, like I should be eating something. It was really bugging me so I just chewed on some sugarfree gum to give my mouth something to do.

My breakfast today was better than yesterday, so I hope it will keep me form being hungry until snack time/lunch.

Hi Sakai,

This is my 2nd day on the diet and I had that same feeling yesterday of feeling like i SHOULD be eating something, and was a bit headache-y from the lack of caffeine. I'm feeling better today though. I haven't felt hungry at all - I think the feeling of "should be" eating something is coming from sugar withdrawals. My fiance and I pigged out on Halloween candy the night before starting this diet so I'm sure that didn't help!

It's going to be a real challenge for me because I'm a total vegetable-hater. However, one appealing side is that I've needed to wean myself off having meat so many times a day. I have endometriosis and I've been reading all these studies pointing to over-consumption of meat worsening (and perhaps even causing) endometriosis and its symptoms.

ANYWAY, Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I sneak in!

SmartButt and Sakai...its good to see you here. I have went through phase 1 and had 5 days of phase 2 and am on phase 1 again because I partied with my kids Halloween.(they are 10 and 2) Phase 1 is easy for me after I get used to eating on the time schedule, like you I FELT like I should be eating something. It is easy and I dont mind the food at all. I do miss my coffee but I made sure I had a assortment of herbal fruit tea. Good luck to you ladies!

Hi SmartButt and Krystlewv.
Oh man. this is the end of my second day. It went much better but I'm dying for meat >_<.... I'm such a meat eater. it's rare that I go a day without some sort of animal on my plate.
I cheated a little by putting a bit of cheese on my stuffed Bell Peppers that I had for dinner. It just didn't seem right to eat it without cheese ^_^ it was just a tiny amount anyways.

I have been having a constant slight headache today, nothing major, but enough to know it's there. I don't know what it is from, being that I don't drink much caffeine other than a bit of tea ever so often. so that's weird for me @_@.
It's really strange that I'm paying so much attention to my body on this diet.

Sakai, I make a lentil soup and I can almost convince myself there is meat in there. Lentils cook up thicker. Try them in a soup and see if that helps with your meat craving.

One thing I've noticed is that this diet is perfect for me, for learning portion control. The foods we're allowed to eat I like somewhat, but don't crave. I'm learning that my problem with portion control is always with foods that I crave and satisfy my cravings with: junk food, fast food, etc.

Now when I eat one of my meals I'm only eating to keep myself from having the hungry feeling. I enjoy the food but I'm not dreaming about it or looking forward to it - and for me this is a good thing. I'm totally one of those "live to eat" instead of "eat to live" people, and I can see this being a turnaround point for me. It's so easy to portion control when you aren't trying to portion out a pepperoni pizza or cheeseburger! hehehe

I agree 100% SmartButt
Like right now I'm looking forward to dinner only because I'm hungry, not because I can't wait to eat all the yummy food I use to eat. And when I do eat, I'm eating very little. (which my explain why I'm always hungry between meals) It's not that I don't like the food, I just don't crave it, so I only eat as much as I need, not what I want.

Good luck on this diet. I too have heard good things about it, but didn't know anyone who tried it. I do weight watchers (new) but will follow your progress. Keep up the good work!!!!!
