I ordered the book last Wednesday so it should be here in a few days. Is there any advice for me? I know a diet plan is only as good as your will power to stick to it. Are there any downsides to Fat Smashing? something you just don't like about it?

I agree with Crystal. There is nothing to dislike about this diet. It is important to eat often and drink water. Don't forget to exercise!
(they are 10 and 2) Phase 1 is easy for me after I get used to eating on the time schedule, like you I FELT like I should be eating something. It is easy and I dont mind the food at all. I do miss my coffee but I made sure I had a assortment of herbal fruit tea. Good luck to you ladies!
