Well, since I haven't been on plan full force the scale shows it. I'm up 3 from my ticker. But, I'm back on today! I'm almost caught up with my scrapbooking and I'll be back on the board full time by next week! Hope you all have a great OP day!!
Good morning! Its cool, but not raining here...I just got in from a walk. I did not go as fast or as far as my usual, but I was delighted to get it in. I twisted my knee last week, and boy have I been having a time with it! Three ibuprofens and determination got me out this morning... I have my McCanns oatmeal cooling so I can eat it for breakfast.
MMM has me up two like Thin, but since I was not able to walk with the knee much last week PLUS being on vacation with a chef son in law who made homemade apple pie every night, I am not going to complain! It could have been MUCH worse!
This week, I am determined to get my walks in every day...and even Saturday and Sunday if at all possible. If it is raining, I will try and go to Super Wal Mart and walk. I will leave my purse locked in trunk of my car to keep me from buying anything though!
I finally ordered some of my pastel paper. Tom told me he would pay for it, so I ordered it Friday evening. It probably will not get here for a few more days, but I just can't wait! Walking this morning, I was noticing the clouds and wanting to paint them. I need to transfer my pictures from the mountains too, and plan using some of them. There are no large events needing my attention anytime soon, so I am going to start working on stripping the wall paper in my bathroom, and get ready to paint and finish it up. After that, we will work on the floor in the den. There is so much to be done, but now that Tom has almost finished the plumbing, we can start on the repairs. I hope and pray I can get ruthless in my throwing stuff out! I have SO much junk! (it comes from being an art teacher, I am sure! You save everything you MIGHT be able to use....)
Ok, I have written a book. Sorry. My oatmeal is probably cold now. I will be back later!
FRUIT: I am glad you are back on track! It is good to see you...
THIN: I hope you had a blast on vacation! Keep us posted on what the doctor says about Rachel....
I just have a second. I am swamped here. It rained ALL day Friday Night and Saturday. There was lots of flooding. Luckily, we did not get any. Our church did and school. It smelled like meldew during mass.
MMM has me down 1 pound, hope it sticks. We went to Outback last night, DD& I split a meal and I got a separate salad and veggies. It was plenty for both of us and we were not miserable.
Monet, glad you are back. we missed you.
Thin, glad you had a good time.
Fruit, glad you are back on track. Sure wish I lived closer so I could see that scrapbook.
Got to run. Will check out all I missed from Friday on, on last weeks board when I get a chance.
I had such a GOOD DAY!!!! First thing, my Boss gave me PRAISE like you wouldn't believe!!! My AR was right at 100% and that made me feel so good!
I think everything is clicking now and I know I don't feel as bad as I did!
This is a drive by as I have to go pick up Kate from therapy, but I'll be back!!
Hi everyone,
Down one for the week. I'm happy about that. I can see that I am going into my slow losing mode. But just so the direction is DOWN I am happy.
Solly, the game was great. I was really impressed by UK. They moved the ball at will between the 30s and I don't know why they couldn't score more. We must have done something different at the half because they shut the Cats down in the second half. Or maybe the Cats did something different. Anyway, we were worried there for a while. Y'all have a good little QB.
I just found out this morning that we have a leak in one of our water pipes and that the pipe is in the slab foundation of our home. So we are going to have to have our house re-piped. They are coming tomorrow to do it and it will take all day. A big job and it will be a mess. They will have to tear some holes in walls. Then after that, my original constructiion crew will come and restore everything. UGH!!! And not good for the pocketbook either. So, I didn't walk today because I was waiting for the plumber. And tomorrow, who knows. My life is in upheavel again!!
I will be doing quite a bit of travelling the next couple of weeks. We will be up in Gainesville for the next 2 weekends and I will be gone 3 days next week when I go to visit my father on the occasion of his 90th birthday. So, if you don't see me here it is not because I don't want to be here.
I'm getting a cold. Shelley had it last week and has lobbed it off to me this week. BUT, I have a secret weapon. Zicam. The gooey stuff you put in your nose every four hours. It's supposed to cut it off at the chase and shorten the duration and lessen the symptoms of the cold. It's worked before. I also have the Zicam Cough Mist. Some of you may remember my near death experience last year when I first used this stuff and I practically wanted to go to the hospital because the taste was THAT BAD! Well, I've gotten good at it now and learned that if you spray it right past your tongue and directly to the back of your throat, you don't taste it much and it works GREAT! So, I'm properly armed and ready to roll.
Well, today was my first shopping day without my favorite pain in the neck tagging along. And, well...it was nice! I took my car to the carwash and vaccuumed and then went to Penney's to buy my mom a birthday present and didn't have to keep my peripheral vision in high gear for a change. And I pulled into Price Chopper parking lot and didn't have to hear, "Ugh! Not THIS place again!" So...it was nice! I was going to even pop on over to Michael's but I maxxed out my budget on food.
So, tonight I'm having Tilapia, sauteed in fresh lemon juice, garlic, half an onion and fresh rosmary from my garden. And a salad with green leaf lettuce and radiccio with sliced cherry tomatoes.
Speaking of tomatoes...my tomatoes never, ever turned red this year. I pulled a couple off that were big and let them ripen on my window sill, but that's never the same. I didn't do anything different this year than last year and last year I was nearly overcome with tomatoes! Same kind and everything! Some say it was the heat this year.
And...my SON is getting an AWARD at school Friday!! I think it's for his awesome penmanship. On the first day of school, he wrote his name on a page he was coloring and the assistant teacher said, "Wow, you're handwriting is about as good as Mr. Pettit's!" In a folder the teacher sends home on Fridays, he wrote "Excellent handwriting" and in the parent comment section, I wrote "I know!" with a smiley face.
Gator: Excuse my French, but that really sucks about your leak (I know, that's not really French). Have you ever seen the movie Money Pit?
Bob: I'm not sure what an AR is, but I'm glad your's was 100%!!
Solly: Yay! The rain has finally stopped! Enjoy the game!!
Monet: So glad you are back and away from the evil apple pies!! Actually, I bet you really enjoy your chef son-in-law. What a treat is has to be to be around him on a family trip like that. Between him and you cooking, who could ever consider dieting?
Thin: The two pounds will go away. Don't feel bad about it.
Missy: You're probably up three because you've been sitting on your tushy scrapbooking Any news from the courts, etc? I've been thinking about you!!
Okay...I have to go eat my salad. It sounds good, but I always have to force salad down because I really don't like them.
we're back from the doctor and we know....NOthing more than we knew before! We are going on Wednesday morning for labwork and she (the doctor) thinks that the problem is either medical or a portion control problem. Geniuses aren't they ? She says that it sounds like we are eating the right kind of foods, but we will go back in next Wednesday to review everything with the dietician again and see what the lab results are, then maybe we can make some progress.
I'm taking Sean tomorrow morning to get an ingrown toenail worked on. What fun! Maybe I can check in here after we get home.
Rachel got new pointe shoes on Saturday and I have to get the ribbons sewn on so she can somewhat break them in before her next ballet class on Thursday. They are having auditions for their Nutcracker that they are doing in December, so what a great time for new shoes (not!)
Hey everyone! I played with a very cheerful baby most of the afternoon! Laura was getting a bit put out with me. hehe... I just can't leave him in his swing or pack and play when he is cooing and talking. When he is not fussy from gas, or hungry, he is so cheerful! Its so much fun.
TECH: I sure hope your cold gets better fast! I hate having a cold...
GATOR: Congrats on that pound gone! I can SO relate to the plumbing woes. We had a pipe break April 15 of last year..and Tom has been replumbing the whole house from polybutylene to copper since. The last piece was the worst...he had to pull the vanity out of our bathroom and cut open the wall. We have holes in the walls all over the place...but there is only one piece of the polybutylene left in the garage ceiling now, and we are ready to start repairing! We could not afford to pay a plumber to have it done...all the estimates were over $5000, so Tom just read up on it and did it himself on the weekends. James is removing the wall paper in the bathroom today and I am shopping tomorrow for a medicine cabinet, and paint. Hooray! Lucky you that they will be done in a day!
BOB: I am so delighted that you sound so upbeat and good! Yay!
SOLLY: Yay, for the pound! You are doing great! It has been kind of slow on here today. There are some folks missing again. KayeC has not checked in, nor has Country, and SEF has disappeared again. Keng posted while I was gone...I wish she would stick around more. And Pancho...I am wondering how things are going for her. Didn't she have that biopsy last week?
Off to get dinner on the table...we are having a chicken poblano casserole made with poblano peppers from my garden, and guacamole made with tomatoes from our garden. (TECH, not sure why your tomatoes would not ripen. Ours ripen faster in hot weather. Did you have plenty of sunshine?)
THIN: We were posting at the same time. I hope you can get something to go on from the dietician, and the lab work. Tell Rachel good luck on the auditions for the Nutcracker. Did I tell you about the new Whole Foods store that opened? Oh MY GOODNESS it is incredible! Would you be up for a meet up at it? Talitha might be able to come, and we might be able to convince Fillise to come over for it.
Monet-Where is it? I would love to meet up, but it may be tricky with all the kids activities. We have the entire week off for Thanksgiving and two and a half weeks at Christmas. I can't beleive I am suggesting that, but it is right around the corner.
I have another question. I am hoping to move away from carbs with my lunch and start eating more veggies. I love my sandwich for lunch and I usually have grain pretzels or sunchips occasionally. I would like to try something new. I though of maybe a pasta salad type thing but with some green beans or something to replace some of the pasta. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions they have tried?
Good evening my bustin' buddies. Myw eight was down .8 of a lb so, I guess 2 lbs total loss in 2 weeks on weight watchers. I was sooooo good last week!! But I did get TOM this morning. I'm crampy and miserable. I swear I'd jsut rather be pregnant again. Why can't my body take a break like most breastfeedign women? I always start right back up like clockwork. Oh well, at least we know I'm not prego again
I did water aerobics and will go again tomorrow. Hopefully I can make it 3 days this week. I'm going to try to walk the days that I don't get in, but that also depends on trav being home.
Ok, I don't have tiem for replies, as usual.
But I'd LOVE A WHOLE FOODS DATE with MOnet and everyone else
Thanks for the sympathies, everyone.
Monet, we are going FROM copper to something else. I don't know what the something else is. Something like PVC but not exactly PVC. Here in Florida, copper is what is giving up the ghost in everyone's homes. The water is so hard down here, and then when my house was built they used the pipes to ground the electricity, so that added something else that would cause the copper to get pinhole leaks. And finally, we are the lightening capitol of the US, and the lightening does something that weakens the pipes. I've known this for years but never thought we'd actually have to do something like this. Whatever we are getting is guaranteed for 25 years and I will be 88 then--maybe not even alive! So it's not a worry for me!
Well, it's late. Gotta hit the hay.
