Hi,
Im a new member, and a sugar/choc addict.
Its the one thing that really spoils my dieting,
When theres nothing sweet in the house, i crave it, then
binge when i get hold of some.
If it is in the house, i cant seem to control my eating until
every last crumb has gone.
Has anyone any advice?

Oh Moon Raven, welcome. I am fairly new too, but I can assure you that you are in the right place, with the right people. I could have written your post myself! All I know is, check out the book "Sugarbusters" from the library, or buy it, and life will turn around. I've only been trying this for a little over a week and I feel soooooooooooooo much better, emotionally, physically...the people on here are great and very supportive, so keep checking in here and stay strong!

Howdy all. I didn't know Monet was going away. Hope she has fun.. Well had some toast for breakfast. I could have done better and had some cereal or eggs. But we were watching a movie so I wanted something to grab quick. Can't wait to see if I lost anything this week. I sure feel like I have.

Ginger- Howdy gal. Hope you're having a good Sunday.

Moon Raven- Welcome to the board. Sugar Busters is the best, especially if you have a sugar problem. Be sure and get the book. Lots of times you can find it on ebay cheap! Ask lots of questions.

Bob- It sounds like you're having a week end of football and movies. Would love to go to a tailgate party I've never been to one.

Well I'll be back later...

Hug--To find the place to make a weight ticker go to UserCP at the top left of this page. Click on it and then click on edit signature in the left column. You will then see where you can make a weight ticker.

Moon--Sugar Busters, as you have guessed, is a way of eating that eliminates sugar or simple carbs that turn quickly to sugar after you ingest them. You can decide to be a Sugar Buster and then by dint of your will try to overcome your urges to binge on sugar. I might suggest that you combine sugarbusters with something that will help you discover what is "eating you" and driving you to use sugar as your drug of choice to handle the stress, anger, loneliness, resentment, or whatever you are trying to ddeal with. With these two tools, I pray that you will have victory over the grip of sugar in your life. Good luck to you.

BOB--Of course the Gators are saints. As the ole ball coach used to say in his UF days before he became a cock, "God smiled on the Gators." The only unsaintly action was when Ainge tried to taunt his opponents and the visiting fans when he did the Gator chomp when UT was ahead. Bad mistake! That brings on bad karma and also the wrath of God. Naturally, that was the real reason y'all lost!!
Actually, it was a good game and very exciting to watch.

Susan--Congratulations on the W. Hope I will see you in Auburn. And also hope your church parking staff will see fit to reserve a spot for some out of towners who would love to wander around Auburn and spend a little money there after the game. Tell them I used to be a Methodist! I know all about John and Charles and Susanna Wesley, and about how his heart was strangely warmed on Aldersgate Street on the way to a church service. Hope that helps.

We had a party last night. Stayed up until about 1 edt. Too excited to sleep. Ate pretty well, but did have about 5 ritz crackers and some cream cheese with hot pepper jelly. That and some squash casserole that had some sugar in it were my indiscretions. Hopefully my weight won't show it tomorrow.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole game...LOVED IT!!! My Brother just called and he said that 80 miles to Corbin was awfully long...he was damning the last 3 minutes...and since he used to play ball in the BIG STADIUM...he felt extremly bad!!!
Glad y'all had a good time...I wondered why you were up so late on that one post...I just thought you were pulling one of my stunts!

Default Good Monday Morning!

I'm finally starting to recover from Satruday. It was close to 100 degrees in the Stadium and even though I was drinking water throughout the game, I was soooo dehydrated. Yesterday I went to church, then ran some errands. I got home about 2:30 so tired I could barely move. I laid down for a nap and slept hard until about 7 pm! I'm really hoping that it will be cooler for the next game!

The good news is that when I'm hot, I don't want to eat, so I sweated off 5 pounds on Saturday! Last night I still was not hungry, so I did a lite supper of grapes, cheese and an apple. This am natural PB on WW toast.

Moon Raven--Welcome! The sugar addiction is bad--but you can get over it! Most of us found that after the first 2-3 weeks, when we got the refined sugar out of our systems then we didn't crave the sweets anymore. You think it won't happen, but it will!

Gator, They aren't taking reservations, but I'm going to see if I can get you an exception seeing you are from out-of-town! Knowing the Methodists won't help at the Presbyterian Church!

Bob--You recovered yet?

Missy--Like I said, it could have gone either way with no shame to either team. It was a really physical game. I was sore, from listening to the hits all day!

Toni--Hey!

Ginger--Isn't amazing how much better you feel when the sugar is out of your system?

Time to get to work--lots to do today.

Have a great Op day everyone!

Susan

I feel sluggish...like a wet sponge. Derek was home all last week with me and we ate like pigs, but generally just enjoyed each other's company for a change. We took the boat to Alexandria Bay for lunch...hung out and played Tetris on our DS's and 'things' . It was really nice. We also cleaned out a lot of piles of total junk and clutter and today I'm going to fine tune clean the leftovers and make my house shine. So, I hardly even turned on the computer last week, much less came on the board. I didn't even lurk So, I'm sorry to say I don't know what's been going on in everyone's world. I'll just start off with this week. I really enjoyed my time with him, BUT, he's out on his first day on the new job today and as soon as I'm finished with this post, I'm goign to saddle up Junior and walk him to the lighthouse and back. I already have my sweats on. Today I start from scratch and begin anew! Its actually the day I've been waiting for all summer. No excuses!! The day I'm finally all alone and can exercise, diet and clean to my heart's content!! The dog, too, has been waiting for this day! I'll spend the first ten minutes waiting for him to stop hopping up and down so I can get his collar on. He LOVES walks!!

Oh, and Kyle has been doing GREAT in kindergarten. His only complaint is that there are too many rules. Our only complaint is that they STILL have NOT listened to him read or acknowleged that he has perfect penmanship or suggested any alternatives to keep him going on a forward track while in school. BUT, Kyle loves going and has lots of new friends, so that's a plus. The jury's still out on whether or not he will remain a school kid. If they don't start acknowleging his 'smarts' and start suggesting alternatives to his day, I'm pulling him and home schooling him. I can take him to the playground myself for socialization.

Okay...some quick replies...

Fillese: Well, dehydration isn't the ideal way to lose, at least you lost some!!

Moon: My advice to you is to give it one solid week of really sticking to the Sugar Buster's way...or even some people give it one week of NO carbs, which equates to meat, eggs and some lettuce....to totally crush your sugar addiction. Once you get over your addiction...the first couple days are the hardest...this way of eating is a cinch! It's satisfying and very, very healthy for you. Good luck!!

Bob: I'm not much into college football, so I'll just and say HI! I'm more of an NFL girl...MY BILLS WON!! And so did PEYTON!! (I love that guy!! )

Gator: Hot pepper jelly...cream cheese...ritz crackers...be proud that you only had a half dozen or so! I would have had a TON!

Toni: Toast and a movie for breakfast? I hope you lost! Let us know what the scale says!!

Gincon: I'm so sorry I haven't been on to thoroughly welcome you on board. How has it been going? You sound like you're digging your feet in and are ready to take off like a pro! I think the first week or so on this way of eating are very dramatic. Not only do you see the scale move, but you feel it in your metabolism and general well-being of your body!

Monet: I hope you are having a fabulous time wherever it is that you are going!!

Okay...time to saddle up the dog and get my walk in!! It's supposed to be 80 today...in a fluke warm mid-september day up here in the North Country! Will check in later!!!

Happy Monday Ladies.

We will have to keep the board going strong this week in Monet's absence so she will be proud of us. Starting it Sunday, really through me this morning. I was surprised to see so many posts for a Monday morning.

Weekend was good. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We walked around Bardstown's bourbon fest for about 2 hours. Had a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch. Wanted the bbq, but thought the chicken was a better choice. The wedding was nice. Strange, but I won't get into that. Food was ok. Not on plan, but I stuck to small portions so I was ok. No cake.

Yesterday we did house stuff. I went shopping and about 2 outfits and a jacket. DD & SIL came for dinner with their 2 dogs. The puppy bites constantly. I'm partial to the older one.

I was done 1.5 at WW on Sat. This morning my scale was on drugs and gave me all kinds of numbers and never the same on twice. Plus I didn't get my diuretic in yesterday, so I'm sure that affected it. I am running to the potty all the time today.

The girls have their last VB game (again) tonight if it doesn't rain, but if it does i think they may move it to the gym. it is supposed to really cool down this week. I made a pot of chili for a quick dinner tonight. The first sign of fall - chili.

The lady at WW has made an exercise challenge. I guess I will participate since I get regular exercise. One was 10,000 steps 2x a week, but my pedometer doesn't work right (or it could be the wearer).

Missy, the court system stinks. They do not think o the bedt interests of the child. I may have told you, my niece divorced her DH (and I don't mean dear husband) and he was on drugs, selling drugs, turned gay, no job, etc. They went to court all the time. She had to let him have her 2 girls twice a week. She was a wreck letting them go with this druggy. But the fater has rights says the court. He has never paid a nickel in child support. Owes her over $50M. He has been arrested about 10 times since their last court appearance and she never hears from him, thankfully. But you can't rely the courts. I sure hope things work out. I hate that you have to wait so long. I agree, they only should get one visit. Alexis probably doesn't even care if they visit. I'm sure it confuses her. I'm still sending in many prayers for you. I'm not sure about what labels she is removing with the scrapers. I will have to ask her.

Gator, congrats on your win. It was a great game. You get the Cats next week. That should be a guaranteed "W". We never played the Gators with 2 wins on our record. Can't bellieve the Cats actually won. I have used a Tai sauce over cream cheese. Hot and wonderful. Joy's website has some great habenara (sp) ones.

BOB, sorry for your loss. It was a close one. I sure thought the Vols were going to pull it out. Miami came out and stomped on the Cardinal Bird and that just fires the other team up. Not a good thing to do. ANy team that has done that has lost.

Susan, Congrats to your team too. I only saw parts of it. What a way to lose wt. It should start to cool off. At least in my end of town.

Monet, what a beautiful painting. Hope you are having a great time.

Moon Raven, welcome to our board. It takes a couple weeks to get the cravings out of your system. Read the book and ask questions.

Ginger, what nice things you said about our board. I have been coming here for probably 5 years and have met 3 of the girls on here. Friends I will cherish for ever.

Toni, toast is not very filling. Grab some fruit later. Have a wonderful day.

Tech, hoping DH has a great first day on his new job. School hasn't been in session that long, maybe they are trying to get settled first and evaluating the kids. Have fun on your walk.

Got to get busy here. Have a great day.

Hi everyone,
MMM was good to me today. Down a pound, for which I am happy. I even made a ticker!

Susan--Oops, I KNEW it was one of those big churches! How about this?! I attended Reformed Theological Seminary which is Presbyterian, and my husband has played golf and won a tournament with R.C. Sproul. Will that do!!??

I got my walk in today and also had my blood work done this morning before eating. So I had a very late B.F. Sugarbuster pancakes at 11 am. My goal is to lose another pound this week. We are playing Solly's team this Saturday, but are going to Gainesville on Thursday because my dh has meetings up there Thursday night and Friday morning. Lots of meals that I can't control. I will just have to be careful.

Not much news from here. Hope everyone has a great week.

Oh good we're busy today. I'm so happy I lost 3 lbs. this week. I worked so hard at it. I can even change my ticker a bit. I just had a bowl of shredded wheat and bran with fresh blueberries on it for breakfast. I'm trying to think of something healthy for lunch. I may make a meatloaf for dinner tonight. I've got some heels of ww bread I can grind up for bread crumbs. Sounds like everyone had a good time with football this week end....

Gator- Looks like a little cheat didn't affect your loss. Congrads on the 1 lb. loss... Sounds like you had a blast this week end.

Hi Missy and Bob....

Fillise- Oh my gosh its a wonder you didn't get sick with the heat. 5 lbs. yippee girl!!!

Tech- Hope right back on that wagon gal... You can do it..

Solly- Woopie on the 1.5 lbs. You did good!

Well I want to make some bread today so better get going.
