Don't everyone faint at the same time...I just posted on the exercise board!!

Just got in...my walk to the lighthouse and back is about 6.5 miles and I'm gonna feel it tonight!! The dog is laying on the floor panting like he just ran a marathon. Good...I should go brush him now while he's lethargic.

For BF today I had a small WW pancake with SF syrup and a glass of NSA orange juice. I just had a small apple, carb freedom yogurt and a flavored water for lunch and may add a small salad to that in a minute. I have a fresh pot of green iced tea brewing. I'll be having Tilapia cooked on the grill for dinner. Derek's out for the night so I can eat what I want. Well, I can eat what I want when he's home, but I hate making multiple meals to please all the pallettes in the house.

Anyhow...

Toni: WOOHOO on the three pounds!! Can I come over for dinner? I love meatloaf!! Triscuits in the blender or food processor make great bread crumbs, too....or added to the bread crumbs...it makes a nice chunky texture.

Gator: I'm sure you'll make good choices in Gainesville. I'm know you'll be down another pound by the end of the week! You're our hero!!

Solly: I've already had my first pot of chili!! We need it early up here!! Actually, it was more because we ran out of cooking propane and they're taking FOREVER to fill our tank. Bad time of year to be hitting up the fuel people. So, I cooked it in my crockpot. And regarding school...I'm giving it a little bit for them to get schedules down, etc...but I get miffed when, in the past I've asked the teachers and the principal about what they do when a kid can read as well as Kyle and write, etc. when the teacher rolls his eyes as if to say, "Here's another parent that thinks their kid is a genius..." I'm really concerned that they're going to just shove him aside and teach him nothing and wait for the other kids to catch up. So far, all he's gotten is a cold and learned really bad manners. BUT, HE loves it and at this point, that's all I can ask.

Okay...have to check on things in the washer. Will be back later.

Oh...and Missy...I didn't read last week's thread yet, but I'm getting that you had some misgivings regarding family court? In my experience, the one thing of knowledge you should arm yourself with is this: Family Court wishes to please one entity...the NON custodial parents. The scumbags...the ones that are least beneficial to the children. They don't care about the kids or the custodial parents that are making their world great...only the scumbags. They don't care if scumbags pay child support or have anything beneficial to give to the child (such as a person to look up to or a good role model)...only that the scumbags win. Period. I don't know what shift in the universe made this happen, but its like that and there is little that good parents or children can do to escape scumbags, except move far enough away from the scumbags so that the scumbags can't get to the children or are too lazy to care. That's what I did and Shelley hasn't seen her scumbag since June of 2000...he has every right to see her, but hasn't called or tried and we're grateful. That last time he saw her was Father's Day and I had to force him to see her...he had a gig to play and didn't want to take the time...I knew it was the last time he'd see her and forced it. Great reinforcement that leaving the scumbag in our dust was the right thing to do. Good luck to you!!

Wow, you all make me dizzy with your sports talk. It's football not baseball, right?

I did OK on my trip to Orlando. Certainly didn't get much sleep. I had my weigh-in at Weight Watchers. Down 1.5 . It's less than I would have liked, but at least I lost after the trip :S

I can't remember if I posted or not about the van, but we ended up purchasing a 2006 Grand Caravan. I LOVE IT!!! And now that I have transportation, I made it to the Y for water aerobics this morning. It felt so good to move.

Has anyone tried the Lean Cuisine frozen dinners with wholegrain pastas and rice? I jsut bought a few. WIth Travis out of town I get really bad at snacking. I'll do better if I have a decided portion.

Now I am going to go get my bellydance video done while the kids are napping.

Moon-Welcome!!

Gator- Sorry I didn't get a chance to call you and get together. This trip came up so fast and we had no free time. I may be back in ORlando in FEbuary. Maybe then?

Tech- Don't you hate that? Why should he be held back for thers to catch up? I hope we can continue homeschooling so that won't be an issue for Selah.

Toni- Good job on the loss!

Congrats to all you losers (of pounds, not football). I forgot to weigh today!!! I hope it's ok to do it tomorrow, better late than never. I don't have a scale at home, I have to do it at my gym or at work (school).

You are all so good about posting, I read all the posts and then forget who said what and can't go back and read again without losing my page. I need to keep a notebook here or something to write down who said what to whom and when. LOL

I made a pot roast tonight with lots of veggies in the crock pot. I made potatoes with it but I didn't eat them--BF ate them. I didn't even miss them! It was yummy.

Gotta go for now--have a great evening! Ginger

Hey!

Just a flyby! Got some better news today. The social worker said that her supervisor said that Alexis will only have 1 visit a month with the egg and sperm donor! I'm very happy about that. I think that they have been given enough...they don't deserve to see her at all! Anyhoo - that was good news for us today!

GIN: I usually open WORD and type my letter there, then copy and paste it in here when I have a long post. That way, you can flip flop back and forth easily!

Hey to everyone!! I'm off to scrapbook - I got lots done this weekend so I'm on a roll!

Missy: Well, once a month isn't too bad. Still confusing to the child, once again, the courts are looking at what's best for the non-custodials. It's funny you call them donors...when Shelley was little, her 'father' was mad at me because I hadn't gotten him a Father's Day card. I said, "When Hallmark comes out with Sperm Donor Day, you'll be the top on my list to buy for!" Scumbag. How long does Alexis have to stay there? Is it supervised?

Bob: I feel your pain...did I mention I'm a BILLS fan? I know all about your team losing! Isn't Peyton Manning from the Vols? I love him.

Gin: I open a new page in my web browser and flop back and forth....or the easier thing is to scroll down on the reply page and the last dozen or so postings (depending on their size) are down there.

Talitha: We just got a 2006 Honda Civic for Derek to bomb around all of Upstate New York and Northern Vermont in. We looked into a couple-year-old one, but they were the same price, so we got the new one! I guess they're a hot commodity and don't lose very much value. He got the model with the navigation system. It'll come in very handy in those remote areas finding new stores he has to hit.

Well, I won't be walking this morning. First of all, I have blisters on my feet! I would have taken a half trip out to the lighthouse yesterday, working my way up to a longer walk, but I knew it was going to be raining this morning...which is the other reason I won't be walking this morning. I may go out after lunch...the rain is supposed to let up by then, but will do the half way walk if I go. Derek is coming home today and will be home the rest of the week. I may still walk out to the lighthouse and have him go with me on his bike. He does that with me sometimes. I like it. I have a lot of straightening up to do this morning anyway. It was beautiful here yesterday...about 80 degrees and a nice breeze. I washed sheets and hung them out on the line and they were dry in about an hour! It was great! I wish we could hang on to that weather longer. It's nice to have Kyle come home and I can tell he'd been sweating playing on the playground during recess. At least he gets that!

Okay...have to go...will chat again later!!

Happy Tuesday. Brrrr

It is rather chilly here today and only going to 65 with lows in the 40's. I'm not ready for this.

The girls game got cancelled yet again. We were eating quickly to leave and the phone ran cancelling it. It has been a month since they played. I'm starting to say forget it. DD wanted me to run to the craft store with her. We were going to get a quick walk first, but it was raining. It was dark when we got home so I hit the for 32 minutes. Boy was I sweating. Had to go sit outside just to cool down.

My scale was still possessed this morning. Maybe I need to change the battery.

Toni, Yeah for the big loss. You did work hard for it. Keep up the good work. It sounds like the loss really motivated you.

Gator, I think the game will be a blow out. I forgot to look to see what the point spread was. Congrats on your loss. I'm sure you willdo fine this weekend. It seems you have learned to control your portions.

Tech, congrats on that walk. That was one heck of a walk. Hope you have some good walking shoes. Blisters, that may put a damper on your walk for a week or so. In our paper last Sat, someone wrote in about some socks that were great for long walks, hunting, hiking. They are some kind of sock liner. Supposed to keep the moisture away, which causes the blisters. You can get them at sporting good stores.

Talitha, congrats on your 1.5 lb loss. I don't think we ever lose what we think we should. But remember, slow is the name of the game. The Lean Cusine pannia are great. I have hear (not tried yet) that their new pizza with chicken and a white sauce is good too.

Giner, I read and type it in Word and then cut and paste. With my memory, I can't remember the last one I read much less the others.

Bob, you crack me up.

Missy, that is great news, the less contact, the less interest they have in her. Prayers are answered.

Got to run, have a great OP day.

Hi Everyone!!!

I don't have much time to post, but will try to cram what I can in before my lunch is ready! I haven't even had time to lurk...so sorry!

Well, the pet dilemma. We finally told Lane she could have a hamster too, like Britt. So, we went out to find her one, and found one that was a bit older. Well, that same night, he bit her and she said she never wanted to hold him again. SO.... we returned him and drove all over town to find baby ones, since they are better when handled from an early age. Well, we found some at one of the Petsmarts in town, and she found one she liked, and it seemed pretty tame. I went to hold it, and it reared its' head back and bit down so hard on my finger that I dropped it. I was dripping blood, and soaked through two paper towels. Now, you have to picture this.....I am so not good with blood, and I am dripping blood in the store, and feel like I am going to pass out, so I take a seat in the middle of an aisle since I am getting dizzy. A man walked up to me and told me he was a nurse and asked if he could help me. I asked him to stick around for a minute. I also have a four-year old screaming at the top of her lungs that she wants her OWN pet. Well, in the haste of the moment, I promised her a puppy. I am totally insane!!!! We now have three dogs. She got an American Eskimo, and it is only 4 mos. old, so it is between coats and looks like a little white coyote right now. She is only 9#, and should double in size. Small enough for Lane to dress up and enjoy, but big enough to play with our other dogs, and not get taken off by an owl/hawk. BUT, having a puppy is like having a baby again and I hardly had time before to get accomplised what I had to in a day!

I also am going in next week to see a breast surgeon. After the MRI, they decided that I need to have a needle biopsy done. So, I can really use any prayers out there!!!

Well, my lunch is ready so I gotta run!

I will keep you all posted!

God Bless!
Nat

Nat: Prayers that your finger heals! And double prayers on the biopsy

Solly: Where do you live again? Northern New York? Possessed scales explain a lot. I think I can say the same for mine.

Well, I'm really miffed. I'll try and not make this a really long story. Last couple of weeks, Shelley's been thrilled with school. This weekend, she suddenly hates it. The Study Hall teacher is mean, the Science teacher is teaching them everything they learned last year and the Spanish teacher is constantly yelling because people keep talking during class and they're really behind. So, last night she starts saying that she wants to stay home today and that she doesn't feel good (TOM). So, she goes to school today, as if she forgot that she didn't want to go, and when she gets on the bus, she text messaged me that she had a bad headache. I told her to go to the nurse if she still feels bad and I'll come give her an Advil. I also told the nurse via e-mail that Shelley has been hating school lately and that she was complaining about a headache and if she comes in, could she assess her for me and let me know if she's truly ill or just wants to come home. So, around 10:30, the nurse calls and tells me that she needs and Advil. I get there and give Shelley the advil and the nurse tells Shelley go to back to class. So, I told Shelley I'd walk her to class and by the time we got to class, she convinced me to let her come home. I looked at her schedule and she had Spanish and Science left and a few lightweight things like lunch and a reading class. BUT, I used to get wicked cramps when I was a teenager and wouldn't want anyone to make me suffer with them and risk barfing in class, so I went with her to her Spanish and Science teachers to ask for the work she'd miss nad then I hear Shelley's name over the loud speaker to come to the office. Well...this is what miffed me. I got read the riot act by the lady in the office because I didn't tell them that Shelley was with me (the nurse knew I was taking her to class) and that I should have gone straight to the office when we decided to take her home. I was actually on the way to the office when we heard her name over the loud speaker. I understand, but I DON'T understand how a 40-year-old woman that pays a pretty penny for school taxes can get chewed out and belittled by a person in the MS office. I was so miffed, I signed her out and left. How dare she? In my opinion. I mean, she could have handled it much more politely, in my opinion. She's all like, "IN THE FUTURE!!!" and I wanted to say, "Shut up, lady!! I'm not one of the sixth graders!!" I had such a headache when I went in, which is one of the main players in Shelley being able to get me to let her come home. I mean, I understand that they weren't sure where Shelley went after the nurse's office, but it is perfectly okay, to me, to speak to a parent..or a student for that matter...with respect. I could see a little, "Oh, thank Goodness...we wondered where Shelley went...", but not a "HOW DARE YOU!!" I wanted to offer her some of Shelley's pamprin.

Okay...gotta run...

Hi all...Nat, good luck on the biopsy. Keep us all posted. Your pet story is funny, my son is begging for a puppy but we are just getting down to normalcy after having a zoo here (3 cats, 2 dogs, now down to 1 cat, 1 dog) and I'd like to enjoy the quiet or awhile. I got him two fish, and he seems happy for the moment.

Solly, sorry you got blindsided by the school secretary (or whoever that was). Maybe she was having a bad day...? I work in the public schools and I know we have to be very vigilant about where kids are at all times (imagine if we actually lost one!), but you're right, she could have been nicer about it. No need to get nasty, eh? That would tick me off too. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I haven't even finished the book, and I know I'm not keeping ALL the sugar out of my diet, but I lost two pounds last week so that makes me happy! Maybe as I learn more, more will come off. If it just continues I'll be happy. It's so hard at work, as I said I work in a school as an elementary counselor, and there is ALWAYS food there. Someone's birthday--food. Nurse's Day--food. Teacher Appreciation week--food. Counselor appreciation week--food. You know what I mean. And rarely is anything healthy. We are doing state testing this week, and someone brought in all these cheesecakes for "morale boosters." I didn't have any but it really stinks that I can't! I know I can't even have one bite because that would set off a binge of unbelievable proportions. Well anyway--it's only been a week but I guess I have to take it one day at a time.

Sorry the Vols lost! Although there are Gator fans on here, right? So congrats to you. My Huskers played not to get blown out instead of playing to win, so it was a very disappointing game. I was hoping they would hold their own but it was very uninspiring. Oh well.

My son wants to use the computer to play a game--talk to you all soon! Looks like we have lots of motivated people here.

This is quick as I have a lot to do today, but wanted to report that the scale is moving down--at long last!

I had a long day yesterday and then went to see the Capitol Steps last night--they were hilarious! I was so tired when I got home that I crawled straight into bed and slept like a baby. It felt wonderful!

Today's bfast was a bananna (I like them almost green) and two slices of WT toast with lite margerine. I will have some yogurt about 10.

Who was it who asked about the Lean Cuisine--I like them! You are so right about the portion control! I was thrilled when they came out with the whole grain selections.

OK--time to get to work. Have a great OP day everyone!

Hello all,

Gosh, it has been a while since I posted. I tried to lurk whenever I can but posting is another story. Dh has been at home a lot since he quit his corporate job to concentrate on his home building business so I don't get to use the computer as much as I like to. Secondly, having 2 kids are so different than 1...lol, I mean as far as the work load...lol but I love it!

Chris turned big ONE 2 weeks ago and he is walking all over the house. That means mommy have to tag along just to make sure he doesn't get into deep trouble. Jessica is 5 and in kindergarten...she is one determined little girl.

I just want to say "hi" to everyone and will try to post whenever I can.

Take care,
Julia

Hi Ladies,

It is Wed already and it pay day and I have bunco tonight. I can't wait. We don't have it in the summer so it has been about 4 months since we were together. I am looking for some good girl talk and catching up.

Got to the gym last and got 25 minutes on the bike and 30 wt training. Won't do anything tonight unless I take a walk or work out in the basement before I leave.

Nat, That's a strange way to get a dog. It was a funny story, but at the same time,I felt sorry for you. I'm glad there was someone around to assist you. Sending many prayers for your biopsy. Please keep us posted as soon as you find out something. Don't think the worst. Have faith.

Tech, I live in Louisville Kentucky. What a mess at school. I agree, the lady could have handled it differently. I hope you figure out what is behind not wanting to go to school. There is ususally and underlying problem.

Toni, sorry you lost your post. I hate that. Have a great day.

Ginger, my DD is a school counselsor. They callit something else. She is right now working for a social worker place that sends her into the schools for EBD children. She wants to start teaching EBD children soon.

Susan, congrats on getting the scale to move in the right direction. Keep it going.

Julia, good to see your post. I can't believe Chris is 1 already. Post when you can.

Bob, sorry you didn't sleep again last night. I plan on taking an Ambien tonight after bunco. After all the talking and stimulation and food, I can never fall asleep. Hope you got a good rest last night.

Got to run, have a great day.
