Talking Some good news for a change

Yesterday we sold our office supply store and we are now unemployed! Retired now at age 61. Grandbabies here I come.

Saw my kidney Dr. and not too much change so I am going to be able to travel a bit. They were working at 25% and now down to 21 but filtering well and all blood work is great so now I have to eat low phosporous (spelling) I am not sure how that will help losing weight, maybe it will help. So all the prayers are working, thank you all.

We still have to work for 30 days, that means mainly my dh so I am thinking I have to go in this a.m. for a while and maybe tomorrow then I will be done. No since in 5 of us standing around there. I was only working a few hours a week so not a big change for me but oh what to do with a retired hubby.

We are taking our first trip to Ky, Ohio, to see grandkids and then a week in Gatlinburg (by ourselves) at our time share for a total of 2 wks. starting April 27. I am so excited.

Traveling, I love traveling. Got to keep these kidneys working so I don't end up on dilaysis too soon so we can enjoy these things now that we are RETIRED!!!!!

Phyllis,

That is great news!

My DH had a kidney transplant in 2002, I know what a hassle it is watching phosphorus, pottasium, sodium, etc. Do you also have to watch protein? But now that he is transplanted, he has carte blanche to eat whatever. He, unfortunatley, did end up on dialysis. If you can avoid that, do. It is not fun. What is your creatinine running?

Best of luck to you in this venture.

Hey, Phyllis,

Welcome to the world of retirement! Donald and I had hoped to travel more when we retired. Poor guy, now he can't even get out of our condo.

He's working on trying to stand again. Hopefully, he'll get back to being able to transfer from his wheelchair to the car & we'll be able to get out of here.

Enjoy!

Congratualtions on your retirement Phyllis! That is wonderful news. Hopefully you DH won't be too bored. Sorry to hear about your kidneys. I hope you are able stay away from Dialasis.

So, where in Ohio are you visiting? Any chance driving by Cleveland? I would love to meet you!
