Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again...#829

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Looks like I missed another entire thread.

Thin...sorry about the clothing exchange thing. Did not mean to cause a problem. Not totally sure I understand the rationale...but no need for an explanation. I'll follow along.

TOM is next week...posted a gain on the scale but my WW ;eader looked at me (not knowing I had gained) and said "Seriously, you look really thin...you've lost so many inches."

That was nice

Garnetfairy - I've been pretty successful on it thus far. I've only been on the diet since December 12th, and I'm down nearly 40 pounds. I usually see about a 3 pound loss a week...roughly. Some weeks, more. Congrats on doing 4 MILES of the program! And I hope your cat gets to feeling better.

Valerie - Really no one on my mother's side of the family have ever given me grief about my weight. I think I just wanna surprise them, because the fat me is all they ever knew! Oh my goodness...what did she die from, do you know? That's so terrible...and 11 kids! She must have been an ANGEL!

Lilion - Glad that it just turned out to be evil water weight!

Mazarin - 9 pounds is still 9 pounds! You're doing great, so keep it up!

Julee - Do you have any before and "current" pics? I'm always interested in seeing people...or maybe you posted them on the pics page, and I never saw them? Fantastic about the leader...you've lost a lot of weight!

Well, waiting for my Psych class to start, and I've got about an hour...so I'm bored. Going to go home after class, and do some of my dvd, hopefully...maybe hop on the treadmill, and then when I go to Andrew's this evening, get some more of the dvd in. Hope you chicks are having a great day!

I have a Math test tomorrow and I just have the hardest time comprehending(sp) Math, I have always struggled with it,,,,, ooohhh why cant it be an elective! My Nephew/Brother is 15 years old and is tutoring me, he had the Math I am doing in the 8th grade,,,, 17 years since I have graduated , and my things are progressing in the Math field,, I am so nervous about it.......

JuleeCees~ the threads move so fast some times here, you get lost in 2 hrs, then there are days that you can stay caught up in 4 or 5 hours.. defanately keeps you busy... I am happy that you are losing, inches or lbs dont matter to me, as long as it comes off.. I am glad you mentioned inches, because I did not measure myself so you reminded me, Thanks.

Crock - I won't know until next Wednesday, as I only have that class once a week! I hate math, too...luckily, I only needed one math class, and somehow I passed it with a B last semester! Good luck!

Heather - to the forum! Tell us a little about yourself! What plan are you following, and what kind of exercise are you doing? Hope you like it here!!!

Well, I just got out of my Psych class, and it was actually pretty interesting. We talked about some of the behavior characteristics of psychopaths...that stuff's so interesting to me! I went to a website to determine my "real age", and supposedly I'm like 24! It's actually a pretty neat thing, and if anyone wants the website let me know...don't wanna post it here, cuz I don't know if it's against the rules or not. Going to head home here soon, and WORK OUT! Is it so weird that I can't wait?!?! LOL!

A little about me:

In November of 2004, I went to the ER with tightness in the chest. After an X-ray, the doctor told me "your heart is huge" (yes, that was very reassuring ) and my BP was high. Everytime I had to go the ER over the years, they always took my BP 2 or 3 times because it was so high but nobody really said alot about it and I was a kid,.. 17-20 yrs old or so, and I didn't think about stuff like that too much. I was so freaked when the cardio admitted me to the hospital that my BP was well over 200! (cant remember the bottom number..lol) My weight was 376! They did all sorts of tests on me, prescribed BP meds and low sodium diet. The most uncomfortable thing about that stay was a nurse who had to wheel me to a test, saying that I was "too young to be there" At 27, she was right but it does not do alot for the self esteem.

Fast Forward to Jan of 2006, at my last cardio appt., they weighed me at 323 and my BP is hovering around 130 (still not perfect). I am basically eating low sodium and low fat and just trying not to eat as much in general. I have been sporadic on the exercise but when I do it, I do Leslie Sansone WATP 1 Mile walk and I just got this "Just my size Yoga" today and tried it for the first time (I stink at it!..LOL)

I want to get healthy so I can have a baby and for a few weddings that hubby and I have to attend. (the first one being my Brother-in-law's in October of this year.. yikes!)

Heather - Sounds good!!! You are the second person to mention the Just My Size Yoga...I may have to check it out before I get any other dvds, since I've been wanting to do Yoga to help with my flexibility! What's your goal weight?

I don't really have a definite final goal, but my first goal is to get under 300. My scale at home always gives a different weight, so I am actually eager to get weighed on the 13th at the next cardio check-up(first time for everything huh?). I know I won't be under 300 yet but I want to see if I lost anything since Jan 11th ;-)

oi vei, I missed a whole thread again!

I weighed in this morning--276.5 Not as low as I should be by now (still working off the huge holiday gain), but at least I'm heading back in the right direction (I haven't been below 280 again until just this week ).

I'm still going strong with the calorie-counting/cycling--Jeff came home last night with a flat tire, so we filled it with tire sealer and then had to drive 3-5 miles (per instructions on the can), so he suggested we go to dinner since we were already out, and who am I to argue? So we just went to the mall, and we got subs at a chesesteak place. I WATCHED them cook the chicken for my sandwich--no butter or oil or anything And I said no mayo and no fried onions, but I did have a small fry as well. I estimated the calories as best I could in Fitday, and I still ended up at only about 1300 for the day (since I didn't make the smoothies I had originally allowed for when I planned my day's menu in order to compensate for the fries). I'm really excited that I was able to make a good choice and stick close to my original calorie plan for the day

Jill - It's so hard to go out to eat, and try and stay on the diet!!! Kudos to you for being good, and for staying below the 2000 mark for another day!

Hello All,

Just checking in, very late but I am here at last. I am once again way behind on posts, it's amazing how fast these threads keep going.

I didn't get to exercise today because we had our new bed delivered and it is taking up all the room in the living room. Our room is a building site at the moment because Daren is making some box units on one of the walls. So tonight we sleep on the mattress on the floor down stairs. I didnt picture our first night on our new mattress to be in the living room lol. Especially as the plastic is still on it.

I did get to walk 1.5 miles today, so although I didn't do the salsasize at least I walked.

Well I am pretty tired now so I want to say goodnight, and hopefully I will get chance to catch up with individual replies tomorrow. Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi
