Default Monday Madness Chat

Good Morning!!!
Yes I know I'm up early this morning...I have a meeting at 7am. My boss is cruel! Doesn't she know I was up late watching the SuperBowl?
The eating this weekend was terrible.....even worse because I bet Pearsy I would lose more weight than her! I gotta kick myself into shape so I can beat the rat girl (hehe - Pearsy!)
Fri night, DF & I went to down town Detroit to see everything for the Superbowl....I was hopeing for at least 1 celebrity siting, but no. Detroit stinks...really it does. After about 2.5 hours, I jumped into the middle of traffic for a taxi & $50 later we where home......$50 what a rip off!
Well I must go & get ready for work.....grr!
Chat with you later...have a great OP day!

'Mornin all. Off to 6 am spinning. I wish my discipline around food were as good as my discipline around exercising. I love to spin!
Scale hasn't budged. And I didn't go to a superbowl party and overeat! Somehow, seems spending my weekend eating right and exercising should have produced some reward. I need some sort of scale - budging tactic. WW used to call it a plateau buster. Any ideas???

Morning Soon and Focused!

Quick drive by to check in. I have to get both girls out of the house this morning, so I shouldn't even be checking in!

Evening eating was great last night, although I over ate during the Super Bowl. No chance the scale is going to be down tomorrow for my weekly weigh-in. I did it to myself though!

Gotta jet!

Good morning, Chickies~~

Freezing my heinie this morning. We have a storm system that developed and we could see as much as 2" of snow. Woooo....

Had fun at my knit-in yesterday. Completed two of my UFO's. A hat for me and a pair of mitts for Miss Mary. I'll give them to her on Wednesday. She'll be so happy.

Did so-so on the eating. Marilyn's dh made a pot of chili. I had 1 bowl (with a couple of saltines) and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese over the top. And a very small serving of Stephanie's broccoli salad. It was sweet and I'm not sure if she used sugar or Splenda. And it's chock-full of raisins and peanuts.

Focused--A plateau is our body's way of adjusting to a new fit. You've lost weight and you don't want to look like you're wearing someone else's skin, so your body takes some time to shrinkwrap itself. Don't worry unless the stall lasts for longer than a month or so. If that's the case, then you need to do something to shake things up.

If you're eating a very low caloric program, add some calories. If you've been focusing on cardio, then maybe add some weights to your program. If you haven't been faithful to the 4 Cups A Day rule or haven't gotten your daily 8 on water, then start doing those.

Another little thing you might want to do is try adding more spice to your life. Add hot sauce, cinnamon, pepper, anything that is thermogenic and will help rev up your metabolism. Esp, cinnamon. It's great for helping our bodies utilize the insulin we produce.

Good Morning Ladies,

Looks like a slow morning around here, is everyone recovering from the Superbowl festivities? I myself had a terrific time at dinner and Phantom of the Opera. At intermission, the man sitting next to my father said something about it being halftime instead of intermission, I think he was in the wrong venue. My father doesn't even watch sports and didn't even know who was playing. Anyway, I used to live in Butler PA for about ten years which is about 40 minutes outside of Pittsburgh...sooooo glad I missed all the insanity that would come with the Steelers playing in the Superbowl. I think I still have a terrible towel somewhere even though I was never into watching sports myself.

I had a killer meal and not OP but it's not often I can afford to go to a restaurant like that one and last night the folks were paying the bill

Oh and CRK05.....CONGRATS!!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Good morning, chickies! Yesterday was a good eating day but I may have overdone it on the nutz. Instead of grabbing a handful I took the whole bag of pistachio's on the couch. I shared them with the rats and my dog. "One for you, one for me.." ! Other than that I've been eating in a good calorie range and zig zagging my calories so my metabolism doesn't stall, at least I hear that works so I'm trying it.

I put on 2# since I'm still on TOM but have lost those plus one! yay! I still may lose more once TOM is over for good. I have to lose weight because not only did I bet Soon who would lose more weight but I want my bf to notice a difference when I see him next month. He says he doesnt care but whatever! I care! Today I have to stick to 1300 calories which is always tough for me to go below 1400 but I will do it. I think I'll have a b'fast burrito this morning.

The rest of the day will be spent studying, grading, and doing laundry. Whats going on in your part of the sand today?

Good morning chicks! I was up at 6:00 today, unbelievable! This pregnancy has turned me into an "early to bed early to rise" sort, not like me at all. So far I am barely managing to eat anything but it's all been on program, LOL. Not that I'm going for weight loss anymore, but I have lost 2.5 pounds since I last weighed-in. I will just be grateful when food starts to seem appealing again and that lovely pregnancy weight gain begins! Well, I'm very excited, but still keeping my fingers crossed tightly that I get through the first trimester and still have a viable pregnancy. My miscarriage last time definitely has caused me to keep my excitement a little guarded.

Soon2BeFab ~ Sorry you got kind of a run-around looking for Super Bowl celebs!

Focused ~ I hope you enjoy your spinning!

Kiko ~ I'm glad that you had a good time last night!

Mamacita ~ That knit-in sounds like a lot of fun!

Freaky ~ I'm glad that you enjoyed the show. at the guy who referred to intermission as halftime. Hilarious. There was a guy in one of my economics classes in college who would always refer to the break that our professor gave us in the middle (it was a three-hour class) as "halftime".

pearshape ~ Pistachios can be so addictive! My husband will eat half a bag in one sitting if he can get away with it.

Have a great on-program day everyone!

Good morning! We got a sprinkle of snow last night and more is on the way. This means that the lake in the dog yard has frozen before it turned into a mud swamp! What a strange winter! My snowdrops bloomed at the end of January and will probably not be back until the end of this month.

Mamacita, thanks for refreshing my memory on cinnamon! I had forgotten that and will get back to having cocoa and cinnamon in my morning coffee, plus Splenda, of course.

Soon, I must admit I was not impressed with Detroit either, especially the airport. Do you live in a suburb? Or would that be in Windsor?

Focus. Mamacita is right about getting off the plateau. Check out the "rules". I shouldn't even be sticking in my two cents as I've been stuck for about three months.

Kiko, the litle ones will keep you busy today! Maybe a good load of water today will help you drop a bit before your weigh-in.

Freaky, wasn't Phantom great!!!! Now don't worry about eating off programme. You know it doesn't count when somebody else pays for it. I love your Dad for not being a sports fan. Mine was the same although he did agree to watch the Grey Cup if Ottawa was playing.

Pearshape, I've stopped buying pistachios for that very reason. My Girls like them, shells and all, and I can't nibble on them without two pair of eyes gazing longingly. I hope the TOM weight drops fast for you. Thanks for posting those recipes yesterday. Like most of yours, they look great!

I must confess that yesterday was the first day in a long time that I have actually eaten what I planned on fitday. I start the day with good intenetions but they sometimes fall apart. Today should be another good day - that's the plan anyhow. I'm in charge of the teatime at my painting class this afternoon and will take cookies and fruit but will also bring along a small container of yoghurt for myself.

Painting is the new love of my life. Who knew? I spent 5 hours at the kitchen table yesterday and didn't even think of food. I guess it's my new diet aid along with wearing the tooth-bleaching tray thingie.

Gotta get cracking and get some more stairwell and cellar tidying done. I leave for painting at 12:30 and time's a'fleetin'.

Christina, we were posting at the same time. I must have missed your big announcement so went back and found it. I am sure you will have a good pregnancy this time, especially since you are taking good care of yourself. I'm lifting my to you and your wee bundle.

Hey all - looks like everyone mostly survived the super bowl without having too bad of an eating day.

I had a terrible weekend in general - a slice of thin curst pizza on Saturday after spending the morning with my mom and the kids at the Children's Museum - and a greek salad to go with it - should have just had the greek salad!! And then - that night - at a birthday party - another slice of pizza and I licked my fingers after holding a cupcake for Marshall Bean to eat - we both had cupcake all over us. And he ate FOUR (well - a lot of it ended up in the grass outside) - and he's only a year old. I don't know what I was thinking letting him do that - but he kept trying to climb the cabinet to get to them - so I just let him have at it. Big misteake though - he was up until 1 am!!

And then Sunday - we had hot wings for lunch - which wasn't too bad - but I think you are not supposed to eat wings - but at least it was just grilled with hot sauce - it could have been much worse! And then of course - we went to a Super Bowl party and that was my final downfall - I did not snack - but I did have a margarita and a hot dog.

All this probably would not be TOO detrimental except I'm still on Phase 1!!!

BUT - the good news is - I'm only up ONE POUND today. SO - If I survive that and am only up a pound - I will consider myself LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY.

Thank God this is not Atkins - because all this would have set me back sooooo far. I did Atkins before - it sucked.

Ok - that's about it for me!! I'm glad everyone had a pretty good weekend!!

Well Sounds like I am in the same boat as most of you. I did weigh myself yes and I was up only a pd but I refused to see the damage today. I am going back on phase 1 for a few days. It started out Friday night at a resturant we went to at a spur of the moment. I did ok except for the drinks, and that always opens up the door for the sweet tooth later. Sat, my intentions were good but my dh has been sooo good eating all my food preps that I think he needed a day off. He made bq ribs and chicken, made pizza bread etc. I did eat some but could have gone crazy myself. Than of course there was super bowl I wilnot even go there. All I can say is I am glad it is Monday. I am joff to work out hard and it is fish tonight and salads and no carbs for a few days.Soon I just moved out of MI .I miss home so much. I am glad to hear it was not that big of deal. A fews of my friends did go too some parties there and walked around they said it was ok. I was really wishing we could have just driven around ther to see the change Det. made for the time anyway. I hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning!
Every Monday I've been saying the same thing, and I'm gonna say it and mean it this time - A new week, a new start! I am ashamed of the way I've been eating these past few days, and I am determined to get and stay OP. I started today with a good workout at Curves, and had a zucchini & cheese omelette, so I'm on the right path, anyway.
We had our youngest GD all weekend while my DD and SIL finished a remodeling job, so OUT went my plans for a quiet, relaxing weekend! We had a lot of fun with her, though, and she is a really good baby. She kept us really busy, though!
I just got a phone call from Cindy, and she needs me to take the girls to their swim lessons this evening, so it'll be a late night for me. So I'd better get moving and pack myself some lunch and supper to go.
Have a super day!

Ooo, did I ever have wicked cravings this weekend. Ridiculous ones, too, like yearning for PopTarts. I don't like PopTarts and never have, but there was a box at my parents' house humming its sugary promises at me. I didn't eat any. Nor did I have any of the giant ice cream cake that was just randomly in the freezer. Now, ice cream cake (the Carvel variety with chocolate crunchies) is probably my favorite food item on the planet and I informed my family that it was the cruelest thing they could do to me.

But...I did not have any, ate only OP all weekend and the scale rewarded me by dropping four pounds since last weigh-in. I've decided to weigh in on Monday mornings, officially. If it's a good number, then it'll improve my early week outlook. If it's a bad number, well, Mondays suck anyway.

And, I'm back at work and at my own apartment where it's always easier to eat healthy, so cravings shouldn't be a problem.

Is anyone familiar with a place called Planet Smoothie? I had a smoothie over the weekend that was simply outstanding and I'm hoping many more might be in my future. It has cherries, vanilla yogurt, ice and some kind of protein blast. It's part of a low-carb shake line, so it was sugar-free, 150 calories and (I think) 2 grams of fat. I'm going to try to make my own sometime this week.

Have a good Monday everyone! And congratulations to Christina on your big news!

Mornin' all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Last night I was forced to watch the Superbowl with my fanatic bf, but all in all it wasn't too bad. I'm learning more and more about football-- it was only a few months ago that I thought that the offense and defense for both teams were always on the field, at the same time (meaning both quarterbacks would always be on the field)! Who knows, in 10 years I may even grow to like this sport.

So I know I've been posting for like a week, but today is my first actual day on the SB Diet. For breakfast I had the spinach quiche cup thingies, which only enforced my belief that spinach should only be eaten raw in a salad. For lunch I plan on having a salad with some grilled chicken and a sugar-free jello. I brought 3 snacks today, just in case I get unbearably hungry-- some grape tomatoes, sunflower seeds, and a string cheese. Over the weekend I made a batch of chili and froze it in little containers, so that will be my dinner. I think I'm off to a good start so far, hopefully it continues!

Legally Blonde was on TV over the weekend, so I will leave you with some wisdom from none other than Elle Woods:
"Exercise gves you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbads."

So for all of you out there with significant others, the next time your honey gives you trouble, go exercise! It just might save you from a life sentence!
