Default 300+ And Ready to Try Again...#804

WELCOME !!!

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Hi All,

I just finished having a lovely big bowl of homemade stew. It was so filling and only 5 points. So day two of my diet is going well. It's good to be back on track.

Jill - I am sorry, I hope I didn't put my foot in it when I asked about you having a baby. Talking about it might have upset you, if it did I really do apologise.

You could be very right about why you are feeling so tired. Hopefully things will improve soon. Did you have that epic night of Disney viewing?

Shadie - that's wonderful news that you could have a new house by the time you read this. I hope you didn't have to resort to throwing yourself on the floor and having a wobbly until somebody gave you some answers about what financial support you will be getting and how much it will be. Is the house far from where you live now? Good luck with it all!

Catherine - isn't modern technology wonderful? Imagine sitting in the airport using their wi-fi to email etc. I remember days of old when it was hard work getting a phone to use there lol. I really hope that your journey went well, I say went because you should be in Canada now. Look after yourself and do post when you can. We will all have withdrawal symptoms around here without you.

HippiMomma - 4 weeks from Friday, that is so exciting. I hope everything runs smoothly and you have a quick recovery. I am glad that you and your ex seem to have things organised when it comes to when he sees the kids. I would be so tempted in your position to say if you wanted to see the baby you never should have left me. But as I said in a previous post, I wouldn't really use kids as a weapon. Still the thought would be there I know I know nothing about your situation, except that you wanted to make a go of the marriage and he didn't, so I just want to kick him in the backside. He SHOULD have made an effort to work things out, not just for you and his sake, but for the children's too. I am sorry that he won't. Well you keep your chin up my friend, and enjoy life and your children as best you can. Things WILL get better.

Lori - got your email, will look for you on MSN tonight. Am not tired so won't be having an early night.

Ok all, I better go now, Celebrity Fit Club is on, I love that show. It's January and there are a load of programmes on about losing weight. It's brilliant. Take care all,

Hugs,

Ammi

Ha, nonono. It's not a sensitive topic for me at all. I used to worry that with one ovary, it would be tough to have kids in the future, but then I found out that my aunt only has one ovary, and she now has 6 kids, so I'm not too worried about it Good thing, too, because I think I'd like to have 4...but I have plenty of time to figure that all out

Hi everyone!!

I'm such a slow poster around here!! I can hardly keep up! I had the most horrendous stomach virus Thursday and Friday. It was terrible, and lost 8 pounds! Only 3 stayed off (water weight, dehydration, near death ) but I'll take it!!

Well, I am working on getting my exercise bike this week. Just trying to get it from Sears so they'll deliver and set it up. Not packing one back from Academy and dragging it out of the back of a truck and kill myself dragging it up the stairs and such. So I'm on it! Then I'm gettin' me a good set of dumbbells, too.

teahoneyThose rice cakes sound great! Thanks for the tip sooo much. Was really thinking of getting back on the rice cake kick for snacking. I used to love one of them I think that had some kind of cracked sugar glaze on it-- tasted like cracker jacks!

kayleystarCongrats! Nothing I love more than backfat. I loved it when I lost a little bit of that, too! It sure makes clothes look nicer. AND the seatbelt in the car doesn't jab me in the hip anymore either.

Sharon Those are scary thoughts aren't they?? I think about that all the time. I work in a nursing home, and I SEE what obesity does with age, and it's not pretty, either. Just standing up for someone who weighs more than 240lbs is the most difficult thing in the world for them. It's really sad. Congrats on your 9 LBS!

Felicia Welcome! I'm a lurker here off and on too. Don't get to post near as much as I'd like, so I'm usually just reading and learning!

Ammi Yes, you can do this! I did the same as you-- 38 lbs in and gave it up when right now I could truly be at goal if I had actually stuck to it. Ticks me off!! I have to quit sabotagging myself! We can get past it.

Zelma You look INCREDIBLE. What a great story you've told with your weight loss. I will so be telling one of those same stories soon, but you are an inspiration!

Me again lol.

Jill - I am glad I didn't upset you, I was just about ready to dig out all my stories of people I know who have had babies despite having PCOS, or one ovary. I see you have an excellent example in your aunt though. So when you are ready for those four babies, I hope you will have fun trying for them. Do you think you could manage 4 in one go??

Kerri - Oh that isn't fair is it, being so unwell and losing all that weight but to only have a 3 lb loss at the end of it all. I mean, gee, if you are going to be so sick there should be more benefits than that Seriously though, I am sorry to hear that you were so poorly.

I hope your exercise bike will be delivered soon. What a great idea to have it brought and installed too. Much easier than doing it yourself. I would love to have a cross trainer, but have a bit of saving and weight loss to do first!

Sorry to hear that you sabotage your diets just like I do mine. How stupid are we. We struggle to stay on our diets, and exercise etc, and then for some reason we just give up. Let's us promise ourselves and each other that this time we won't give up!!!

Julee - thanks for sharing those photos, you and your fiance look soooo happy. I am glad you posted them here, I rarely get to the photos page, so would have missed them.

Okie dokie, gotta go again now, might see you all again tonight, or if not, definitely in the morning. Bye for now,

Hugs,

Ammi

Voodoo - Well, I've had my fair share of jobs. I worked at Mcdonalds while I was still in High School...horrid. Free food+fat girl=no good. I probably gained about 40 pounds when I worked there. (Granted, that was over 2 years, but that's still terrible!) In and out of factories...I can't do it! lol...and met my wonderful boyfriend at...WALMART. hehe. We both quit on the same day. But I like working at the nursing home. The residents can be awful sometimes, but the sweet ones really make up for it, and they really DO bring a smile to my face. Has he thought about a trade school? That's not NEARLY as long as college, and he wouldn't have to really take the mundane classes that are required at college...only the ones relevant to his field.

Jill - Enjoy your night tonight! I get this dull pain in my lower back, and that kills me, too. Although, I bought these shoes that I used to wear back in my fast food days (Shoes for crews), and they take the strain off your feet quite a bit...although, losing 125 more pounds will do that, too!

Zelma - Hello and Congratulations on your incredible weight loss! As it is, I have about 130 more pounds to go in a year and a half...I hope I can be as successful as you! Nice snake

Luan - Going to be a famous makeup artist one day, huh? Good luck on your endeavors! In regards to your question, it's not really a success as more of a happy thing. My friend Susan, who I hadn't seen in about a month, told me that she could tell that I lost weight. That made me a bit happier. Also, I noticed that I'm eating less. I think that my stomach shrank when I was sick, and I'm a-okay with that! I hardly ate anything when we went out to lunch today. Also got a new scrub top, and it's a 4X. In about 10 more pounds, it will fit perfectly! I was in about a 6X top before.

Felicia - Enjoy your time without the kids! A little break every now and then isn't all bad!

Wyllenn - Thanks for the BMI info! I'm sure I'm "morbidly obese" ack!

Ammi - I tend to do the same thing...or at least I did before I started my diet. I would eat just because I was bored, and not because I was actually HUNGRY. I would also eat until I was so so so stuffed. I now just eat until I'm satisfied and stop. My back is a lot better today, thanks! Amazing what a hot bubble bath, and a good night's sleep will do for you! We are supposed to have two people to lift someone, but seeing as we seem to be short most days or people doing other things, I tend to be left to do things by myself. I gave a shower yesterday...my first one, as I usually don't work during the WEEK...they didn't tell me how or anything, but just gave me someone, and told me to figure it out. It about broke my heart, when she started to cry in the shower, and I didn't know why. I felt about awful! I had gotten a $30 gift card for Lane Bryant for Christmas from my friend, Felicia, and I got some really cute boyshort undies...boy are those COMFY and cute/sexy all at the same time...but I used the whole gift card on TWO pairs! That's just ridiculous to me.

Catherine - I hope your flight goes well, and I know you'll fit into those seats JUST FINE! Woooooooo!!! Your day is SO CLOSE!

Kerri - Glad you are feeling better! Sounds horrid! The backfat, and my double chin are my two things that I'm most self-conscious about. Hopefully, since I've been doing these little facial exercises, the double chin will cease!

Today was a pretty nice day. Went out with my friend Susan, and she got a new outfit. I can't wait until I can get two pairs of jeans and a NICE shirt for $40! Then, we went out to lunch, and she went and got her hair done. She's a great friend. We are going through a lot of the same emotional stuff (depression), and she's more mature...since she's 29. She's almost exactly 10 years older than me. We are going down the same path for our degrees, so we are in all the same classes. Built in study buddies! Came home, and me and Andrew are going to the dollar theater tonight to see "Waiting". We wanted to see it when it came out back in November/December, but never got to...plus, the dollar theater is so cheap! Hope you are all having a FABULOUS day!

Julee - the pics are great. Maybe you have mentioned this before, but when is the wedding??

I've really been doing good with my eating. I'm finding that I'm just not stressing myself about it anymore. If I slip, I just get back into the groove. And the slip ups are becoming fewer and fewer. I'm also really enjoying exercising. Today I did my Turbo Jam cardio and it kicked my butt but I feel good. I really didn't feel like exercising today but within 10 minutes I usually feel great.

Unhappy

Hi, everyone. Looks like I missed a whole thread (at least I could still go back and read it though).

I feel like crap. I don't have a cold. I don't have what my husband had. I just feel horrible ~ like I'm dying! I had to leave work and come home and sleep for two hours this afternoon. I couldn't sit up any longer (I had that last night too). I don't know what is wrong with me. I'm going back to bed soon too, but I wanted to stop in first.

We were supposed to go by a computer place after work today, but that didn't happen. I guess I'll get to it when I get to it. I just hope it doesn't end up costing a lot of money (because we don't have any). I'll just have to wing it and see. (The computer has no power at all.)

As for the house, we mailed our mortgage application Sunday so I'm still trying to make the leap. My husband is handicapped so that has something to do with my fears. I don't even know how we will mow the lawn, much less fix anything in a house. (My father had heart surgery this summer and I went and mowed his lawn twice ~ it was very difficult ~ I had blisters on my hands and could barely manage it.)

When you are the one person who has to do everything in a relationship, you know how easy it is (like now, when I'm sick) to not be able to manage your life. I appreciate everyone's perspective, but I know how difficult it will be for us. I was watching the news this morning and there was a retired doctor on TV saying she couldn't pay the taxes on her house (a retired doctor ~ $$$) ~ I was thinking "if she can't pay her taxes, how will we pay ours?" I am trying not to think about it too much. It's too stressful. We're in a lease until May so I don't have to make any quick decisions. We'll see what happens.

Catherine ~ I hope your wedding day will be magnificent. I don't know if you'll have a chance to check back in, but just know we all love you and want you to be as happy as a human can be. Tell himself we are all happy for him too!

Welcome to all the newbies and congrats to all those who lost (Tea ~ 5 pounds).

Please say a prayer that I will feel better.

Thanks, guys.

P.S.: We have a new computer policy at work now so I am not going to be able to post during the day anymore. (I have to be especially careful since we're getting this new sneak on staff.) It is a miracle I felt like getting on tonight, but I had to hook up the laptop for my husband so I made sure he left it on for me to use too!!! I had to say hi.

Just a quick note before I fall asleep – I am exhausted tonight! Today I had a doctor’s appointment, and of course there was good news and bad news. The good news was that for the first time in years I could be weighed on the scale there (they only go up to 350). I weighed in, with clothes, at 342! Pretty cool. Unfortunately, my doctor found a large fibroid that needs to be surgically removed. I’m glad they found it, but not looking forward to the surgery.

Hi ladies. Just wanted to throw a quick update in.

Welcome to the new ladies!

Congrats to the losers! And to those who are determined enough to jump back in

Catherine, my thoughts and prayers are with you and I know everything will be just great!

To all those who are ill or just not having a great day/week/etc, I hope things look up for you soon!

My biopsy and colpo has been moved yet again. This time, to next week. I'm irritated with having to wait. At this point, I'd rather go in and get it over with. I have, since New Year's, gained back some weight. Some of it is definitely water weight, since I haven't been drinking nearly enough. Some of it is my poor eating habits lately

I've had a weird problem with either sinuses, allergies, or.. something! that just won't let up. For the last couple months, I've had a lot of drainage through the back of my throat. It only happens when I wake up, and of course that's not a very lovely thing to wake up to. Lately though, I've found that my mouth gets so dry, and I can't breathe very well. The positive side of it is that, for the last week or so, I haven't been able to eat nearly as much because I'm just not able to eat and breathe at the same time. I've taken allergy and sinus medications and nothing seems to work, so I think I'm going to have to suck it up and go in and get checked out. Anyhow.. have a lovely night!
