Talking Chichen Wings

Does anyone know how many points are in chicken wings? Not the ones you by in a store or rest. but the ones that you bake in the oven yourself. Also, there don't have any coating on them just spices.

Hi there.
WW Complete Food Companion says:

1 chicken wing (1-1/2 oz) cooked, with skin, and with bone=3 pts.

fried, with skin, fast food
1 chicken wing 5 pts.

Hope that helps.

oh dear, how can that help?? 3 points for one little chicken wing? It is one of the saddest things I've encountered in my WW journey, specially since I could easily eat 4 or 5 wings without blinking an eye.

Sorry....your question isnt too clear.......you said "Not the ones you buy in the store or a rest. but the ones you bake in the oven??????????? Where did you get them if not in the store? If you mean frozen to bake in the oven.they should have a brand name which can be looked up in the WW Food Companion.like TRAY brand makes some that are 4 for 5 points Tyson makes some that are 4 wings for 6 points...each BRAND name equates to different amount of points based on the nutrition label!!

I suggest you purchase the WW Food Companion........it has 3 sections......the First section is a general listing in alphabetical order.the second section ethnic foods and the THIRD section is supermarket brand names and theior point value!

Hope this helps.

I think what Bigloser was meaning about "the ones you buy inthe store" are the fresh from the meat department, uncooked chicken wings. I'm assuming she wasn't meaning the ones you can buy in the deli or meat section that are alread cooked and fried. I'm also assuming she wasn't meaning the frozen ones you buy that have been pre-cooked already. If you are talking about the fresh from the meat department wings I think they are 3 points. I also love chicken wings (I usually buy only the drummettes--more meat on them which =more points but still very tasty) and I bake them in the oven with bbq sauce or just salt and pepper and other spices. Very tasty.

Default A tip for cooking your wings ...

Using fresh wings/drummettes from the meat counter. Put a pot of water on to boil. Drop the wings in for a minute or so and take out. The skin will come right off! You can then use them in your favorite recipe. I guesstimate about 6 wings equals about the same amt of meat as a 3 pt breast.

I buy Texas Pete Buffalo Wing sauce, do this to the wings, bake them in the oven and them toss them w/ the sauce. Yummy! If I'm in a hurry, though, I use boneless, skinless breasts.
