Ive been MIA for a while....not eating right, and being too hot, along with some hormonal issues. Life hasnt been too pleasant inside my head lately. Ive started back this morning, so I'll be around a bit more.
Brenda: What I've finally found to help me drink more water is an obnoxious 64 oz. mug. It has all these fun facts about water on it (I got it at Wal-Mart). I fill it up in the morning, and it's my challenge to drink it by early afternoon. I like feeling like I've accomplished something. After I get my water in, I usually go for green tea or regular iced tea, but I don't allow myself to have any until I get that mug of water in me.
Robin: Good to see you back! Hope things get better for you. Looking forward to seeing you around here more often.
Well, my weekend was actually pretty OP. Too much wine (again), but other than that, I made pretty good choices. Plus, I even made it to the gym once and had softball practice yesterday, so I got some good exercise in, too. Woo-hoo! Rarely do I have a successful weekend...
Welcome back Robin!!! Hope your first day wasn't bad!!!
Jina: WOOHOO!! Congratulations on the exercise and the successful weekend!! Great accomplishment!! And I'll try your suggestion for the water. I DO have a great big water jug to drink from (not sure how much it holds) so I'll fill that up today and force myself (make a goal) to drink it.
Leenie: Sure wish you all would slow down for a day so you could come and chat with us!! Have a great day!!
Had a Girl Scout Leader/unit meeting last night. Dang, this is all a mess (and a long story). The short of it is...I might end up being Leader for oldest DD's troop!! ARGH!! Not positive but it might be in the works. Eating is going well and I seem to not snack if I'm not home So I need to leave the house right after supper every day I guess Giving the water trick a try so we'll hopefully see an poundage or two loss this weekend for WI!!!!
Hi! Remember me! I decided I need to get started now with my support system. I should have never left you guys then maybe I wouldn't have gotten in trouble from my OB for gaining too much! Needless to say. This little one is due in a couple of months and I will be back on the wagon. Not induction, because I'll be BF'ing. But I think it will be even harder NOT to start on induction. I'm attempting to check (read) daily so I can get back to the encouragement and support we all need to do this. I have stayed relatively active during this pgcy, so I've not even hit the 40 lbs gained yet. The problem is I gain about 20 back before I got pregnant! LOL! It never ends does it?
I'll be checking on you guys! I am going to think about posting my weight...LOL!
Brenda: Good luck getting the water in! Let us know how you do.
Lori: It's so great to see you back!! And, your little one is almost here -- how exciting!! Looking forward to seeing you around more often.
Well, yesterday was a great, OP day. Eating was right on track, got my water in, exercised. I feel so good and such a sense of accomplishment on days like that. Too bad I just don't do it everyday!
I just realized that there are five months left in this year. If I can lose four pounds each month, I'd be at goal. Sounds simple enough, right? Four pounds a month really isn't too much... I'd love for that to happen. Now if it actually happens is a different story, but I want to work my hardest to get as close to goal as possible.
didnt do too good yesterday! Something is up with my system....I have pimples where you should never have pimples!!!!!! my eyelid!! Im hoping that getting my eating back in order fixes the hormonal problem. It did last time, but this time, it seems to be quite nasty....perpetual pms without the end result!!
Im off to make some lunch, I'll catch up with everyone a bit later when the a/c is on and I can stand to be in this room more than 10 min.
Jina: That's kind of what my thought was. Then my thought turned to...I can't believe I let myself REGAIN weight when I was so close to goal. You can do it!! Keep up the great work with the water and exercise!!!! My "glass" holds 54 OZ of water so I'm working on that today. I'll consider it an accomplishment if I get that drank today. I'll work on adding more tomorrow Thanks again for the advice!
Robin: Isn't amazing how the slightest change in eating messes with everything on our bodies? Why don't men have that trouble? Keep cool and you can do this
Back from the ortho w/oldest DD. All is going well. Waiting for DH to get home so we can jump in the pool. Waiting for the head honcho from the GS council office to call so I can talk to her about this troop mess. And trying to think of what different to make for supper that isn't going to heat the house. Leftovers I believe!! lol. Off to go drink some water
Well, it's another hot day outside. With possible storms. After I go get youngest DD from summer school I've got to head to the hospital. My dad is having surgery on his leg--poor/no circulation. He just had his right leg done (for the 2nd time) earlier this year. They need to start trying to figure out WHY it's always clogging up!!
I managed to get my water in!! WOOHOO!! Not sure it'll be possible today though. I'll do what I can while I'm home though.
Hello ladies,
I am new here and thought I would jump in and say hello. I am just restarting Atkins (started Monday). I lost weight with it in 2003 beginning of 2004 but after a long divorce and finding out unbelievable things I dropped in to depression and have just finally in recent months got a real handle on that. So now time to get back to losing weight and improving my physical health.
Eating I have done perfect and today I am past the worst and am feeling great. I have walked 2.5 miles each day this week and swam 20 laps Mon and Tues. Today the pool was closed and drained not sure why so I did use the machines and worked on my arms. Considering before Monday I didn't even walk to the mailbox this is a huge improvement.
Water is also going well but I have never had a problem with it. I have at least 60 ounces in right now and it is not even 10.
Hi - I'm new, too. I posted a thread introducing myself - hope that was ok.
I"m on Atkins, too - I used it in the past fairly successfully - just wish I would have kept with it.
I have 28 more pounds to reach my goal and I'd like to lose as much of that as possible by 09/09/05 - I will be at a public event where I will be getting a lot of "attention" and picture taking and I want to look my best. Holding off on buying an outfit for it until I get closer to that date. Want to make sure whatever I get fits very well.
Brenda: Great job on getting the water in! Hope things go well with your father.
Leenie:
Lee Ann: Welcome! Glad to hear you are getting past your depression and getting healthy. It sounds like you're doing great on the exercise -- way to go! I look forward to getting to know you.
Morgaine: Welcome to you, too! It sounds like you have a big event coming up. I don't blame you for wanting to look your best. Good luck!
Well, another OP day under my belt. It's amazing how good I feel when I'm following Atkins. I'm never bloated, and I have lots of energy.
I'm wondering if any of you run into this... I work out at the gym everyday where the temperature is constant -- AC and ceiling fans. I do basically the same routine, 30-50 minutes of cardio, along with 20 minutes of weights. I usually vary the cardio, but might do the same routine a couple of times/week. Some days I sweat a little and some days I sweat a ton. Yesterday, sweat was just dripping off of me (I walked/jogged a little over 2 miles, which took 30 minutes and did 20 minutes on the arc trainer, along with 20 minutes of lower-body weights.) I don't remember ever sweating that bad. My question is, why? Is this effected by what I eat and drink? Something to do with the atmosphere? I just found that interesting and wondered if any of you run into the same thing.
Anyway, besides sweating buckets, nothing much new around here...
Jina~ it might be the humidity? I know I sweat alot more a/c or not if its humid.
LeeAnn and Morgaine welcome!!
Im starting to feel a bit better. Im working on my water intake today and keeping it pretty induction like too. Im not nearly as cranky today, but really teary. As much as I love being a woman, I really hate these hormone issues! I hope I can get myself back to some sort of "normal" mode before dh has to go away. Having to deal with him being gone and being in this huge house at night with just dd and I, Im not too thrilled about. So...onward with getting better!
Ive started back to school shopping for dd. Found a beautiful winter coat at priceless kids for 13.99....London fog, just beautiful!! So her and I went out and bought some pretty yarn to make a matching scarf and mitts....the yarn was more than the coat!! but it keeps my hands busy, and not eating what I shouldnt be!
