Default Period gains!!

I know I can't be the only one with this problem. So, I'm doing really well with my weight loss, I'm exercising daily, I'm eating really well and the scale reflects my efforts...
UNTIL my period rears its ugly head.

I am gaining 2-4lbs during my period pretty consistently every month.
Even when I continue to eat well and exercise, I gain weight and then it doesn't just go away like it's supposed to!!!

I get famished during my period so my intake does go up slightly but not drastically. I've been calming my chocolate cravings with a square of dove dark chocolate (90 calories per bar), 2% chocolate milk, or fat free pudding. I haven't been yielding to the junk food cravings. I don't really have a hard time with that except during my period. My portion sizes continue to be controlled. I've been making the effort to exercise even through cramps but still I see a gain.
I've looked over my food journal and weight records and this is consistently happening each month. And I get stuck with a few pounds back each month. It's driving me insane!

Last week I reached my goal of getting out of the 50's and I was around 248.5 and 249, today I'm weighing in at 251. It's sooooo infuriating! I keep recycling pounds and it's driving me crazy!

Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem? What on earth can I do to keep from gaining every month! I feel like I take two steps forward and one back.

the same exact thing happens to me. One thing- I try to make sure I drink TONS of water during my period- a lot more than I usually drink. Other than that I have no idea. I get the worst fat and chocolate cravings- so I know how you feel!

hang in there!

Thanks for the water tip. I have noticed my water intake gets lower during these days. And, although I'm still eating well, I do get a bit sloppy *sigh* just no rest for the weary is there. So I'm done with my pity party and I'm trying to make a plan for NEXT month so I don't have to keep going back and forth!

I never have weight gain during my period. If anything, I find mine decreases a few days before it begins and stays consistent throughout the week. Crazy!

I started my TOM on Tuesday of last week (t's pretty much gone now), andI registered an 8-pound loss at last week's Thursday weigh-in, and I'm well on my weigh toanother 2-pound loss for this week. I'm not saying this to infuriate you further (in no way is this a "nyah nyah, you gain weight duing TOM and I dooooon't"), but rather to say that water is SO important! We tend to retain more water during TOM, so in order to keep this from happening, I pretty much look like a fish in my cubicle at work all day. I usually drink a MINIMUM of 12-15 servings of water a day, and that is in addition to any other beverages (I do not count diet soda, chrystal light, or my sugar-free kool aid when I count my water servings--pure water only). I actually did used to gain during my TOM, but I think that was mainly because I caved into my cravings. Now, I stick to my diet plan no matter what the time of month, and I ALWAYS (especially during TOM) guzzle my water! Hope it helps!

I don't gain during TOM but notice that I usually have a stall in weight loss the week before starting. I would definitely try the lots of water thing. That is always good for you anyway.

That's more like me, I slow down a bit and then during/immediately after TOM it falls off, sometimes up to 7lb in a week and rarely less than 4 - 5. Which is why I'm happy today, because hopefully I'll be posting a big loss this week

I wish I burned more calories during my period, that way I wouldn't have to gain weight if I eat one ff chocolate pudding! LOL

Default Oh! Duh!

Oh! duh!
If I would thought about it another few seconds maybe I'd of figured it out! Don't mind me, I'm just a silly idiot!

I hate sweets! I hate anything rich, French Silk Pie makes me what to puk! But when it comes to that Time O the Month! I could eat me a bag of chocolate anything! I absolutely have to stay away from those Lindor Truffles with the creamy chocolate inside!

LOL I wish I hated sweets!

I'm happy to report that I've lost the weight I gained with my period and 2lbs more so I'm less frustrated. Still, I've made a plan for next month (which involves massive quantities of water!) so I don't have to keep re-losing pounds!
