Default Help I start Core on Monday

Now that there is a switch option on weight watchers I thought I try the new (no counting) program. (We call it No Count but looking on the website the States call it Core) Going to attempt it this monday, called my leader so she could help clear up a bit of confusion with the plan. So it’s the basic three meals a day but you can snack on (maybe not sure about yoghurt), fruit and veg as you like. I am off to the other half’s on Thursday and he is such a meat and potatoes man. With no count I can have all the pasta, potatoes I want and don’t have to point anything (which is a new thing to me) also I can have cereal in the morning with fruit. I am looking over the list of free foods and I am quite impressed. Lots of fruit, veg, purses, pastas, meat, seafood, yoghurt, and dressings.

I am still a bit worried that I will eat too much, too much of the bad things. These are my questions: Are you allowed to snack on low fat yoghurt, fruit popcorn when you want?

Well, you can have whole wheat pasta or potatoes once a day, and cereal once a day. So it's not unlimited. Your program materials will help you out. The basic idea behind the Core plan, I think, is that you eat when you're hungry, stop when you're satisfied, and you can choose from good, whole, unprocessed foods.

Good luck, and congratulations on your excellent losses so far!!

My my I just figured out that the American Core is so different from the British "No count program". Firstly we are on a 21 point week allowance, you can have more than one starch a day and only 0pt foods and fruit are free snacks.. Sorry everyone for the confusion

We get 35 allowance points a week (5 per day instead of 3). As for the other stuff though, maybe I'll consider moving to London!!! I could eat a baked potato for every meal there, but it's a no-no here.

Welcome!

I moved to london about five years ago and never tried ww in the States, going to visit family in Pa this summer, will make sure I stick to pointing everything not that Core looks weird but this girl loves her potatoes (not that I eat more than one a day but I know I eat more than one starch a day)

You are allowed more than one starch a day - just depends what kind!!! Potatoes, pasta and rice are limited to one meal per day - but otherwise you can have barley, couscous, buckwheat, cornmeal as well as other starchy vegetables such as squash, peas, corn, etc.

If you want to eat bread as a starch you must use some of your 35 weekly points - ditto for multiple servings of potato/rice/pasta - you can have them more than one a day if you choose, but would have to use your points in that case.

Also as mentioned food is not really "unlimited", in that we are supposed to gauge when we are "satisfied" - it would be grand if we could eat as much as we wanted...but unfortunately most of us would not lose any weight!

As for snacks - we are not limited to fruits/veg - but can eating basically anything as a snack (protein/starches too)...at least that's what I believe???

Congratulations on your amazing weight loss so far and continued good luck!
