Talking February's Chat :)

Good Morning

Well needless to say, my dieting is horrible lately Monday I seek professional help and then go from there. One thing for sure, I will say with this way of eating. I'm NOT flip flopping around from diet to diet anymore.

For lunches this week I'll be taking out my frozen pumpkin chili

And I'll look in tomorrow flyers to see whats on sale at the grocery store, I'm in the mood for ckn and zucchini so we'll see.

Whats happening with you all ?

Hi Leenie How's everything going? You sound like you are ready to get serious! I wish you luck finding some good zucchini this time of year. This is the only thing I don't like about trying to focus on fresher, more natural foods - lack of decent produce this time of year. I've never looked forward to summer more in my life!

I'll actually be on a liquid diet for a little while. I'm having some major dental work done, starting tomorrow. My teeth are in great shape, but my problem is in the bones that hold them in place. I'm not sure how long it will take to complete the treatments, but I won't be able to chew much for some time. I'll have smoothies, v-8 juice, and some protein shakes.

Did the pumpkin chili freeze well?

Hey Suzanne,

Good luck with your dental work, gee that sounds painful. I'll be praying for you. Yes the pumpkin chili freezes well

I did go to the doctor and she suggested a therapist in "south jersey" DUH!!! I'm in north NJ. I really don't know what these doctors think. I work full time and have a kid. Like I'm gonna travel 2 hrs each way to see a therapist...sigh.... back to square one looking for decent help.

I'm home today, got a cold, sinus infection and antibiotics...... LOL

LindaT come out where ever you are !!

That is a lot of traveling! Unless she's so good you just need one visit I'm sorry about your cold, go crawl under the covers and stay there!

Where is LindaT She's probably busy cooking another fabulous meal in sun-shiney California! Maybe that's where we should be traveling to, Leenie

Default I'm here, I'm here

Hi you two

What's shakin'? It's a cold day here today. I wish I could get back some of the insulation I lost, well just for the drive to and from work. Shiver!

Leenie Beanie.. keep pushing for a local therapist. YOU are in charge of your healthcare.. everyone else works for you. If you don't get what you want from this doctor, find another. Yes I am going to keep nagging you. You keep putting this off and dropping the ball and you are far too important to take yourself so much for granted! So there! I hope you and Ms. G feel better soon. A box is en route for the little princess. Everything in there is for her, except the one thing with your name on it. So no snitching her stuff!

Suzanne... oh dental work! I hope it goes well. Demand GOOD drugs. I figure if we have to go through the expense and pain of oral surgery, we darned well better get good legal drugs! It's funny you mentioned finding decent produce this time of year. I am terribly spoiled as I get fresh veggies year round.. summer is even better though. I remember visiting my Mom in Ark. many eons ago and was very surprised at how little of the fresh stuff seemed to be in the stores, when compared to CA. I have a solution. You both need to move here. Simple. huh?

Things are okay here. Just way too busy for my liking. This position I accepted on church council is taking up far too much time. Hopefully once we get passed this weekend retreat thingy it will not seem so imposing. This isn't even a real retreat where you get to go off and be in the woods. It's just going to be friday night at the pastor's house and then all day Saturday working at the church. UGH. Sunday I have decided I am cutting church as three days of church stuff this week (tomorrow is Ash Wednesday) is plenty. Of course Sunday I need to work on the church web site, so what the heck?

Work is fine, exercise is fine, eating is fine. The scale is a &%$@$%)&$$#!! Bet you can't guess what that says!! I've added an extra 90 minutes of exercise a week to try and get the blasted scale to move. I think I'm at something like 430 minutes a week now. Sigh. nuttin. I think I need to work out 16 hours a day, eat tree bark and drink 5 gallons of water to see a change. Yeah Yeah I know all about the muslce weighing more than fat issue. These last pounds are being incredibly tough. I'll be lucky to lose 1 pound a month at the rate things are going. So sometime in 2006 maybe I'll hit goal? I might need to rethink losing 19 more to just 9. Nine more was my original goal.. so we'll see.

Yes I've been cooking. I made tuna patties with ginger and soy this weekend and a yummy chicken, mushroom spinach dish with balsamic vinegar and garlic and served it over brown rice. I almost drooled all over myself last night it was so good! This weekend will be easy cooking for the week since I'll barely be home.

And on that note, it's time for me to go over to another building and whine about server status... it's down and I am stuck until it comes back.

So what have you ladies been cooking? Any new recipes to share? Any new Men? ok, just Suzanne on that one, unless Leenie is up to no good!! Happy Fat Tuesday!!!

Default I saw that

Glad you are getting the book. After I bought it, I started it right away but something in the very beginning put me off. I think it was his attitude. Anyway, I put it away for several months and then one day decided to pick it up again.

The reason I think he annoyed me was that he was telling the truth and I didn't want to hear it. Part of me, and i think most of us, still harbor that secret wish in the corner of our brains that this will be fast, easy and painless. HAH Just plow through it Leenie. Several times if you need to. The 7 keys need to be read over and over again until you are programmed.

Cool

Someone just posted a wonderful site full of medeterrean recipes called gourmed.com. I'm not good at copying links but the link was posted by Zara in the "What Do I Bring for Lunch" thread.
