We share laughter and tears.
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have a bi-weekly 2x2 Challenge.
Our goal is to lose 2 lbs in 2 weeks.
We have a long term goal of losing 300+ lbs within our 300+ group in 2005.

Morning Ladies,

Just a quickie before I start work. It is snowing here. They were saying somehting like 8-10 inches. So that sucks with my moving. Driving was crap today. But I need to get to work now.

Tony, Happy Belated Birthday.

Everyone else, it looks like I won't be moving anything tonight so I will log on and catch up on my reading.
Lov ya all

It was so great to look in on the last thread and see Lucky's ativar!!! You have been missed girlfriend

This is day 3 of my 3 day jump start, so far so good. Not going to water aerobics this morning cause #1 I'm a slugg and didn't get out of bed in time, adn #2 I have to finish getting the Christmas "stuff" out of the house so the housekeeper can get in tomorrow.

Here's one of my first attempts to make my own siggys. Not nearly as professional, but it a start.

PS We will be thinking of you today 2Cute.

Hi all! Barb, I love your signature with the shadow. That's very cool.

I went out in the snowy windy morning to do my walk this morning. It's up and down hills, so I had to be careful, but it was a great and refreshing workout! Brrr!!

Wednesday Wish List - I wish I could use my new scale to weigh myself. I was still too heavy Monday, but by next Monday... I'm crossing my fingers and toes, here... Oh, and sticking 100% to plan and moving my bod whenever I can! That will probably help more than the fingers and toes crossing thing...

Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to work out my upper body with weights. And s-t-r-e-t-c-h!

Hey everyone

I'm getting better slowly and surely. All that is left is some weezy-ness and an annoying nose that likes to get stuffy and runny at alternating times.

My room mates and I got up and went to play Raquetball at 8am this morning in the gym. I love that game, though I'm sure because we suck so much its not TOO much exercise (though all the laughter definitely counts for some calories burned!).. but its great at least getting out and having fun playing a "sport". I loved how empty the gym was.. if I knew it was that empty all break I would've definitely gone every day! Really the only thing keeping me away is my shyness.. I'd definitely go at 7am (if they're open) if theres not many people.. but supposedly it gets packed at all times once school starts back up.

I did that.. and I've kept my shoes and sweat pants and shirt on.. so when the time comes I'm gonna be still energetic and ready to go. I've realized that wearing shoes and workout clothes really helps to make me more active - I don't want to laze around as much. I didn't get much sleep so I might nap, but I think I'll do it still wearing everything ;p I wanna lift some "weights" before the end of the day and I'll probably finally do my workout though its hard being sick.

I hope everyone is doing okay, I still need to stop in more and catch up on personal responses... I start back at work and school next week so I should be able to do it then. Yep - the good news is I'm being given a final chance with college and I recieved my financial aid luckily.... Its so hard because I have such a hard time concentrating on school and a hard time concentrating on losing weight - doing both at once is really going to take a lot of will power.. but i think I can do it this time.

I know I'm rambling but.. I just want to remind everyone not to overlook the small changes and progression. I didn't lose a ton of weight, and I sure didn't try my hardest last year.. But you know what? I .. spent at least 3-6 weeks out of the year working out 30 minutes a day every day which is a HUGE change compared to my past life! I drank water like crazy.. and sometimes I don't drink it every day,.... but I almost do - and almost do is better than nothing. I eat so much healthier, again not every day, but most of the time - and thats awesome compared to my lifestyle of fast food and crap all the time.

What I am saying is.. don't overlook the small baby steps you take, look at them and let them be a sign that you are changing, that you can do this! I was looking at my past resolutions and whether I "accomplished" them or not, and to everything I had to say "well.. I started to do this, although I didn't try my best.. I did do it" .. which is SO much better than having to say " i didn't do this at all".

I know I sound crazy and rambly. .but I guess I just have a surge of motivation in me right now, and I want to pass it on to all of you. I may have gained a ton of weight at the beggining of the year last year, but for the first time in my life.. I actually worked to get rid of it - and did get rid of 22 pounds of it.

Its a new year ladies and gents, and I know we can all do it this time Whether we accomplish our dreams or goals, lets make sure that we at least TRY our hardest.

Good morning everyone! I guess I can still say that since it's only 11:50 AM. I slept in this morning. Geez, Mother Nature is not being very kind to me. I think she's trying to visit, but just not sure that she really wants to and it's making me crazy. Anyway, I'm sure that's TMI and lots more than you wanted to know.

I went back through the last couple of threads and didn't see anywhere that a Roll Call was started for the 2x2 Challenge that started Monday so I think I'll do that here.

2X2 Challenge Roll Call

I guess it just helps if I commit to it here.

I've been busy working. Pulled a couple of bank jobs yesterday and need to do the same today. Got word that my grocery store shops have been discontinued so that's $100 a month out of my income. Oh well, just have to search for some stuff to replace it.

We're in the middle of a Winter Storm Watch. That just means that the weathermen are "guessing" we'll get some snow today or tomorrow. They seem to be the only ones who can be wrong all the time and still keep their jobs. What's with that????

I'm going to be out in the next week looking for lodging for the Spring Fling II. Now that the holidays are over, does anyone have any weekends in April that will NOT be good for them. I figured that when the families got together perhaps talk of weddings and showers and such would come up and so I haven't set a date in stone yet. If anyone has any "absolutely can't come that weekend" troubles, please let me know.

I am really hoping to get back here on a normal basis real soon. Life has been hectic and my funk did not make things any easier, but you all don't want to hear that stuff as you've all had your own stuff going on and manage to hang on. I've been messing around with this post for almost an hour now, but more because I get distracted, do something else, and then come back and type some more. My brain is just not into completing one task before moving on. Of course that's usally my problem, lack of concentration which leads to me STARTING alot and COMPLETING NOTHING!!! That's one behavior I should work on changing, that's for sure.

Ok, rambled enough. See you all later. Love ya bunches!

Thanks Thin! BTW, you can have our winter storm. We've had freezing rain since yesterday and we're supposed to be getting snow on top of that. There will be many trees ruined. We either lost ours or had them very dmanaged three years ago and have since removed them so we don't have to worry about tree damage!

We have a wedding on 4/2 but otherwise no plans in April yet.

Ahhh, Wednesday: Hump Day! Ummmm, I'm here to confess that I am doing ABSOLUTELY nothing today. It's almost 4:00 and I've done NOTHING! Shame on me!

Winter Storm Warning! Hhhhhhh! Nothing coming down here! Wrong again!

Terri: 4/2 Noted! I'm thinking the last weekend of April unless there's a conflict from someone here that wants to come or with a hotel. We'll see what everyone else has to say.

BTW, for all of you new folks. The group is planning a Spring Fling here in the metro Detroit area for April 2005. We had Spring Fling I in Tulsa, OK last April, hosted by 2cute. This year, Susie and I are hosting the Fling here in Michigan. If you are interested in being included in the mailings that I send out, please PM me your address and email. I try to send something out about once a month.

Ok, I did go down and put in a load of clothes. Does that count as getting something done? Geez, whatta slug I am!

Later...........

Yeah, yeah, I know.....it's me again! That's what happens when I stay home and do nothing all day.

I got this in my inbox today and since it's Wishful Wednesday (or whatever it's now named ) I thought I would say that I wish for (and will work towards) the positive attitude that this woman exudes.

"Picture a 92-year-old woman who is petite, well-poised and proud. She is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied. Even though she is legally blind and has to move into a nursing home today, she is smiling and patient as she waits. Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making today's move necessary.

After many hours of waiting in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiles sweetly when told her room is finally ready. As she maneuveres her walker to the elevator, the attendant provides a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet curtains that had been hanging on her window at her home.

"I love it," she states with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

"But, Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room yet." answered the attendant.

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replies. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away just for this time in my life. Old age is like a bank account: you withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories."

"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. ...... it's how I arrange my mind."

May we always "arrange" our minds in the right way so that happiness is sure to follow. Love you guys!!!
