Default Points Books

Aggie: You might want to reconsider acquiring these books. The program has changed significantly enough that many of the points shown in the old books for 123 Success are quite different from the new calculations. Even in the new Week 1 book, 70 foods have changed in points value; (most went up) as did serving sizes change -- and we have been told by WWInternational NOT to promote these products anymore. Just FYI. (I'm a leader in NYC).

Aggie is actually following the 123 plan.

I think it's better than the new program myself, but since I go to meetings I figure I ought to stick to the new plan as much as I can.

Why did the program change? I don't think it makes sense...I don't like the new fiber cap, like most...I'm sure you've seen the threads..most people preferred 123 also, and I find that most people are incorporating some of the old rules along with the new.

Default Why does the program change?

Over the years the W/W program has change with new research providing a better and better program (otherwise we'd still be eating liver 5 times a week).

The fiber cap was incorporated because the labels on foods don't specify insoluble or soluble fiber. Insoluble isn't used by the body and soluble is...thus some members were getting too many calories and either maintaining or gaining. Remember it's still calories in and calories out that cause gains or losses.

That makes sense about the fiber. Are you a leader too?

Default Not yet!

I plan on becoming one when I hit goal. I've had a minor setback but am back on track 100% now. But I've had lots of nutritional classes for a career as a nutritionist/dietician but that also has had a minor setback and is on hold.

Great! That's neat! I would love to be a leader too...I don't know if I could ever reach what they consider to be my goal weight, but as I get down there, I'll see how I feel.

Hi all and thanks to Girlie for sending the books my way. I'll be looking out for them.

I do realize that WW has made lots of changes (which I know some feel are for the better and some don't), but I did have success on 123 before (I just stink at maintenence and let some of the weight creep back!) - so that is what I am continuing to do.

Best of luck to all!
