Wink Tuesday 9/14

HI LADIES!!!!!

Welcome to another day. Hope you have your 'pick-me-up' in your hand

The leaves are changing and the nights are getting awfully crisp. The snow will be flying soon. Actually it already has above timberline with some 'powdered sugar' coating the mountain tops. Pretty........but I'm not ready for it. I'm having an awful time getting my act together. Maybe I'll burn more calories when I start shivering!!

OK, you Floridians.............stop laughing. Think I'll take that over hurricanes anyday.
Nita, sorry you were without electricity for so long and lost a shed, but you were blessed compared to others. Were you able to sweat off some weight? Good thing Ivan isn't near you.
Eleni, sounds like you might escape the brunt of this one. Are you gonna keep the boards on till it's past? I'll be keeping my eyes on it's path and I hope you don't get too much of a back lash from it. Give Joann my best. Poor Angel....hope she is feeling better now that the cyst is out. It's nice that her step sister was with her......'Heathers' are pretty neat people, aren't they??? How are doing by the way??.....and don't let those pounds sneak up on ya!

Penny, wow you were young when you had cysts. Hopefully you don't have another, but if you do, get it out while it is smaller. Makes recovery a lot easier. How's your TOPS group doing?

Wendy, How does it feel to be back at work? I bet you miss the kids, but the break probably is nice......I know I enjoyed it when I got back into the 'adult' world. I totally understand your frustration on being fat....I HATE BEING FAT TOO!!!! Sounds like you and I have gained about the same amount and I don't have a baby to show for it. Mine is all around my middle and I HATE the bloated....full feeling NO!.....The FAT feeling!!!!!! How are we gonna 'jump start' ourselves????? Anybody got some pointed steel toed boats????? Good luck on getting a house. The prices are reasonable back there, so that is positive.

Susie, Oh my, cotton candy! I haven't had that in years and it brings back some fond, sticky memories

Alora, WELCOME to the board. I'm proud of you for passing up the donuts. I can't believe Krispy Kremes are in Walmart. No wonder our country has a problem with obesity..........we can't even go to a department store without being enticed with food.

SHERRI.........ARE YOU OUT THERE????? Been thinking of you and wondering how your busy, busy, busy life is going.

Hope everyone else is doing fine We're rapidly approaching the end of the year with all the temptations that come along with it. Just go to a Walmart, you'll see all the commercialism of the approaching Holidays. Can't believe the Christmas stuff is on shelves already. Have a great day....and I will strive to get some form of exercise in today. Who's gonna join me on that????

Default Good moring Tuesday

good mornig, I'm here for the Morning paper.
Summer-Girl you either went to bed way late, or got up a bit earlier than me. I bet it is awesome there with the colors of the leaves starting to change. I'm with you snow vs hurricane, snow wins. However, by the end of January we will be having enough, and then we will be wanting Summer. I'm here to kick you in the butt. You can do this girl. You are the only one that can do it. I was thinking this mornig while exercising, If i don't like something, it's up to me to change it. I can't make it excuses, I can't explain why I haven't done something, I need to do it. I need to stop passing the buck, sort of speaking. You can do this. A step is a step, no matter how big or small, one step in the right direction to a healthy being in the end will reap great rewards. That goes for anything. You don't like what's in you bank account change it, you don't like the way the yard looks, change it. You don't like the dishes not being done, do them. I know we can only do so much in a day, however, it can roll over to the next, or stop complaining about it and do it. (This is all for me). It is up to us. So there. There is your kick in the butt.

Eleni-hugs and I'm praying for you, and your family. Hang in there. I hope you are being as active as the doctors will allow right now. Becareful not to overdo anything, specially outside in the heat.

Nita-Prayers, everything will work out. Glad it was just the shed and not your house like others have had to endure.
There are more tropical storms and hurricanes out there. Lets just say a few prayers that they don't get near florida. K
A friend from work sister, had a lot of house damage. Leakage. One picture, you can see the water just coming through the door window. Others show ceiling damage. The lost the outer roof they have on the house. I guess they had two on it. There boat got washed up to shore a lot more than it was sorta speaking. But they are ok. They had left Florida to get out of the hurrican path.

Penny-how has weigh ins been going. You haven't updated the September weigh-in in about 2 weeks. Hope you are back on track. I know you have been busy, but hopefully to busy to overeat, and not to busy for Mommie time. Exercise. When you can.

Susie-Bummer about the lady from work. Doesn't seem like these days anyone is exempt from the firing. Not sure the circumstances, but i'm sure it's quite because some people are thinking "wow" she had 18 years here, who could be next. I'm sure it blew people away when they did it.

Sherri-Hope all is well. Miss ya
me. Work went well. I had 1047 emails to clean out, plus another 69 in a hold folder from when I got my new computer. Wow, took me about 3.5 hours to go through them, and of course, send the jokes that I could. Then I had to go back and read the work related ones. Then I had to set up my desktop, and try and figure out the new system. I actually got 1.5 jobs done yesterday. We were also having server problems.
The house is a wash out shorta speaking. Our realitor had been there in May, when we were getting the rain. There was about 14 inches of rain in the basement. A lot of water damage he said. Since we are trying for the fha loan now, and refinance again in about a year, that wouldn't pass inspection. I'm hoping the one i want will. One of two that I like. I emailed him on them, plus we have other options. I don't think one of the houses is on the list he gave me.
First day back, good. I needed adult conversation. Garret was fussy for the sitter, but Him, me, and brandon, have this sinus thing going on now. He is having a hard time breathing. My nose is raw from all the blowing, and brandon, keeps loosing his voice. Plus the nose thing.
I'm exercising at work for 30 min. Then I'm doing either a 4 mile, a 1 mile or a 30 min work out in the morning. Saturdays I want to try and get two of the workouts in. I was able to lose 3.5 pounds yesterday, (at weigh In) and when I got on the scale today it was down another 2 pounds from yesterday morning. I will take a pound. or a .25 of a pound at this point. I want to get to certain goals that I have in mind.
Well it's time for Brandon to get up.
you all take care. And remember. Exercise increases motabolism. Weight training is good to add in there.

Good morning Everyone.

Summer: I love the change in the seasons. But summer is really my favorite time of the year, so I'm always a little sad to see it go. It's still warm here during the days, but the nights and the mornings are cool and you can just feel that fall is right around the corner.

I know it's hard to get back on track and stay there, but like Wendy said, you can do it, and you are the only one who can. Just take it one day at a time. Set a little mini goal for yourself each day and work towards that. That's what I do when I get off track.

Wendy: Glad to hear that your first day back went ok. You are doing awesome on the weight loss! and if you can find time to exercise, then anyone can! I'm going to remember that when I start back to school on Thursday. I'll just get up in the mornings on Thursday's and put in my "Walk" tapes and do it... because Wendy is!!

Penny, Nita, Eleni, Alora, and Sherry, we want to hear from you all when you can post....We miss you when you aren't here.

I'm doing ok today. My goal for the day is to include ab work in my workout tonight. I usually just skip it.

I'll try to check in later today.

Good morning I am getting use to not having to get up early. Never thought I would have that luxury. But I would rather be healthy enough to get up early and go to work. I am feeling fine. Hard to beileve I am as sick as they say. Of course if I go anywhere with Bill I see how tired I get quickly. Hopefully in a few more weeks after the surgery I will be able to do more. I never thought I would miss exercising. As bad as I hated it I sure wish I could do it now. My weight was up and I am trying to get a pattern that will allow me to lose.It is hard when we are home all day and food is easy to get to. I haven't lost any yet but I have stoped gaining.Losing will be the next step.
I have been able to do more drawing practice and piano practice. I had to drop art classes for now as I am not allowed to go up any stairs now. But I will go back. Teacher said I will have a spot when I am ready. Her class fills up during the winter when snowbirds come back. So I stay busy just not doing physical stuff.
Summer You know how I feel about cold weather. Not for me.
We all hate being fat.It stinks big time
I have been invited to attend a 40 year high school renuion even tho I quit in 10th grade. They are having it for everyone that did, coulda,or shoulda. Some of them I started in kindergarten with. A friend emailed me a picture of us in 3rd grade.I was dorky as can be.I weighed 115# then. It will be embarassing but we are going to go. If I am too uncomfortable we will just leave. It isn't until January so it would be nice if I could lose. This might give me incentive.Dying hasn't done it. And if you are as overweight as I am that is what is going to happen to you early.
Wow this sounds like a dreay depresing post altho I really am not down today.
Guess it's just on my mind. I feel great today so far.
It looks like Ivan will miss us. Bill got part of house boarded up and quit when Ivan turned. He can finish it if he turns again.
Two of my kids were out of power for 5 days. Each had 3 kids and it was miserable. This was unusual for us to have this many storms. One bad one a year is more common. But I still would not want to live anywhere else. But I was born here so this is home.
Ok I have rambled about nothing.
I see we have a lot of new names and some of us oldtimers have been absent. But I am sure they are lurking around like I always am
Hang in there. We will beat this yet
I have a craft little gate on my desk that says
"You Haven't Failed Til You Quit Trying" I haven't quit trying and don't any of you either
ps Angel is doing good and sister will soon be better.

Hi Eleni! Everyone! I feel a little stuck in a rut today! I feel I'm losing a little momentum b/c I haven't had a chance to exercise in about 3 days. When I say haven't had a chance.. read.. been lazy! I am definately setting my mind to doing atleast the 2 mile walk with Leslie Sansome. We had our church blood drive yesterday and you wouldn't believe all the temptation there! I restrained myself somewhat and the food that I did eat I counted it as my dinner so I wouldnt over do it when I got home. Lucky for me I didn't get home until after 8 which is way to late for me to be eating anyways! I'm hoping that Ivan doesn't pound us with rain the way Frances did, I'm looking forward to my TOPS meeting Thursday. We are going to doing some fun and motivational activities and I sure could use them. I have also got to lay off all the diet sodas and start drinking my water again. Well, talk to you all later... have a great day!

All of our schools business and all surrounds areas are evualating today and tomorrow.

OHHHHHHH, I just lost my post!!!! Here I go again ......GRRRRRRRR!

Wendy, thanks for the kick in the pants. Yep, I go to bed late, it is my only alone time. As soon as I get up in the morning, I'm busy with dd. Enjoy your 'adult' time away from the kids and get you and the family better soon. I dread school time...and dd's teachers are already getting sick. I hold my breath because I know she will get sick and it gets really intense around here.

Eleni, aw, you were cute!!! I love old photo's. Yes, being home all the time is hard around food...it tends to call my name. Glad you're having a great day and looking forward to your class reunion. I'm at the point in my life that I don't care about what other people precieve of my outer appearance in regards to weight. I struggle with it enough and if others have a problem, then it reflects back on them and their pettiness says alot about them. People I don't care to be around. That's what I love about here, we care about each other through thick and thin!!!!

Susie, I've only been through the Toledo area of Ohio on my way to Cedar Point in Sandusky. I grew up in Detroit and I sure do not miss it. We don't get the 'reds' so much with the leaves, mostly golds with the Aspen trees at this altitude of 10,000 feet. I miss the maple and oak trees.

Alora, Oh boy, another WATP person. Since you mentioned Ivan, and the other hurricanes, where are you located? Congrats for not eating at the blood drive.

Penny, are you on the coast of La? I'll be sending prayers your way too.

Ok, onto my goal for the day.....Talk with ya later and it sure is nice having time to get on the 'puter!

Hugs, Summer

Hey Summer! WATP must be pretty popular.. I've seen it mentioned quite a few times on here. I've had the tapes for a couple of years but loaned them out before I could use them, now I have them back! I don't live anywhere near Florida, but in NC. It seems that the Hurricanes take the western path and come up through the NC mountains and dump a ton of rain on us! Atleast we are lucky so far to not have any damaging winds. The last Hurricane that affected us like that was Hugo. Today was beautiful though, I was expecting overcast skies and rain showers but mother nature surprised us with sun and low humidity. So far today my eating has stayed on track and I've gotten in 32 ounces of water so far and working on my second 32 ounces. I guess I'll be up all night long but so long as its flushing out the fat I could care less. Well gotta run!

OK, reporting in and being accountable for today. I did the one mile WATP tape and the knee did much better today. I followed it with 2 miles on the bike. I feel so proud of myself for doing it.....but it is a shame that I had gotten so out of shape. I can feel it so that is my wake up call to keep moving. It sure helps when things are going well around here but that tends to be a rarity. Tomorrow is my TOPS day, so I'll see what the old metal 'monster' has to say.

Alora, good for you with being diligent about getting the water in. I am doing better. Don't know why I slacked off since I like it. Glad you had a beautiful day. Our weather has been very windy, overcast and spitting drops. {guess we got what you expected} When the mountains cleared, I could see some fresh 'stuff' up there....now it's real dreary again.

How did everyone else do today with moving the body around? Have a great evening ladies!!!!

HUGS, Summer
