Wednesday-WATP

  • Good morning ladies paper time.
Wow, i was so glad to see so many posts on here yesterday. I'm so glad you all stopped in. The morning reading was great.

Summer-awesome. I'm proud of you. You did it. Just don't over do it, and take it one day at a time. Exercise is great, but work it in slowly. Remember the Mommy time. I know what you mean about the school season. Garret seems to be doing better today. I think a lot of it has to do with the airconditioner on here at home. It's been in the low to mid 80's this week. Michigan and an Indian summer.

Kim-Awesome on the goal of drinking your water. Susie is right. If we work on one small goal a day. We will get there. Since yesterday, getting my water in was a problem, I will work on that one today.
NC does see it's share of rain these days doesn't it.

Susie-way to go girl. I must confess though, that this morning, I feel back to sleep. The 2 days in a row of getting up between 2:30 and 3, and staying up till after 9 at night got the best of me. I did not do the 4 mile today, but will work on the second half of the 4 mile at work. The WATP tapes is what we are doing at work, and we have a variety of them. I need the same at home. I will get there. Having the balls to workout with helps too.

Eleni-I hope Ivan stays away from you, but I'm thinking that it will. Prayers with you. You realize now, and I know it's still hard to soak in, and we all know it, what a pain in the neck being overweight can be. Thanks for the extra kick in the butt. My prayers are with you to become a healthy person. Love ya, and thinking of you, lots. Picture was so cute.

Penny-wow, are you guys evcauating? Prayers are with you, and your home. Everyday, not just because of the storm.

Sherry-hope you are doing ok. Email me at work. Sorry, i didn't respond to the other ones, I was trying to get a job done, and I'm so out of the pattern. I'm having to think again. Just trying to get refocused. Being tired doesn't help either. So I know know what you mean, about falling asleep.

Me-I didn't get water in yesterday, and at night I kinda overate. But I was hungry. It was the first day of a new week. I'm back on track today. I sleep in a little longer today, well fell back to sleep after Garret woke up at 2:30. Finally got him a bottle at about 3. I or should I say we, feel asleep in the chair. Then I went to the couch. Didn't get up till 5. No time for exercise, cuz i had to get some of the stuff done that I didn't last night. Looking at houses on the net. So far everyone that we have wanted to look at either has major damage from all the rain we got in May, or they just sold. I'm not liking this already. i emailed our realitor some pictures last night. Well gotta get the boy up.
Talk to you later, and you all are in my prayers. When leslie says lift your hands to the heavens, I do, I pray for all those that I have on my mind durning my workouts. The WATP make it easy to beable to focus on two things at one time.
    hugs
  • Good morning. Ivan is going to miss us but Alabama is getting prepared and leaving for safer ground. New Orleans is going to get badly flooded. There will be major flooding for miles across possibly 4 states.According to morning news people are trying to prepare. This has been a record year for hurricane. There isn't much you can do but prepare the best you can. The most dangerous thing about hurricanes is people not preparing. I am sure all of our homeowners insurance will go sky high.
    What is WATP?
I have started keeping a food chart and I can see why weight went up. Food charts do work. Many people will say"I know what I am eating" but in realility we seldom do. I hate food charts as much as I hate drinking water. But it will help. It doesn't have to be fancy. If you want to keep track of calories fat carbs protein that good. But if you are lazy like me just keep track of what you ate .I don't get real specific.I use terms like big helping or small helping or 3 bites of or little bit of etc. I know what I am talking about. It has been proven that people who keep food charts or journals lose and keep weight off.
We have to change doc who will do my next surgery because of insurance. The original guy is not a provider and that makes a big difference moneywise. My doc has another gy that is also good.
I am suppose to get my hair cut Sat.It is driving me nuts. The shorter it is the better.
You guys are doing good.Keep it up. Thanks again for cards .They are still coming and I do appreciate it.
Ok I am up this morning early for me. I think I have gotten into this retired mode pretty quick. I didn't get my shower til 11 yesterday.Just hung out in night gown. Thats bad
    Have a good day.
  • Hello. It's great to see all the posts again this morning.

Wendy: I think it's OK that you didn't do the exercise this morning. You have got so much going on, with going back to work and the new baby. It's hard to get it all in sometimes isn't it? You will have a routine soon...I'm sure of it.

That's really cool that you do the tapes at work. It helps when the rest of the people in the office are trying to be healthy too.

I loved what you said about Leslie saying lift your hands to the sky...and you pray then. That's AWESOME! I pray when I'm doing my stretches and breathing. It really gets my day off to a good start.

Eleni:Good for you for keeping the chart. You are right, it does keep a person on track. I track mine everyday. I use the same method that you do...small helping, large helping. The only time I get technical is if I start gaining and can't figure out why, then I measure and count the calories for a while. It helps to get my perspective back on track.

You asked about WATP. It's Walk Away the Pounds. They are tapes (or DVD's) by Leslie Sansone, and they are great to use!

Penny: There are a lot of us praying for your safety. Know that we are keeping you close in those prayers.

Sherry: I'm missing you! How are you doing these days?

Kim: Good job on the water. Keep it up. It's those small changes that lead to big losses!

Everyone else, I saw your other posts and I'm sorry to not mention them specifically. It's good to see you all here and I want to thank each and everyone of you for posting. It's a big help to me to come here and see what everyone is doing, to encourage and be encourged.

I'm doing well today. I did my ab work last night. My goal today is to focus on some deep breathing and to sit and stand up straight and hold my abs in. I'm really bad about slumping!

Have a great day ladies. I'll check in later.
  • Another good day starting off. The sun is out bright today ..... but dh said it was all of 18 degrees this morning when he went to work at 5:30!!! It's now a whopping 36 at 10am!

Wendy, I'm sure the right house will appear but it might take time. Don't rush into things and then regret it later. That is the biggest purchase you probably will ever make. Don't worry about what you couldn't do yesterday. Today is a new day and things will fall into place. Don't forget your water. I, too, like your vision of reaching your arms up.

Eleni, Good for you doing a journal. It is an eye opener! I think lots of times we really don't want to be aware of how much we stick in our mouths. I hate our ^%$@ health care system in this country. It is so broke!!!! I was listening to a Dr. addressing the Kerry/Bush people on CSPAN about it. So sad that we are the worst in all the industrialized countries. All my relatives are in Canada and they don't have to worry about getting their medical needs taken care of in crisises. My background is nursing and I couldn't agree more.....so sad that peoples health care has to be job related. If everyone was covered, fraud would drastically reduce. Something that really popped my cork was when I heard administrative costs for HMO's and insurance companys ranged from approx 15-35%....and for gov't run like Medicare only 4%. That's why Insurance places are for Profit!!! Sorry, but I'm so upset about our system and how unfair it is to everyone. Boy, did I vent....sorry sis. It's nice that your dr can refer you to another good one. Enjoy getting your hair done. It always feels good. Keep up the jounaling and it should help you prevent those extra pounds.

Susie, good going on the ab work and I'm sure you'll do well with you posture today.

I have a meeting in an hour and I need to run to the store, so I best get off here. I plan on doing my WATP sometime before my TOPS mtg this eve.

  • Hi all,

I know I have been missing in action. Just a quick note to catch you up with what is going on with me. I have to get back and read the other posts.
I took Jesse out of daycare and put him with Ben at his Aunts. It is so much cheaper and I didn't have a choice. Although I really miss seeing him on wednesdays. I have been working out also which is going well. The scale won't move but I will know next week if I lost inches. I hope I did. I have been working out hard 4 days a week. Things are rocky at home again. I am looking into another place. The one I was looking into didn't pan out. If this other one doesn't then I guess I am meant to stay put. We will see. I am just ready to be on my own and not have to worry about my husband anymore. I would be a lot less stressed. Been very busy with everything at home. Got a talking to from my boss again on friday he is afraid I am heading for a nervous breakdown. I don't feel it but he said he can see the signs. Don't know about that. I am too distracted and husband isn't helping because he is on my case everyday to quit my job which I refuse to do. So I have been thinking of everyone here and wish I had a min to get here everyday. But I never seem to find the time.
We had Jesse baptized on sunday so that is done now I feel better. I made that choice even though the husband wasn't happy about it being done right now. But I stood my ground and got it done because it was important to me.
    Gotta go.

    Penny,

Thanks for all the cards and letters. I will get back with you. I am worried about you and the family with Ivan on the way. I hope you are getting out of there for your safety. I am praying for you all. Stay safe.

  • Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop by and say hello! Looks like we will definately be getting a ton of rain off of Ivan here in NC. My heart goes out to those living in the path of such a tremendous storm. I hope everyone is stocked up and safe. Today has been such a bore! Nothing to do, I piddled around the house, cleaned out kitchen cabinets, played with my son (not boring).. but mostly just sat on my rear at my computer! LOL I was able to get in my exercise last night and I am continuing my 64 ounce of water challenge. Its so good for you, so why is it so hard for me to drink??? Oh well, talk to you all later. Weigh-in is tomorrow night. I'm hoping for atleast a .5 loss.. we'll see!
