mmmm Kier now I am craving one of thos bottled Frappucinos. I love those and had somehow forgotten about them. mmmmm starbucks. Ok enough fantasizing. I vote that you have the best plans for fourth of july wknd. Are you stressed, excited? both? I hope that all the planning is still going well.

How is everyone else today. We had a great posting day yesterday! I am doing well DH and I laid sod at our house last night so I STILL didn't start my running plan. I am so unmotivated to exercise although I am not sure why. I guess I am just out of the habit. Anyone up for a July exercise challenge. On the south beach board they log in the amount of minutes that they exercise everyday and then set a goal of how many minutes they will do together for the month. I tried to join in that challenge but I don't post there enough to keep up (I just ask questions from time to time) and I am not as motivated there as I am here What do you think we could do something similar.....Let me know and I will get the challenge going since our other one is over on July 4th they won't overlap too much.

I am excited but with the new job I'm pooped all the time so it makes it hard to get the las minute stuff done
as for your workout honey laying sod is no day at the beach You burned something there
I think an exercise challenge would be good
setting the type you want to do and either how many minutes or times a week you want to do it
back to the grind!

Hey all,

Anyway, I am doing well today... I went for half an hour jog yesterday (you guys inspired me) and went to an All-Candidate's meeting last night for my riding (we have an election on Monday) and that was interesting. I ate a griller at Outback afterwards (shrimp), so I used 8 flex points which is okay by me.

I am debating driving to work after I move since the bus commute would be very tough on me (as in 3 hours a day). I am still debating though since it would cost me about $40 more a month, but my July raise should cover that. On my way home I could just drive to the gym. But my social conscious is having a hard time with this choice... I value public transportation, BUT I value my time as well and 1 hour 30 compared to three hours of time lost is a huge difference.

Becky: sign me up! I guess we do the challenge by minutes right? Can I count moving as activity

Kierie: I hate being late too.... mmmm frappucino's

Cheers!

hey, I'm on weight watchers now...I have been in it 3 times before and now I didn't actually go back and pay for it since I am a student and haven't started work yet. I do have all my old books/sliders and such...its been about a year since I was in it last. This was before FlexPoints was introduced and I was wondering if someone could explain this to me? Thanks!

Hi Amedelia: Flexpoints work like this: Instead of having a range of points for the day (say 20-27), you now have a set target in this case 22 points and 35 flexpoints you can use whenever you want through the week. You can also acquire activity points as well and use them as before. You do not have to use all your flexpoints in a given week, but they do not get transferred to the next week. If you don't use them in the week they're alloted, they're gone!

Targets work like this:

under 150ls: 20
150-174lbs: 22
175-199lbs: 24
200-224lbs: 26
225-250lbs: 28
250-275lbs: 30
275-300lbs: 32
300-325lbs: 34
325-350lbs: 36
350+: 38

(note I think these are right).

Cheers!

Ali what you have to think of is how a 3 hour bus commute is going to affect you workout wise and time wise I'd go for the car

Morning everyone!

I did something crazy last night that I've NEVER done! I bought a brand new pair of pants that are too small. Isn't that CRAZY! I tried them on and they won't fit until I lose another 10 or 15 pounds (they will do up if I really suck in my gut but they look bad) - But they were $14 and perfect for school in the fall so I bought them as "motivation pants" - Has anyone done that before? Does it actually work? i'm hoping...A friend took me out to dinner so after a very good day I had 3 onion rings (really big ones though) and a burger (chicken) but I had a salad with my burger so I feel like my points are OK. Today is good so far and I have healthy lunch and dinner and more exercise planned for tonight with Volleyball and swimming with PG sister.

Question - for those of you ladies who have had children - my sister has gained a bit too much weight in her first 6 months and is having very bad back pains. She's not sleeping very well at night and can't get comfortable. And hints or tips that I can pass on to her? She's found the pool to be wonderful (and it's in her back yard) and is hoping that exercise will strenghten the back but the sleeping is really bugging her.

Kier - I could sure use some of that caffine right now...I'm falling asleep at my desk!

Becky - I would sure join in an exercise thread - let's get moving!!

Ali - I think you have to decide what that extra time is worth to you. and hour and a half is a LOT off time to save and motivation to get to the gym. Maybe you can carpool with someone? That way you can still be "environmental" but save some time...?

Amedelia - Flex points are WONDERFUL! Make sure you look into using them on your new journey and feel free to post anytime...

OK - back to it - I'll try to check in later.

KT

KT I'm sending you lime diet coke vibes !
as for the pants I'd say if you try them on every week they could be a good motivator but if you do what i do
which is stick them in a closet or drawer then hmm no
I really want it to be 5 ish so I can get out of here!

Hey all... I have been so swamped today. This is our craziest time of the year and will only get worse until Sept. UGHHHH... So I am going nuts!

KT... I had a hard time sleeping both times at around 7 months. It's not only the weight you gain, but the position of the baby. My hips always ached. They only thing I can recommend is sleeping on your side with a big pillow wedged between your legs. I had to flip a lot tho because my hips hurt.

Have to run. HI TO EVERYONE!!!

I went for a walk and a jog this evening so yah me (1 hour of exercise)!

RE: driving to work, I have decided if I can get a spot I shall do this for the reason that I would lose a lot of time for stuff such as working out. I'll see if I could drive someone else too maybe....

KT: I have done that before!! and I did get small enough for what I bought

Hi Jen and Kierie!

Cheers!
