Default Fabulous 40's & Fit 50's... #158!

Thought we could use a fresh start....

Have had a good couple of days. Breakfast and lunch are so easy to plan and stay on track, it's always the evening and weekends that pose the challenges. I've got to be more creative and use the loads of cookbooks I have collected. While it's easy to eat the same things every day, I tend to become extremely bored, then feel cheated if I don't have some change.
Only wasted points on one item, last night...Joe went to the Hostess outlet store, bought Sno-Balls. Is this just a regional food? Or are you all familiar with it? Devils' food cake with cream filling covered w/marshmallow and coconut. I didn't even compute the points They are soooo good! (Just found them in the WW Complete Food Guide...8 points That's why I don't even want that stuff in the house...it calls me.)

My foot is better each day. Right now we're in the busiest season at work, so it's really being put to a test by being on it quite a bit. It doesn't feel too much worse than my other, so that's a good thing!

A woman at work brought in a huge bunch of lilac branches and we've got them in our office in a vase. Mmmmm, their fragrance is awesome; I've been sniffing them each time I walk by.

HI Terri, Es, Dianne, Sandy, Ruth, Linda, Zoe

Morning girls! This week is sure going fast. Wednesday already! And I'm off!

Jen - glad you're having an easy time staying on track. I had a little difficulty getting started again, but now it's like old school! Great to hear the foot is getting better too!

Es - sorry I had to cut that last message short when walked in! But I will have someone home with me after the surgery. Milt will take vacation (some Puerto Rican name huh???) and my son will be here. Plus my MIL isn't leaving for PR until the end of the month so I'm covered. You had both done?? God Bless you!!

Dianne - Fajardo is sooooo beautiful!! We almost bought a house there years ago. Remember hurrican Hugo?? Well about 3 months prior to Hugo hitting the island, we stayed with my FIL. He was renting with the option to buy in Fajardo. We fell in love with the house and were in the beginning steps of buying it. Well Hugo nixed that. Not only did it take the roof off of the house, but the backyard was covered in mud and there was so much damage we decided it wasn't a good idea.

Well I'm headed into Manhattan for my allergy shots so I need to run. Hi to Terri, Sandy, and all the other ladies I don't know yet!

Linda, I guess the way I worded it it sounded like I said I had 2 hip surgeries I meant I've had 2 surgeries in my whole life time. A hysterectomy & a rotator cuff surgery. Before I got my surgeries I heard all kinds of horror stories. I paid them no mind. Oh, my boss is out on a leave of absence. Woohoo

I'll be back later. Pete is waiting for a phone call. You'd think he would have given his cell#!

Hugs,
Es

Well just wanted to check in. Seems everyone is busy!! Hi to all....I'll try to check in tonight.

Hi,

The weeks are flying by, aren't they? Mother's Day already! What's everyone doing? I don't like to go out to eat on that day, too many crowds. Jess and her family and Joey and Iliana will be over, but we have no plans all I know is I'm not cooking and we'll play it by ear.

Es,
I'll bet you're enjoying your boss's leave of absence. We've got a new supervisor that none of us is too crazy about. It's a difficult situation, as the three of us in our office are all new, but the sup. is even newer so we're training her. She's a control freak and pretty grim, we'll have to see how it plays out.

Have a great day,
~Jen

Good Friday mornin' my buddies:

Linda - thanks for the info on Fajardo - I've never been to that area, but it does look beautiful in the pictures. Sorry you had a bad day with the boss from ****!

Jen - This is going to be a busy weekend - we have "the Jessa's" birthday on saturday so we'll all be over at Lisa's and then for Mother' Day we'll all be over at Darren's. Darren and Lizette are catering the dinner and we're all chipping in for it. It's also Lisa's birthday (Jessa was her birthday present 3 years ago ) so we'll be cutting a cake for her too. I think Darren had the right idea with this catering thing - none of us have to cook and it will be less expensive than eating out. Sorry about your new supervisor too!

Es - Wow, glad to hear your boss is out on leave - what's with all these bosses from **** anyway??

So, did anyone/everyone watch "Friends" last night? I taped it to keep and especially if Alana wasn't able to watch it - I think she had to work last night. She's so sweet, she's got this little pizzeria job, and yet she's able to send us money every month for her car insurance and she also surprised us for Mother's/Father's day with tickets to see Marc Anthony in Jones Beach (Es, you must have been there a million times!). Her Dad bought the tickets and she said she wanted to pay for her own, and then she winds up sending a check to us to cover all 3 tickets. We were so surprised. She's doing so well with her school money and job - she's learning how to pay bills, etc. and to be responsible. In the beginning of the semester she even paid 3 months rent in advance. She's also paying her own airline ticket to PR. What a girl! Now, Justin, well...... that's a horse of a totally different color Oy Vey!

Well, gotta get back to work - hi to Terri, Sandy, Ruthie, ZoeGirl and Janie and Donna too! Have a great day everyone!

Hugs,
Dianne

Yipee!! Friday and is away!!!

Dianne - you will love Fajardo. Make sure you hit Luquillo (spelling) Beach. It's not only georgeous but they have these "food huts" all along the front with all the delicious island foods!!! Well, at least they did 13 years ago!! Tengo hambre!!!

Es - enjoying work without your there!

Jen - anyday I don't have to cook is Mother's Day for me! Have fun whatever you do. And sometimes having a boss that you have to train is good; break them in YOUR way!!!

Hi to Terri, Sandy, Donna (if you're peeking) and everyone else I don't know yet!!

Hi Buddies

I want to wish you all a Happy Mother's Day.

Donna, so sorry to see you go. Take care of yourself & please don't forget us. When you can, just stop in to say hello.

Dianne, the catering sounds great! I don't know what I'm doing. Pete & David keep asking me what do I want to do. I won't go out to eat because of the crowds. Maybe, I'll stay home, rent movies & order take out. Pete said he'll cook. Scary! Have a nice time with the fam tomorrow.Oh, Marc Anthony!!!!! When is he going to be there? I'm so proud of Alana. What a good girl. Give her a big hug for me.

Jen, our supervisor is a control freak too. The office is so peaceful without her. We still have supervisors around but they're cool. They don't bother us. We're enjoying going to work.

Linda, I'm PR & I've never been to Puerto Rico. My father was born in San Juan. My mother was Cuban & born in Tampa, FL. I would love to go to Puerto Rico. One of these days.

Hi Terri, Zoe, Ruth, Sandy & Janie.

Have a nice day everybody.

Luv u guys.
Es

Wow, Dianne, Alana is really handling things admirably. She will do well in life It must make you feel good to know she's responsible and resourceful, no worries about that aspect of her future. I feel the same about my son. It's a good feeling.
Have a great time tomorrow! lots of celebrating for you.

Es,
I enjoy going to work also. I am so happy to have found this job, it's exactly what I wanted.
Sounds like you're going to have a nice relaxing day tomorrow, that's how it should be! Enjoy.

Linda,
Your descriptions of Puerto Rico make me wanna go there next! My BIL is from there, he and my SIL went back in the late 80's, she loved it too. Do you still entertain thoughts of someday purchasing a home there?

Tonight is the America's Most Wanted show that my nephew MIGHT be on. He said they followed him for a bit with cameras, he doesn't even know if it will be on Look for John O'Malley from the Chicago office of the U.S. Marshalls.

Hey, Terri, Sandy, Ruth, Zoe! Where are you guys?

Today am spending the day washing floors, and changing the closets and dressers from winter to summer wardrobes. thought I'd take a break and stop in and say hi to everyone.

Happy Mother's Day! to all of you, I'm so happy to know you all, and wish you the best of days tomorrow with your families.

~Jen

Good morning

Linda's right..it's so quiet in here! That usually is the way in the warm weather, however.

I think I'm going to give the South Beach Diet a try. I've been reading the book and am leaning towards seeing how much good the first two weeks will do me. If it can truly help kick the cravings for carbs and sweets, it's worth a shot! Of course I'm trying to find the right time to begin, don't want to interfere with my birthday weekend So have set my date to start as Monday, May 24. Joe has readily agreed to try it also, so we can support each other.

have a great day!

Morning All! It's a beauty of a morning here in NYC!

Jen - My massage therapisy (yes I occasionally treat myself ) put her DH on that diet and it seems to be a good one. It's very similiar to Atkins, but not as severe I've been told. Good luck!!!

Hi to everyone....gotta run. Day off today and I have a million things to do! Hugs to all...
